  1. Lol thanks all :) it was amazing going shopping for swimmers etc afterwards - who woulda thought a year ago we would be doing that!!!

It was a great bunch to be out with today and they're all amazing, funny and savvy ladies! Feeling privileged to have been out with you all today and look forward to catching up with the Sydney crew in November :)

  2. Hi ladies!!! Just to say I'm so sorry but I now won't be able to come on Saturday :( I have to go to Adelaide Friday morning and have to drive back with my husband. I was really looking forward to meeting u all. I'll def go to the next catch up though. I do hope u guys have a great time Cheers Bec

Oh no :( but totally understandable!! Have a safe trip

  3. Misty I will still be in business with my husband but I am stepping away from the other business with my friend and have suggested she buy me out. Our friendship hasn't survived going into business together and she's had major issues with my getting the sleeve and losing weight over the past year. Time to move forward but no regrets.

I am so happy for you Kelli but sad to hear the outcome of your friendship wasn't all you might have hoped. But you're right- time to move forward to bigger and better things!!!

  4. I have been offered a new job on the Gold Coast starting early December. I will tell you all about it when I see some of you on the Gold Coast for our catch up on 5 October. Needless to say I doubt I would have been approached or been offered the job if I had not lost my weight! Excited but happy about this new chapter. It's a 12 month contract so I plan to rent a one bedroom furnished apartment to say in during the the week instead on commuting from Brisbane every day.

Yay Kelli!!!! So happy for you!!!

  5. Wow Aussiegirl' date=' that is fantastic and you are my hero.

Lissa, if weight is still coming off easily I would say your body still wants to be a bit smaller. If your ticker is accurate you are a 27 BMI and while BMI is certainly not everything, you won't waste away with another 10 kg gone. Don't stress and enjoy the journey, and listen to your body. If your weight gets too low you will start to notice problems and that will be your body telling you to ease back.

I have a gym membership because I know I won't exercise outside in the heat. Treadmills are pretty expensive so I think right now the gym is a better investment for me.[/quote']

Oh you're right Misty! I still have weight to lose for sure- I think I was more just reflecting on the closure of this phase of my weight loss journey than anything else. Lol for sure it won't be a bad thing to lose another 10kg!!!

I would join a gym but there isn't one here in Moree but think I will hire one in the first instance to make sure I have the right one before I buy!!

  6. Hi all :) I had heaps of hair fall out too but it grows back!! Just get into a good hairdresser is my advice particularly if it's bad. Luckily my cousin is my hairdresser so got loads of samples etc until I hit on the thing for me :)

Things are going pretty well at the moment. Losing about a kg per week right now and am just finishing week 4 of Couch to 5K. Am very seriously considering a treadmill though as it is going to be a long hot summer out here I think!! Plus I sometimes would like to run at night and could do that if I had a treddy.

It's funny though, the more weight I lose, the further I drop my goal weight. Has anyone else experienced this? It's like I perpetually have 10 kg to lose lol. My friend said to me the other day to be aware that losing weight has been such a focus for so long that I need to consider I am adjusting the goal cause I don't know any other way of thinking.

It got me really considering this point of view- now whilst I still think I have at least 10kg more that I would like to lose, I really am enjoying the weight loss process right now and getting fit. It will be a whole new challenge to maintain my weight and though I have had a lifetime of trying to lose I have never had to keep healthy at a particular weight. Funny how just when you think you've got the sleeve worked out how it throws another curve ball :)

But honestly what a great bloody problem to have!! God I love my sleeve!!

Have a great weekend all!! Cheers Liss

  7. Good luck with the presentation misty' date=' and I'm glad you're feeling better.

I'm so happy ATM. I have finally broken the dreadful 8 week stall. Jumped on the scales and bang 2kg gone! Thank goodness because I was starting to get worried that it was the end of my journey. I never gave up though. I am still going to the gym and eating right.[/quote']

Well done K8ee!! I think that has been one of the things I am still really trying to learn - that this is a long term thing and I need to take a longitudinal view of my weight loss, particularly now that in only have the last 10kg or so to go. Keep it up though!!! And congrats!!

  8. Iv got my operation coming up soon but I'm really scared and worried should I be ?

Hi Jewls, I think that with any surgeries there are risks and you'd be silly not to be concerned. As someone who had a leak, a long hospital admission and several complications I can now say that 12 months on I still think this is the best thing I could have done for my health. But if I had to do it all over again, I would make sure that I had PHI in case of emergency surgeries, that I had my finances sorted out so that should I have a longer than expected hospital stay I would be covered and that I had conversations with people about what to do if things went wrong (i.e. where to find my will, financial documents etc). However I am in the minority and most people on here had a "dream" run :) So be prepared however don't be alarmist. As I said, even with the leak etc this is still the best thing ever :) All the best, Liss

  9. Lissa - congrats on how far u have come. It is truest amazing. I have been following everyone's journey on this thread for a very long time (now who sounds stalker-ish!) and what everyone else has said is so true. U r such an inspiration.
