Hi everyone. Hope all is well. Been so so busy. Just checking in: HW 221 SW 214 CW 195 -12.75 INCHES ROUX EN Y 3/24/14 I am having a hard time this week getting in Protein and Water. This is my soft foods start week ans I get the foamies so am sticking primarily with my Soups. 1 slice of ultra thin deli cheese has gone well. Rook some milk of magnesia abiut 5 hours ago when I realized I hadnt had a bm in about 5 days. Still waiting on it to work. Going to go read the lable again to see when I can take another dose.
Milk go magnesia did not work for me. I used the smooth moves tea & it worked, you can get it at Walgreens

Hi desig1814! My nutritionist recommended Smooth Move Laxative Tea and it worked wonders for me without giving me diarrhea. You can pick it up at Walgreens in the laxative section. Also the warmth of the tea feels good on your pouch. Best of luck!
Thank you! It worked!

What flavor do you like? I asked the girl at Vitamin Shoppe which one she recommends, I wanted to try one. She said "none! I think they're all gross!". So that was that. Lol, but I like the fact that they're 40g of Protein. Plus the Fluid intake.
I can tolerate the apple melon, the orange made me want to puke. They aren't the best tasting things but hey they work. Plus I'm sick of the Premier Protein shakes.

Another aspect to consider is our fat cells hold hormones along with un needed energy. Once we use up each fat cell it re-releases the hormones into our blood stream. This can cause strange or heavy periods for awhile. If it becomes too much for you see your regular doctor about giving you something that can help regulate your system. Good luck!
Oh good info...I'm gonna have to start back up on the pill

OMG my monthly visitor came immediatle after surgery! I couldn't believe it. 2 weeks early! My nurse told me sometimes that happens with surgery and the stress the body is under. However, one good thing about it is I never felt any cramps or had PMS. I wonder what will happen next month..
Yes! Thank goodness no cramps or PMS! But the flow is so heavy & it's been days!!! I just want it to stop. I feel like this is why I haven't dropped any lbs in 4 days.

Anyone post op having a bad monthly visitor?

Good to see all the "Marchies" doing so well. I'm 2 weeks out still on full liquids. I normally get my Protein in by having 2 shakes a day along with adding unflavored powder to almost everything. Still upping my Water even with the shakes I don't go #1 much so I know my water intake is lacking. Sip,sip,sip,..walk walk walk.
What's the name of the unflavored protein?

Good luck!!! See you on the other side!!

Curious when your first BM was after surgery? My surgery was Monday. My bariatric team called me yesterday to see how I was doing and one of the questions they asked was if I had a bm yet? I was also concerned about this so I have taken milk of magnesia the last two days. They said if I don't have one by the end of the weekend I'll have to try something different. I was just curious when you had one and how long after surgery it was? Part of me doesn't even understand how I have any waste to have one! Lol
I didn't understand either! My surgery was the 24th & I had my 1st BM weds!

I'm scheduled for gastric bypass the 26th and am finding it interesting how much the pre op diet varies depending on the doctor. I feel for those of you having to do full liquids! I'm feeling quite excited in a good way but am crying at the drop of a hat too. I wish you all the best[/quote
By this time tomorrow I will be on the losers bench! So surreal! So many emotions! 5:15 am it's about to get real!

4 days away! liquid diet is going ok. Anyone else feeling super sensitive? Today was rough, felt like everyone had something shitty to say. I don't know if it's just me cause I'm freakin hungry & my hormones feel like they are all over the place? I swear I could cry. I'm usually not a downer.

Right on Miss Mac! I totally feel you!! You have an acre in your backyard?! Sooo awesome! Sucks about the weather. I live in Cali & where I live it's 60-70 all the time. We just hit 80 today! So with this beautiful weather I have no excuse to get me butt outside. You are right I have been sidelined the past few months w the weight gain. I've been overweight my whole life but I've always been active. Gym, 5 triathlons, 1/2 marathon, mud runs, 5ks, I just can't wait to do these this w/o carrying 75-100 extra pounds! Finally going to be the athlete I want to be!
