1. ok so I had my surgery

    November 2013 . i am 5 feet zero. I started at 192 and am at 152.

I feel great. My normal(most of my years) I was a comfortable size 10. I am a loose 10 right now. In all my years of yoyo life I could never sustain a size 8.I feel great. The awful scale is slowing moving down (ounces not pounds) but I feel really good./ I was approached by the drs office (hospital) to tell my story ( success story).I am not sure what to do. I have told some/ people...not everyone. and am I success story????? I am happy with where I am at so far. I have decreased

medications. I can physically do things that would have been impossible a year ago. I am happy with what I see in the mirror(except for the wrinkles ) but I am talking only 40 lbs. I don't know in the big picture of weight loss surgery if this is considered a success. I would like to know what you would do in my place. all comments are welcome.

  2. It's been an adjustment in our house. One of the things my hubby and I loved to do together was to cook and eat. He is finally realizing that we are going to cook what he wants and I will make it work for me. Tonight we made grilled chicken. Rice, corn on the cob. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers.

I had 4 oz. of chicken and 3 cucumbers. It was fine. I slow down eating so that I am not done first and hubby takes the left overs to work.

  3. I am 8 months out and eat what I want.( I do not pig out). It's impossible with the sleeve. I have never dumped. I have gotten food stuck ( it hurts) if I have eaten too quickly. This has been the best thing that I have done for me!

  4. I also have bad knees plus fibromyalgia, osteo arthritis, stenosis of the spine and a few other things and I know that a good pain specialist can give you Patches like Linoderm that you apply to the area for 12 hrs on and 12 hrs off and they will help. There are also other non narcotic ointments that also work.
I say again find a very good pain doctor that you can work with.
I can like you only take Tylenol for the pain because other arthritic meds are not any good for us any more. They can cause ulcers in our pouch.
I hope you can find relief.

Wow I have the same issues . I didn't know about the patches. Thanks for sharing.

I have lost 40 of the 60 that I need to lose but my knees have been awful this past week. Waking me from sleep. Which is also an issue.

I was hoping to get rid of most of my meds. I have reduce but not eliminated .
