  1. Hi all- it's been a while since I have posted. I have been struggling this past week. I am struggling in the heat to eat enough and am finding that when I do eat it's going right through me (sorry if that was TMI).

My question is has anyone else struggled with this and what can I do as my energy levels are really low and I am dizzy quite a lot - plus the stomach pains after I eat until it goes through me are pretty awful. I can't have shakes etc as they go through me too.

I am only eating steamed green veggies and grilled chicken or fish- keeping it simple but it still doesn't stay down. Yesterday I managed to eat less than 200 cal and today's about the same. This is not at all my intent but I just can't keep much besides Water down easily. I am getting over gastro from last week too so maybe it's related.

I have not consulted a dietician but am planning on doing so soon but anything I can try in the interim would be great :)

    Thanks!!! Cheers Liss

  2. no worries - totally understand - I will look forward to next year! Liss - do you just want to meet in Parramatta then - I could meet you for coffee at your hotel - it is a lot closer for me - it is entirely up to you as I know you might have been looking forward to going out in the city.

Parramatta is fine by me. :) I am not sure where I am staying yet but maybe we can meet at the Westfield somewhere for brunch on Sunday if it's just us? Any time that suits you is fine by me :)

  3. Sorry Sue & Lissa' date=' I won't be coming to Sydney now in November. I was stopping off on my way to Melbourne and that trip has been cancelled. Sue I will be traveling to Sydney regularly next year with my new job so look forward to meeting you early in the new year. I know you will both enjoy your catch up.[/quote']

Oh that's such a shame but totally understandable!!

  4. yes Aussiegirl' date=' it is a shame you won't be here. I am sure you will have a few margaritas for us! How are you going - I didn't get to see the take 5 article -wonder if it is too late to pick up a copy! Liss - My husband is going to pick me up after our meeting (so I can have a couple of drinks!) - we can give you a lift back to Parramatta afterwards.[/quote']

Oh wow thanks Sue!! I would really appreciate that!

  5. ok - sounds like Monday 11th November in the evening in the city is the easiest so far - There are heaps of bars and restaurants in the darling harbour' date=' cockle bay and king street wharf area - maybe we could meet at Critini's at Darling harbour and then deside if we stay there or go somewhere else?[/quote']

This sounds great!! Looking forward to it!!

  6. Friendships are funny things - over the years I have learned that they can drift apart at some points in your life and then years later you can drift back together again... so Kazza and Kelli don't give up on your friendships ...just put them on the back burner for a while and I can almost guarantee you will reconnect at some point! Getting the sleeve is a game changer not only for us but for all the people around us...it makes people reexamine not only their weight issues but all sorts of issues in their lives as they look at you and see what a brave' date=' drastic, determined way you were prepared to change yours! Some people just find it too confronting. Hey Liss - do you think I would make a good physiologist - ha ha! Anyway, I am not in a situation where I have lost any friendships (yet!) but where I have actually rekindled friendships that I had tended to neglect as I just didn't want to participate - I didn't want my friends to see how big I had got and that I was getting bigger every year. Now of course I can't wait for them to see how bloody fantastic I look! I think some friends find it surreal as I do too, as I have lots of comments about how I am almost unrecognisable (and I don't think they are just referring to appearance!) Anyway, it would be fantastic if you could make it down Kelli for our Sydney get together! Who else would like to meet up - the more the merrier! [/quote']

You sound like one of us already!! :)

  7. I am 37' date=' 159cm short and 103kg. I can't wait to feel as fabulous as you!![/quote']

Hi there :) I live in rural NsW (although in town not so far out) so get the isolation in some small way - this is a great site with an awesome bunch of people!

    So my stats are:

    Height - 175 cm tall

    Starting weight- 173 kg

    Sleeved on 4.09.12

Current weight is 81 kg. I am 12 kg under the surgeons goal for me and about 8 kg away from my goal (of 73 kg).

Full disclosure- I did have a leak. It sucked. But I have just been getting better and better. I now run three times a week, have started doing ballet twice a week and on "off days" do yoga. I have had so many changes this past year!! The weight loss has been the catalyst for these changes but the sleeve is really what you make it- what you need it to be. It's a tool- a very powerful one- and I don't regret mine for a second (well now anyway lol).

Please feel free to ask any questions- there will be someone here who can answer it for you :)

    Cheers Liss

  8. Thanks- after the leak, the weight loss has been pretty constant which is great- I had worried how it would go with the complications. So I am pleased with the results and proud that I have worked so hard to optimise the outcome - my measure of this is based on my fitness more than the scale though- I still don't own a scale at home, just weigh at work (I work in a hospital) so it helps me resist focusing too much on the scale as opposed to other things but for me, the vital thing after 2 1/2 months in hospital was strength, stamina and fitness

  9. Mother F'er....sorry I dont swear often but this is annoying. I will be in Vegas that weekend before a conference for work. I would have loved to have met you!! GRRRRRrr Skudbidz ..All the best I hope that the surgery goes well.

Ha! I concur!!! But Vegas - awesome!! I am off to Tokyo next year for a work conference but usually I am lucky to go as far as Melbourne :) have an awesome time!!! We will definitely have to meet next time!!

  10. I have lost 198 pounds and have about another 20 to go. The weight loss has slowed down but it's still been pretty consistent. I exercise daily (jogging, yoga and recently gone back to adult ballet classes) - I have been very fortunate though as I had a leak so am lucky to even be here :) still- sleeve is the best thing I have done for my life!!

  11. Thanks Kelli and Lissa :) It was great to see your pics from the weekend' date=' looks like fun. And you all look amazing!!! Catching up after a hectic long weekend, I am so exhausted I can only imagine how pre-sleeve me would have handled the weekend. Lissa, any dates for when you will be in Sydney?[/quote']

Yep- got email confirmation today :) I will arrive on Saturday 9th of November and leave on Wednesday 13th.

Can any Sydney Sleevers meet during that period? I am staying at Parramatta and I don't know Sydney all that well so where ever we meet will have to be easy to find :)

Can't wait to meet up with you guys!!
