  1. I would call your sleeve surgeon. My sleeve surgeon also diagnosed and removed my gall bladder 6 months later. If he/she doesn't remove gall bladders they can tell you if the referral you got was a good one to see. I wouldn't wait though- those attacks were brutal and mine got worse as time went on.

I agree. I'm a nurse and stick with who you know and trust or go with who he recommends. I had a bad gall bladder for a year before I finally got it out. Those spells will continue and they are miserable. I thought I was dying the first time I had one!

  2. I wish I would have known that sipping is as hard as it is and how quickly you will feel full. I mean ONE OUNCE of anything and you will feel it. The delicate balancing act of dehydration and not overdoing it is the sole focus on the first week. It's kinda scary! I ddn't realize how "tight" it would feel. I am also dropping weight like crazy. 9.5 pounds since surgery 5 days ago. This is a crazy ride for sure! I wish I knew I wasn't overdoing it. I go back to doc tomorrow so I guess I will get their feedback. You get this far and you just want to be sure that nothing you do could jepardize the sleeve. But I am glad to be on this side - the waiting was no fun!

  3. So you really do feel full? Can u compare it to anything? Is it like the feeling you get after a big meal? I know its a strange question. Lol. Tomorrow is my surgery at 1pm. I'm nervous!

It's a painful bloated feeling. Similar to how you feel when you overeat now but more tender. For example, I took a packet of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken powder, added 1/4 cup of premade progresso chicken Soup (no noodles) and about 1/2 cup of Water and purreed it. It was about 1 cup in volume. I had maybe 1 ounce over 30 minutes and thought I might explode so I stopped. Then I heated up the rest later and had maybe 2 ounces and thought I might burst. I feel less of that with shakes or clears like sugar free popsciles. But it is scary. Each bite, I am afraid I will do damage to my sleeve. I am no where near getting in the amount of Protein but I guess at 4 days out, that is normal. I have moments of hunger too but as soon as I start to sip, it's pretty much gone. I have a month of this before I can go to softs so I am thinking of all the things I will puree. The problem is I am way too scared to puree something "heavy" right now. And when you add Protein to it, it definitly changes the flavor - although the Unjury chicken is quite good, especially flavored with a little real Soup. I completely understand head hunger now. It looks and sounds soooo good but physiologically, my tummy cannot take another bite. Learning to eat is weird. It's like being a baby again. Each day is getting easier. It hurt to swallow the first 2 days but has been so much easier now. Pain is less each day. YOU GOT THIS! You will be fine! I won't lie, the first 48 hours were rough but it's in the rear view now. I am excited for you!

  4. I'm debating on trying yogurt today too. I am no where near dehydrated yet. I can feel how swollen it is though. Drinking tea this morning. Then I'll try some Protein. Dropping weight quickly. Go for follow up tomorrow. Decided to take the whole week off I think. Until I can eat yogurt without being scared, I feel like I don't need to work yet. Did you thin the yogurt with milk? My instructions say to do that.

  5. Google ricotta bake, I've heard people rave about it. I don't remember off the top of my head but it's basically ricotta, cheese and sauce. Perfect for pureed stage and it has lots of Protein

I read about this recipe last night before bed. I think I dreamt about it! I'm only day 3 post op. And even though my doc does straight to full/puréed, I'm too scared to try it yet. I can't wait to eat that and purée some chilli. And refried Beans. I never, EVER, thought I'd be so excited to purée something. I just want to wait at least a week.

  6. I had my gastric sleeve surgery on March 11th. I will admit that the day of my surgery and the following day were tougher than I thought they would be pain wise. I felt nauseous those two days as well, but thankfully I never vomited. My surgeon refers to the day after your surgery as hump day and he was right. By Wednesday evening in the hospital I was feeling much better. I was released on Thursday afternoon. My journey so far has been unremarkable. I am still trying to learn what being "satisfied" is. I don't want to eat to the point of feeling ill so I'm trying to listen to my body. All in all it has been a positive experience. I am resting and taking it slow at home. I am scheduled to return to work on March 25th. I am looking forward to sharing my journey along with the rest of you.

I had mine on the 13th. I'm finding it very hard to get to Fluid or Protein goals. I feel fill but I also feel hungry. It's weird! Had the same feeling with nausea in the hospital. Much better after anesthesia wore off. Taking it slow. Fair amount of pain right now. Tried not to take any pain meds but caved at 3:30 today because I was just miserable. Can't decide if my tummy is full or distended. I'm sipping and sipping and sipping. Very monotonous! I can go to puréed but I'm too hesitant. I want yo wait til Wed for puréed. Rest is good. I'm so thankful not to have to go straight back to work.

  7. I'm the same day as Sizz. I didn't make Protein or fluid goals yesterday. Today is looking better. Took pain med yesterday twice. Trying not take anything but still a lot of right sided pain with movement and coughing. I'm coughing up gunk today. Hurts like hell to cough. If I sit still, I'm ok. I'm waiting til next week but I can't wait to eat puréed. Never in a million years would I have thought those words would come out of my mouth!

  8. I'm doing some Atkins, some EAS and some Pure Protein. I'd like to use some PB2 but I'm worried that might be too touch this soon out (or not smooth enough). Here is the number on Atkins shake, granted I only had half.

    Cal 160

    Fat 9

    Carbs 5

    Sugars 1

    Protein 15

Probably not the biggest bang for your buck but they are good, easy to do.

What's everyone's thoughts of adding PB2 to unflavored nectar and low fat milk? Too soon? Peanut Butter sounds good. I'm going to wait til week 2 to do puréed. Never thought I'd be so excited to put a can of Soup in the blender!

  9. It's surreal! Can't believe it really. My family had pizza tonight. I went and took a shower while they ate. It was hard though, thinking I'll never eat pizza like that again. I'll eat pizza, but it won't be thick, stuffed crust! The smell was hard to be around. But once it was done, I was ok. Hope your back feels better soon. I kinda feel sore all over but especially between my shoulder blades. Can't wait to sleep on my right side again!

  10. Could be the positioning on the surgical table and just clenching muscles with pain. Sounds muscular but if it doesn't get better, check with doc! I' had surgery Thursday and still taking some pain meds. I have a heating pad on my back too. It hurts between my shoulder blades but I've heard that's normal.

  11. Had surgery Thursday so I am post op day 2. I've managed to get the following in but pretty sure I am no where near goal. Suggestion please. Also, it is expected not to make goal the first week right???

Herbal tea - 1/2 of mug

    2 sugar free Popsicles

1/2 cup of cream chicken Soup

    3/4 of a pure Protein shake ( 23g)

    1/2 of Atkins shake (15g)

Power aid zero (just a small amount)

Definitely not enough Water. I feel like I've sipped all day long. I even feel kind of full. I've had pain and belching with most sips. Gas is mobilizing so that helps. I hope this gets easier or I'll never make Protein or Fluid goals. Is this normal for just home from hospital. Technically I can have full liq or purees but I'm too scared to try anything too thick since it hurts hitting my sleeve. Can't wait to eat retried beans! Gonna wait a while but that sounds so good.

  12. I haven't shopped in anything other than plus size in???????? I can't really remember! I was a 14/16 in high school. I'm 45. I got down to 190 when I was 24 and could wear a 12/14. But I can't even imagine walking into any store and just choosing! It's got to feel good. Sp I'll sit and sip and try to maintain Faith. How far out are you?
