Hi all.... I was just wondering what your 'hungry' feeling is now that you have had surgery- and what your 'full' feeling is? Im having a hard time recognizing the feelings....but this is where Im at: I think my hungry feeling is this sick pain- kind of like I either need to vomit or lay down. I think my full feeling is kind of like an elephant sitting on my ribcage.
This is depressing...hope its because you're surgery was recent I don't want to go through life with constantly feeling either of those feelings

I'm preop and I hate the holidays! People you haven't seen all year giving you the once over. I want to just yell I know I'm fatter than last year but just wait until next year!

I am 6 months out. I find that some foods are trigger foods for me. And trigger foods don't just cause cravings for that food. When I eat a trigger food like a refined carb I suddenly find myself wanting other refined carbs. So for me it's best to abstain. My life is much easier that way.

So, some good news: I have found that my tastes have changed and yours probably will too. I no longer want things like bread, Pasta, crackers etc. I gave up sugars many years ago, and I no longer have a taste for sugar.

With the sleeve, I can truly say I eat to live, not live to eat. It's a constant Quest to get in enough Protein to keep my body strong, enough Water to keep my body hydrated, enough Fiber to keep my digestive system working. There really isn't room for anything else and I don't crave it anymore.

Good luck on your journey. It's going to be amazing!
Love this post-I'm pre but I know this is true for me I just hope I'm rational enough to adhere to it post-surgery unlike now

I kind of hope I have to do a barium test. I want my doctor to check for every conceivable complication risk, especially after reading about the poster's sister dying. I won't complain about any pre-op testing.

They couldnt fjnd my vein so i got stuck like 7 times even after all of that they couldnt find it so i had to reschedual n go home
Ouch... Not to cut in but I have had that same problem at times-I believe it has to do with the skill set of the person taking your blood because sometimes it doesn't happen

Just try to focus on the why-she's your mom she loves you and is concerned about your safety-she probably doesn't know how to have the discussion with you about the surgery even when you bring it up

I'm really trying hard to break my sugar addiction prior to surgery and failing miserably. Any tips?

Based on my experience with some of my post-surgery BMs, maybe she was on the pot and hallucinating.
What's BM's?

Congrats on being submitted- hopefully you'll have a quick approval

Sitting in the waiting room now-waiting for someone to take me for my sleep study. I was nervous about just this. I'm going to be a wreck when it's time to go in for surgery.
Thanks for the heads up-perfect timing!

Did the Obama care people set up the website JK? It is very buggy. The home screen locks up. It took me 4 tries to finally log on.
Same joke again???

Are you positive you're actually logged in ? We promise not to take as long as Obama is taking!!!
You mean President Obama? Do you know him personally?

I did the samething. I deleted everything with surgery.
Why? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something

I am still pre-op but just wanted to say that I'm sorry you've had to go through all of that. You are a strong person! If it's any consolation your weight is really coming off. Hope things get better soon and permanently!I had surgery July 1st. A leak found July 5th. 20 days in the hospital. 4.5-7 weeks post op: home with a PICC, drain, home health nurse, CT's once a week. 7 weeks post op: everything came out and my leak was closed. 9 weeks post op: thrush so bad my throat and stomach swelled shut. 10 weeks post op: stricture found & dilated. 10-16 weeks post op: 5 dilutions to open my stricture. 16 weeks post op: return of left side/shoulder pain, convince surgeon I need a CT. 17 weeks post op: wait on CT preauth. And now here I sit 18 weeks post op and my 2nd leak was found on. Monday when I finally had my CT. Has anyone ever had a 2nd leak/one that reopened? What was the plan for treatment?
The Reasons I Would Never Recommend This Surgery To Anyone Anymore.

Endless great thoughtful post-another perspective that you don't hear often IMHO it's ok to tell people about your wls if you choose but just add the fact that there are risks associated with it incase they don't do enough research and are inspired by your progress
