  1. Gaviscon Maximum Strength, going for a 30 minute walk during/after a meal, eating smaller meals, also not eating an hour or two before bed, sleeping straight up, like in a recliner, and emptying out your intestines like w/a laxative before bed, helps your digestive system, have all helped, at least until you're properly unfilled...sleeping w/my left arm up (bcuz that's the side my band is on) helps me also

  2. So you never lost the original 15lbs even after getting 2.0 added back but gained 4lbs more instead, bringing you to 19lbs gained total?

Since 2.5 was causing reflux I would aim for 2.25 for a few months and see what results that will get you

  3. @@B-52

I'd get 6oz of my favorite vegetable Soup down successfully around 1pm (lunch) nothing after that and in the middle of the night the heavy coughing would bring it back up. This went on for a month straight

I probably could've dealt with it longer but I was scaring the kiddo and freaking out the dog w/the gagging & vomiting

All meats were getting stuck and coming back up right away

So a slight unfill was the only answer

I didn't cough last night since the .7 was taken out yday. I'll test today on mash potatoes or oatmeal today to see if it still feels like swallowing a bag of nickels

  4. For this to suddenly become painful can you think of any meal you recently had a problem getting down? Dry chicken breast or thick beef does it for me. It will irritate the opening where the food passes until it swells shut

Or how about a cough? Or colds? Those typically will swell it shut

Also my band has always been the tightest in the mornings & loosens by noon-afternoon & at night I can eat just about anything

Sometimes the pain in your back and/or rib cage is trapped gas & a brisk walk & some burping gets it out

I say get another unfill until the irritation/swelling (if there is any) subsides

  5. Every since being filled a month ago to 7.5cc's in my 10cc Allergan I've lost 13lbs but the night coughs progressed as the weeks went on

I went in today (bc I just cldnt take puking my lunch out at 3am in the morning anymore) & had .7 removed he explained that the shallow breathing while sleeping & lying flat allows the contents in your stomach to rise back up thru your esophagus, & into your mouth & cld even come out your nose

Even if I had not eaten a single thing that day I'd cough up a brown/black Fluid

I just want a descent meal now & a good solid 8hrs sleep!

Is that too much to ask?!?!?

  6. Did U get the .25cc's removed? Did ending the meds resolve the issue?

I miss food too! Thanksgiving is the wrong time of year to be on a liquid/soft food diet

Every since I've been filled to 7.5 a month ago & the night coughs began I've lost 13lbs

I had 0.7 removed today. Hoping the coughs stop but not the weight loss

Im sorry I mis-spoke, True Results charges are $75 per visit OR the 6 month plan where U pay $45 a month and Ur allowed unlimited visits & monthly xrays

I had to get a slight unfill this week. Apparently I'd eaten something too heavy & began night coughing. She removed 1cc Thursday morning and Im eating and sleeping fine now

I go back in two weeks. Praying I dont regain anything.

  8. @@jenengelmann

im in Houston Texas. True results does them for 125.

We also have a Dr Speigel who does them and im almost certain hes not charging anymore than 125

I was speaking with a young lady in Dallas on Youtube and she'd found a clinic who does them for $50

They'd given her a greater fill than her very own providers ever had.

  9. @@jenengelmann

U can go months getting fills or U could be one of those lucky patients who will only require 1-2...I find it to be different for everyone.

As of your March 5th fill expect to be tight for the first few days because most fills come with irritation & swelling. This causes less food consumption so U will lose some weight that week. But once the irritation goes away U will be able to tolerate larger portions almost as if u had no band at all, and thus regain those lbs U just lost.

This inconsistency with restriction then no restriction having to diet and count calories and carbs and working out is what we like to title Bandsters Hell (excuse my french)

My band holds 10cc's I believe Im filled pretty close to 8cc's.

