    Easy freezer food?

    Hi everyone! I am going back to work soon, and I travel a ton for work. When I get home on Thursday night I need to get myself dinner, and Breakfast and lunch for Friday without having time to get to the grocery store. I don't like to buy fresh ingredients that won't be eaten on the weekend because they are usually very sad by the time I get home. Do you have any recommendations for good freezer or cupboard staples that I could use, or refregerator items that will last several weeks? Because I work and travel so much I often fall into the trap of convenience / take out. I want to make sure this doesn't happen again so getting the house stocked with things that I can fix easy will be key. Thanks for any recommendations!

    Thanks. I have been doing crock pot cooking lately. I'm not sure how well that food would freeze and reheat. I guess I should give it a try.

  6. Hi everyone! I have been working out more and more - cardio as approved by my doctor. Yesterday I was super exhausted from it and was hungry. It was a different kind of hunger, not the I want crap food and want to eat everything, but just I am drained and need something. I have been consistently around 700 calories per day and have the intention of getting it up to 1200 over the next few months per my nutritionists suggestion. Yesterday I ended up having two dinners separated by a couple of hours because of my hunger. I ended the day at 850 calories with 66 grams of carb, which is significantly more than usual. I feel like I should be ok with this, but I am feeling guilty and like I did something wrong yesterday. I ended up losing .8 lbs this morning, but I guess I am just terrified of increasing my calories. Have any of you faced this? How did you get past it? Thanks!

    How many calories

    I'm at 4 weeks. I'm averaging about 700 now. Probably was at 600 or a bit more a week ago. I'm trying to keep things below 800, but will be increasing in the next couple of. Months to get closer to 1200.

    Maybe try up ping your calories a bit. 500-600 a couple months out seems really low. I'm a month out and eating 600-800. I'm hoping to slowly g up to 1200 so my metabolism doesn't shut down. This is how my doctors office suggest. For sure make surgery you are getting your Water and Protein in. If you are working out, try switching up your workouts. Good luck!

    Well I finally made it home and the scale was not as kind as I hoped. My weight today is 251.8. I think I need to adjust my goal / expectations to 235. Thanks!

    Yesterday I had a lot of feelings of anger. I am almost 4 weeks out and am wondering if this is me getting frustrated with my lack of control. Or almost me being in the angry stages of morning the good bye to binges. My anger started at an under armor outlet with my family. My mom a fit 5'8 woman size 12/14 did not fit into their XL clothes, but my overweight father 42 inch wisest had no problem finding his size. It really upsets me how this country/ world is seeming so much more ok with overweight men than woman. Arg! I got really frustrated with myself because as the day went on I could tell I was being very short with my son. My flight home was cancelled, so I was missing my OA meeting which I find very helpful. I ended up going to a local meeting by my parents house. If was different, but I still think it helped. I don't know the point of this post, but maybe I'm wondering if anyone else has had these anger issues come up? Maybe I am just feeling it more because I can't drug myself with food.

    Hey! How neat. Do you go to any of the support groups? I have been to a couple, the people seem really nice. When was your surgery date? Mine was 12/12/13. It's nice to meets you . I hope you are staying inside and warm out there. I can't believe how crazy it has been out there.

    Great articles. The size discrimination really bothers me. My sister is 6' and typically ~ 180 and super fit ( she is pregnant right now, so a bit more). She lifts, runs and does yoga constantly, and still because she is a 10/12 she can't fit into some of these clothes. It is absurd! Arg. I do think I am feeling the feelings and it is tough. It is harder because I have been away from home for almost two weeks, so I haven't been to my therapist or support groups in a while. I'm hoping the weather in Chicago calms down so I can get home tomorrow. It is a double edge sword, I get so much support from my family, but am feeling like I need some me / alone time. Thank you everyone for being here Oh and yes the system - definitely the cause of all my problems.
  15. Well today is day 4 of my pre-op diet (round 2 b/c surgery was pushed back). I'm really struggling with hunger. I had a slip yesterday and I think that is causing the hunger to come on very strong. I have my food planned out for the day -- high Protein & veg, low carb (max 800 calories, 100 g carb, min 60 g protein). I am due to have a yogurt this afternoon and am trying to wait as long as possible so that it can carry me through dinner. I don't know how people are able to stick to this. If I could do this, I would not be here. It was a struggle to stick to 1400 calories a day. Arg. I understand the point of it, and want my surgery to go well, but it is crazy hard. Just venting - thanks for listening and not blasting me.

    My flight home to Chicago was cancelled, so I will be away from my scale for at least a few extra days. Sw: 256.5 (this is about 10 days old, so I will update it when I get home) Gw: 225 (this is slightly a shot in the dark - I am hoping I am closer to 245 already, but still very close out from surgery so not use how quickly things will move.) Thank you for organizing this!
  17. Hi everyone. I am 12 days out. I have been racking on MFP. Would anyone like to become friends? I find it really helpful to peak at other peoples food diaries. Having someone checking on mine also helps keep me on track. I am Stacy_WLS on myfitnesspal if anyone would like to be buddies on there.

    I get them. Often if I am bending over then stand up quickly. I also got them about two years ago after losing about 50 lbs. my blood pressure was pretty low from the weight loss. The doctor said it wasn't a big deal.

  20. I would not eat passed satisfaction, but ensure you are meeting your protein goals. For me this means one yo two protein shakes a day.
  21. I am at 700- 800 calories per day. So 10% of my calories going to these pills is weird. I tried Metamucil and it wasn't working as well. All of the fiber supplements have calories. What is surprising is how high in carbs the calcium chews and multi Vitamins are. I guess once you move to pills they don't have as many calories.
  22. Hi everyone, I have a question about your Vitamins and supplements. I have been tracking in myfitnesspal and am kind of shocked / annoyed atop many calories there are in my vitamins. I'm three weeks out so not cleared to swallow pills yet. This is what I am taking daily: Calcium chews - 30 calories (NUT recommend twice as much) Fiber gummies - 30 calories Multi Vitamin chewable - 20 calories So 80 calories sunk on just vitamins. Is everyone else doing the same thing?
