Hey Aussiegirl- how's it going??? You must be getting excited for your surgery- it's next week right???

thanks for the encouraging words my friends. jeeper you know the anti depressants cause weight gain? not on any at this time. i just dont get it. if i could i would get the rny but dang my tummy is so littleHi guys - as a psychologist I just want to add that not all anti- depressants cause weight gain and if you are taking one that does just talk to your MD about getting onto a different med. anti depressants are really important and too often I hear people going off their meds due to weight gain rather than trying another type which can really compromise their wellbeing. Not saying you would go off them but it's something I hear quite frequently

Melissa' date=' I was at Monet today too as I am also visiting Melbourne, but going home to Brisbane tomorrow (Wednesday). We may have walked past each other today and not realised. Wasn't it an amazing exhibition? I also recommend seeing the Geoffrey Rush exhibition at the Arts Centre. I am planning on seeing the Hollywood Costume exhibition at Federation Square too tomorrow morning. If you see this message early enough and have time would you like to meet up in the city in the morning? I am staying at Southbank walking distance to the city and could also meet you for Breakfast if it's the only time you are free.[/quote']
Yes Kelli!!! I would love that!! I can't believe we were both at the Monet exhibition!! What time? I was there at about 1-2:15
So I am staying on Exhibition St but if you can suggest somewhere for Brekky that would be awesome!! I have to be at a conference at the MCG by 8:45 though !! Hope you get this and we can meet in person!!

So I am in Melbourne for a conference but have had some free time so went to the National Gallery and the conference is at the MCG so of course I had to get some photos saw the Monet exhibit- incredible!!
Having a blast!!! Another NSV- walking all around Melbourne without even breaking a sweat!! Walked nearly 10km today and I wasn't even puffed!! Love my sleeve!!

Well tomorrow is my 12 month sleeve anniversary. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I started at 107kg and am now 74kg. BMI was 41 and now is 27. Was size 18-20' date=' but now 12-14. No longer have sleep apnea or need to sleep with a CPAP machine and far less likely to develop diabetes. Still have a few kilos to go to get to my personal goal of 68kg, but feeling positive and looking forward to working on maintenance plan. For anyone contemplating the sleeve as a surgery option I only have positive things to say about it and hope it becomes more widely used in future.[/quote']Yay Kelli!! Congratulations on your achievements! And further thank you for being such a wonderful resource for everyone and so amazingly supportive- even when some of us (read: me) are having mini meltdowns along the way!!
So congratulations on your amazing achievements!! I am right with you that these last kg's seem to be the hardest/ slowest but I know you'll get there!! You look amaze-balls by the way!!

Woohoo!! It is an awesome feeling eh
I never seem to get over that one nowadays...I always look how much room there is on the seatbelt.
I know!! And before I couldn't lower the tray as it hit my belly!! Now there is inches and inches of space!!! I love that!!
-
Flew today- first time post-op. last time I couldn't fit in the seats or the belt- the extension belt only just fit. Now??? Normal seat, normal belt that I had to tighten about 5 inches!! Tray table was DOWN ladies (and gents)!!!
Waiting for my connecting flight on a bigger plane - hoping it'll be even roomier
Doing a happy dance in my head right now!

Hey Aussiegirl!!
Wow that has come around quick!! Can't wait to hear how things went!! And to see those after shots!!
I know what you mean about hiding the bits you don't like- I feel the same way, particularly my arms and tummy. I am hoping that this last bit of weight off will help but I am not confident about it at all...

As for the carb thing my NUT told me that 100g carbs a day is actually low carb diet to begin with and to stay close to that because our bodies use carbs to function.
I dont count carbs or Protein just make sure i eat protein of some form at every meal
You're probably right- I don't count carbs but I track with my fitness pal and checked- it suggests 197 g of carbs per day. So sorry about that That being said, I seem to average about 60g of carbs per day do maybe I should look at increasing that too!! Particularly since I have stalled with my weight loss the last few weeks...

Okay' date=' I posted a picture in an album. No I couldn't tell you how to find it, but it's there. My Bike is awesome! Am I a little excited about it? Yeah, just a little.[/quote']Lol that is great!! Sorry to hear about your NUT- maybe it's an opportunity to find someone else? Her carb thing seems really off to me and not what I have heard others report or experienced myself ... But I am not a NUT

Just want to go to bed.[/quote']Sorry to hear things are rough for you!! I hope you have good support people to help you! Maybe seeing a dietician would help? Wishing you all the best!!
