  1. Im 10 days now with 8.3cc's in my 10cc band and cld only tolerate 2 bites of last nights left over pizza & have been stuck for 30 minutes now.

Last night when the pizza arrived I got down an entire slice!!

Im thinking because it was hot then & its cold now?

Or that the band is tighter in the mornings than it is at night?

What gives?? Shld i go in for another fill? Is this my New Normal??

  2. I had the band surgery July, 2012 and I am far from perfect. I don't know if I am in the green at all. I have a 10 band and about 2.2 or 2.4 cc total. My doctor goes very slow. I see him every 2 months and last time he said make it 3 months because he feels I am doing great.

Talking to the doctor and or dietitian may help you.

OMG!! 2.4 in a 10cc?? I was given 3cc's during the surgery, 3weeks after the swelling subsided I was able to eat again!

How much weight have u lost? Do u feel any restriction at all? Any loss u'd have right now wld be according to your own diet and exercise regimen. For me it wld be like not having a band at all and its been a year and 5 months already for you.

Is there some other doctor anywhere else that u cld see? Every 2-3 month fills? The norm is every 2-6 weeks.

  3. Are you eating a lot of slider foods? Like Ice Cream & shakes, potato chips, chocolates (things that melt) oatmeals, mashed potatoes? Boiled eggs? Steamed vegetables? Etc?

Eating the harder foods like grilled chicken beef fish and salads without any yummy creamy dressings normally are the foods we cant get down as easily and thus, theres your restriction.

I just had to ask because when i cant get the good nutritious none fried foods down i tend to reach for the sliders and i dont see a loss on the scale.

  4. Water always get stuck in my throat there at the fill appt but I never have them remove anything. I so desperately want to be tight. Call me crazy! LOL

After a day or so the irritation subsides & I'm able to drink & eat anything I like just as before the fill.

The first 5-7 days after a fill i can lose 3-5lbs

The second 5-7 days i regain them all back!

My fills are bi-weekly. Never heard of a weekly fill must be something new.

  5. @NewMeDebbie

    Same here.

Restriction from the fills right now only last about 4-5 days. I can lose 3-5lbs in one week.

The second week the restriction is gone and I could eat an entire cow, and i regain those same pounds.

Cant wait to find the green zone I just want off this roller coaster....

  6. 3 fills for B-52, and about 8 fills (not sure if theres been 8 exactly I've lost count) and 4 months for me, and restriction is still not consistent.

I can lose 3-5lbs the first week after a fill and then gain it all back the second week.

My adjustments are every 2 weeks.

Until u can reach the green zone, which as u can see, varies from person to person, the weight you lose now will heavily depend upon your own dieting and exercising habits.

Once ur band is tight enough to restrict food intake consistently, weightloss is still in your hands.

  7. TOM=Time Of Month

.1 from here on out will take an eternity.

I wish there was a way to do these fills from home.

Considering the drive every other week to my clinic along with my work schedule, it jst seems like it can all be avoided some how.

I have lost nothing by the way.

I can lose 3-5lbs the first week after the fill bcuz of the irritation & swelling & 3 days liquids, and then gain it all back the second week.

    My adjustments are bi-weekly.

  8. Oh wow. I think id be satisfied at 9cc's.

But the way my fills have been going lately itll be many more months before i get there. When i go back in 2 weeks im only gonna get .1cc!

    I use to get 1.5, then 1.0, then .5, then .3

And I guess im not tight enough to fill the restriction during TOM bcuz i felt nothing when it was here so i gave in to the TOM cravings.

  9. Ok. October 18th I had my 8th fill and hit green zone. Everything has been fine for over a month. All of a sudden, yesterday and today, I can hardly get anything down. I ate a granola bar and it went down. chips, Water, salsa etc etc is all coming back up. Or it just sits in my esophagus. I don't have acid coming up. I spent Thanksgiving in Texas and didn't drink much. I think I'm a bit dehydrated. Why today can i all of a sudden not get anything down?

How much does your band hold? And what are you filled to?

  10. I am in the same boat as Pepper28...except I was banded Jan 28. I have not hit the infamous green zone yet. Every body is different and every doctor is different with how much they are willing to put in at each fill. My doctor takes it slow. I am good with that...for the most part. lol

Since Jan? 11 months without restriction? How much does your band hold? How many cc's are u filled to?

  11. I say SLEEVE!! SLEEVE! SLEEVE!

Restriction with the sleeve begins day 1 out of surgery. No more fills. No more begging & trying to convince ur dr's for a tighter fill because the xray shows ur tight & once the swelling from the fill goes down ur able to eat an entire cow & taking off work for .1 cc here and there.

Ive been banded 4 months and i wish i cld take it all back & get the sleeve.

  12. @bandedbecca

Without diet & exercise, dont expect any great loss for the first 3 months or so.

It will take several fills/adjustments to finally reach the green zone & weightloss will be effortless.

12/1 will be 4 months for me & its been a roller coaster ride.

I feel the restriction from the band 5-7 days after a fill, lose 3-5lbs and until i get another fill i regain it all back again.

So 4months in im still waiting for consistent reliable restriction.

  13. Ahhh, i see. Oh 'that' struggle.

I assumed it was the over eating struggle.

Those are the ones i have

My quick story: I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and then 0 lbs the next 3.5 months. I was in Bandster hell for about 3 months. I was pissed off the first couple of months that my doctor and nutritionist never mentioned this phase. I should have been more diligent in reading this forum and I would have known better.

But, I accepted the fact it may take several fills before I started to feel satiety for hours. 4 months out I had a consult with my nutritionist and my 3rd fill. I immediately started to lose weight and my hunger level dropped dramatically.

Just keep getting fills and eat your Protein. You'll get there. Happy Thanksgiving and today is my 2 year Bandiversary

Oh wow! Hope im as lucky as u've been!

Well maybe u can tell me when might i expect consistent restriction after a fill.

The first week im definitely in the green. Second week is like i have no band at all.

Im aware of the swelling during the first week analogy.

Im guessing i may have sprung a leak some place.

Im convinced somethings pushing the Fluid out of my band after 7 days

  14. Oh man! U look HOT! And the band never worked at its full capacity so u've done this mostly on your own. Ur doing just as awesome without it.

Are they going to give u a new band? Or repair the old one?

If i cld do it again, id try the sleeve instead.