I feel Im in the green zone (or possibly too tight, depends on who U ask) because 3 spoons of Soup at noon keeps me satisfied until dinner. dinner I'll have a cup (maybe less) of Garlicy Spinach from Boston Market. Mornings Im satisfied with coffee (or any warm liquid) because mornings are when my band is tightest.

Ive lost 60lbs from August 2014 to January 2015...only 5months.

Where before August 2014 I was losing and then regaining the same 10-12lbs over and over again.......

  10. I feel if u've not lost weight with Lab Band u've not been filled to your sweet spot/green zone or there's a leak.

My band controls my portions tremendously. Before my green zone I was eating an entire can of pringles in one sitting.

If I over eat or not chew my meals thoroughly I puke.

My band is my brake where I once had no brake at all.

  11. Get with ur new insurance carrier and explain to them uve had lap band surgery and they can give u a list of providers in your area.

Ive heard out of pocket visits ranging from $50-$125.

The good thing about paying out of pocket (if thats what U gotta do) is that the fillers dont string u along. Giving U .5 here and there bcuz those providers are trying to milk your insurance so that U see them longer they tend to drag it out and delay your Green Zone/Sweet Spot arrival

Out of Pocket providers give greater fills IMO

  12. I lost and regained 10-12lbs for the first 10-11 months after surgery. Your band was merely INSTALLED November 2014.

Once youre in the green zone, aka Sweet Spot, it wont even be necessary to count calories.

The weight melted off once my restriction was consistent.

Any weightloss before the green zone relies solely upon your dieting & workout regimen....also called Bandsters Hell

  13. Thanks gowalking but I liken my new nutrition to that of a vegetarian.

I can get down things like collard greens, cabbage, green Beans, and oh Boston Markets seasoned Spinach (to die) but theyve gotta be cooked to mush.

Vegetarians dont eat solid Proteins eithers.

Oh and I love Peanut Butter.

I do understand about the siders tho.

But when I was able to eat solid Proteins ie chicken beef fish, I lost nothing at all.

I attribute 95% of my weightloss to not being able to tolerate these solid proteins.

  14. It all boils down to what u, ur band, can tolerate at the end of the day.

U've just learned that alcohol or a certain alcohol mix irritates your band.

The entry way between ur upper small pouch and the lower bigger pouch is probably swolen shut and not allowing anything thru now.

Wait until the swelling subsides to eat or drink anything. Rest ur band for a few days with tolerable noncarbonated liquids and U'll know the moment the irritating & swelling are gone.

    Good Luck!

  15. I find myself consuming junk as well. Icecream goes down effortlessly. So does Cheetos, any Lays potato chip, and also Cookies for the most part. If theyre not too thick.

They tell us to have meals high in Protein but I must be filled too tight for meats. I have the worst time trying to pass chicken beef and some fish (if its too thick) thru my band.

Steamed Vegetables can forget about it.

Soups with rice? Or noodles, not a chance.

I get my Protein from Protein shakes cheese sticks and boiled eggs.

If it wasnt for junk food Protein Shakes and boiled eggs right now Id probably kill over.

  16. If the band doesnt make us lose weight why is it considered weightloss surgery? Or a weightloss tool?

I was banded August 2012 and I only lost weight when I felt restriction. They toy around with U an entire year to get U filled to your green zone. The first 10-11 months I kept losing and regaining the same 10-12lbs. Talk about frustrating!

Especially with family and friends spectating insisting I'd wasted 10grand.....

But once I found my sweet spot, and no time in the gym what so ever I went from 208 to now 149.

The day U got lap band surgery the band was merely INSTALLED it wont reach its full potential until you are filled to your green zone. Any weightloss before your green zone will come from your dieting and work out regimen.......

  17. I was banded August 1, 2013......after 10fills and 13 months I'd finally lost my first 12lbs. So for an entire year I thought Id made a big mistake chosing lap band. But like a light switch and being filled to 8.2 in my 10cc band the weight began melting off.

Only advice I have is to keep going for fills. Dont give up so easily. The band does work.
