My surgery was on the 9th and I came home yesterday. I'm having a hard time knowing when or if I'm hungry and when I'm full. I'm having a hard time sleeping for more than 2-3 hours at a time! Other than that things are pretty good, not really in any pain!
-
Getting ready to shower with this terrible smelling soap they gave me to use. Then leaving around 10:30 to head to the hospital. Good luck to everyone today!

Thank you everyone for some insight on what to expect tomorrow! I am so ready for this new journey to begin!!!

I had mine yesterday, much easier than anticipated. Ask me any questions you may have!
I was told I will have 6 port holes, 4 smaller and 2 a little larger. How many did you have? Did you have a drain in?

My surgery is tomorrow. I am to be at the hospital at 12:45 and surgery is scheduled for 2:19...yes, not 2:20 but 2:19, why I don't know! I'm getting really nervous and anxious now! I have my bag all packed and ready to go. Now I just have to wait for 10 a.m. to be on my way. Hospital is just a little over 2 hours away!

Hey everyone,
I'm a little worried about my surgery. I'm scheduled on 4/9 but as of right now I have a cold/sinus infection. I'm hoping that doesn't interfere with my surgery date. Anyone else know how it works? Or has anyone been sick 2 weeks before surgery and still not have any problems with the surgeon doing the surgery?
ANY input is greatly appreciated!! Thank you
-
I feel you! Here's to hoping those two weeks fly by! I'm here if you need any support! Have you gotten surgery jitters at all?
Yeah, I am starting to get some jitters about it. I'll be sitting there thinking about it and my heart will start racing a little! I know that everything will be ok though!
How about you, any jitters or anything?

I start Wednesday with surgery date of 4/9. Not looking forward to the two week diet
I start my 2 week preop diet Wednesday as well with surgery on 4/9. I've been trying to have some of my favorite meals now (of course within moderation). I'm hoping the 2 weeks fly by because I am NOT too anxious to start the liquids!

During my psych eval they pretty much asked about support from friends and family, lifestyle changes and your willingness to comply with them. They basically are just making sure you have the right mindset to move forward with this lifelong journey! Don't fret though, in sure things will be just fine!!

I'm in PA too. I go to Geisinger Danville and my surgeon will be Dr. Gabrielsen. My surgery is on April 9th! Anyone else that has had Dr. Gabrielsen, what's your opinion on him? I've only met him once, but he seems to be an excellent dr./surgeon!

I am April 15!!! Start liquid diet April 1. I am so scared I won't have the energy to work once only on liquid. Should be interesting
That's exactly how I feel! My job is moderately physical and I'm worried I won't have enough energy too!

Mine was just scheduled today, I get mine done April 9th! Not soon enough for me!

I have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow and I'm hoping to get my date then too!!

Hi everyone,
I have done a 6 month program. I've had all testing, lab work done, completed multiple different classes and support group meetings. March 4 was the end of my 6th month. I'm hoping the rest of this goes fast!
-
I was told at a surgery education class that depending on your job it can be anywhere from 2-4 weeks or possibly longer if any problems arise.
-
Hey everyone,
I'm kinda new here. Been subscribed for a few months but I just mostly read threads to help me out. I was wondering what everyone's experience was like and how long you had to wait for your surgery date after the initial meeting with a surgeon? Any input would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance!!
-
Welcome Becca12! I too, just started the journey and can't wait to get it done!
Again, welcome to the group!
-
Thank you both for responding! I've wanted this so bad for a while now but never had the courage to do it until now. I had no idea the process was so long!
-
HI everyone! I'm new here and just started my long 6 month process!
Anyone else just starting the whole process? People that have already started does the time go fast?
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
