    December Surgeries!?!?!?

thank you. Just found out that I need one more thing. I have to have 2 pre-ops and 2 post-ops with the dietitian. There is always something... lol. I guess that is good, but not for the wallet. I have to pay for this service. Insurance wants it, but I have to pay for it. Really?

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

Well, mine was fairly easy. I think they just want to make sure that this is what you want, what the expectations, support people, and that you are not depressed or mentally insane. If so then they will provide more counseling or such... So far the answers to my person's questions were answered well.... Yeah.

    New here!

It is so It is so true. Shaving off things that were ""extra" is really helpful. I have started to lose some weight as I need to be 5% of my total to actually get to the next steps. I am so anxious now and worry something might come up. I have to see the psych on Monday and need to have 2 more lbs off. I don't know which I worry more. LOL. I know that I am crazy, but don't really want someone to tell another person. I am on a journey that I want to see the scenery and such around me with different eyes.

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

I need to shed the 5% also that is required for my PEBB and then insurance. PEBB is a program for state workers in WA and it is one more thing to have to go through first before the insurance. I have lost 14 lbs and still have about 2 more pounds to lose. I need to try to do this by Monday so that I am submitted to insurance for final. I see the psych dr on this day too. I have been hearing horror stories as I attended my first support meeting in person. It was informational but at times it got to be personal issues. I was feeling bad for the few men there, but again informational and the first meeting. I had to really look at my calorie intake and increase my exercise. I bought a treadmill online and have been walking at least 3 times a week. I need to do more. They say to change up the exercise so I am on my way to researching gyms this weekend. I need cardio classes, makes me feel good but I need to research how many "fluffy" people are in them... any ways good luck it will happen

I am 47 year old female in the Northwest . 5'4" (thought I was 5'6" for a long time). Started this journey as high as 320. I am currently 242. Goal weight is 160-150. I have been struggling since I was 10....Thanks for sharing

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

sorry about the comment..my computer showed that the message I sent originally was crossed through the whole message. I am hoping that the inkblots are just a part of my eval. I am a counselor/psychologist by trade so it will be an interesting visit. I have completed all the labs and have passed most of them. The vit D is very low (the sun must not like me-and now I know why so tired and sad) and the diabetic level was a bit higher than normal (which will be lower and hopefully gone soon!). I am going to be going to a meeting tonight and see how that goes. I really like this forum and the stories we share. I am hoping to get a December surgery as insurance rates go up and the beginning of my deductibles starts again!! Yeah for all the steps

    New here!

Well, It does if you don't think about it everyday. I mean it is a daily task and change, but think of it as a positive change in your life and it will go by fast. Don't dread the changes it is something that will help you and do what you have been wanting in life. It is almost waiting for Christmas day as you want to open gifts or see the children open them. Then the day is here and the gifts are open and then you say...That is it? Okay I say this but I am in the slow days..I just try to think that way. Welcome and I am also new. I have found this sight at times overwhelming with a lot of information and I have found it to be very supportive.

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

Yeah I am so happy for you LuminousLife, I am trying to get all my stuff done so that I can get my surgery in December, but not too sure. I am trying to make it before the insurance company changes and the deductible is back to zero. Sounds bad doesn't it. I have to pay for the 2 night stay and the dietitian visits. So that is already a payment. And on top of that I have been having some car issues, so that money saved is now spent on repairs. I really just want a light at the end of the tunnel to be my light. I have been working on this my whole life. I completed my labs. The only 'bad' thing is the glucose (diabetic) and then the psych eval on Monday. I have been cleared from my PEBB group and now just have to wait (I think) for my insurance.. I am on the waiting list like you

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

So I am trying to prepare for the meals that might happen..It sounds like there needs to be protein shakes to make up a great deal of the meals. Is this true? I also am concerned as I read that there is only soft foods for awhile. But it has to have protein correct?

    So confused on diet :(

I am on a track now. I have appt for the psych evaluation next week. I have some labs to complete ans I have already lost the 5% required so now I have to maintain and join a support group and attend at least two seminars (I can be online). So I am just waiting. Was told that surgery would not happen until at least January.

    Things I will not miss...

no doubt!! I like to be just a bitch without the fluff

    So confused on diet :(

wow. as I read these posts it is scary to read them. People have many different diets and such. I currently like protein shakes. I make them with the whey powder from Walmart. What I think will be the hardest for me is the coffee and how I like it in the morning. Routines will change I can see. Yogurt is good but I can see this to be something that might get "old". Is the protein shakes specific to the surgery?

    Things I will not miss...

I have to say that reading your post is so true. I understand many of them. I think the biggest one for me will be the not feeling so insecure about the clothes I wear to work that I am ostracized! It is really hard to look somewhat professional when there is not much to choose from in a limited amount of money. I do shop at discount stores but the selection is very slim (no pun intended). I think I will miss the asking for a seatbelt extension on the airplane or the seat with more room (which usually has a screaming child next to you). Or not being able to ride the rides at the amusement park because the belly fat goes over the bar and the people are moving it to make sure you are buckled in. Or this happened the other day..i was in a ride and the seat belt actually fit, but it was the other seat's seatbealt and so everyone had to wait until I was unbuckled (as they had already put the bar down) and then re-buckle which again was a task....A comment about jeans...the missing of after taking them off the feeling of still having them on as the marks are still there (seams)...
