1. I think it's the caffeine carbonation and other stimulates in the cokes! My handy dandy book from my dr office said if it is an absolute must to have a carbonated beverage let it go flat then drink it.

Changing subjects here but I found a pb and j jelly muffin for rny people and it sounds sooo good!

  2. I wore pants today and for me that was a milestone! I could actually tell that I had lost. I will be on reg foods this coming Thursday and I think I am ready ! Not too sure what to eat though I guess make sure it's Protein packed. I know nuts are allowed but how far out do we gastric bypass people have to be before we try them?

  3. I am sorry to hear about your mom and dad! I was insulin dependent diabetic and on blood pressure meds high cholesterol etc ! I had the bypass for those reasons and I also had what I thought was a polyp in my stomach and we took that out but it turned out to be a stromal tumor that could turn into cancer! I only have my pouch left . I am praise The Lord on no medications at this time so I made the right choice. Also I had problems with reflux so the sleeve would have made it worse.

  4. Right now I just walk because that is all that I'm allowed until six weeks out! I usually walk with a friend after work but I haven't started that yet! My surgeon was dr Primomo with the Davis Clinic in Houston! Reop weight 293 cw is 262 and I would like to weigh around 135 to 145 so I have a long way to go! I am 47 yrs old and I have two girls one is a RN and married the other is 20 and in college four hrs away! Tell me some more about yourself!

  5.
Hi, I'm 3 weeks 5 days post op today. When I was 2 weeks and 4 days out, at my 1st follow up appointment, my surgeon said I could try soft foods. My problem from the start has been thinking about my pre op favorite foods. Almost obsessively I think. Now that he gave me the green light on soft foods I try to twist my meals into my cravings. 1st fat free refried Beans mixed with pico de gallo salsa with sour cream and avocado, about 1/2 cups goes down really well so then I took cream of mushroom Soup added green Beans, garlic powder, and soy sauce, to mock green bean cassarole and it goes down so easy (I chew chew chew the green beans) so then I took pureed tuna, avocado, cheese crumbles, and soy sauce, 1/2 cup went down easy but then caused me great sickness for hours afterward, with the dry heaving and everything. but still I continued! Then next day I made buffalo chicken dip with greek cream cheese and canned chicken, red hot sauce and regular ranch dressing. I ate about 3/4 a cup and it caused me great sickness again for several hours but still anyways later that night I had the ultimate: about 1/4 of a mexican pizza from Taco Bell which didn't taste like it did preop so I was very happy something finally did not taste good. I just don't know what to do to stop this. I'm thankful that most things make me sick. It's just ridiculous that I'm putting myself through it. Everyone here is doing so well sticking with their prescribed diet plans. Also, I am now thinking I am feeling hunger. It was so great not having hunger. Is anyone struggling like me?

I DO NOT like to throw up and will do everything to avoid it! I too am having head hunger and I am on soft food! one thing I am liking is the restriction even though I would love to eat more I can't . try to find something you like that is healthy like baked fish etc. But like you what I wouldn't give to have a burger and fries from mcdonalds!

  6. i just tried beef ravioli and it was great, easy to eat and easy on my pouch plus i could eat more then i can other stuff. I gave up for now trying to eat normal food going back to soft foods for now.

Wait, we can eat Pasta? I thought that wasn't allowed. I am so confused on what to eat. Like I eat protien only....I never have room for anything else. Like dinner tonight I took 2 slices of lean turkey from the deli, mixed it with some plain greek yogurt, sprinkled some garlic powder, dried onions and some shredded cheese. It was decent...but that was it....a 1/3 of a cup pretty much. Breakfast was one scrambled egg and lunch was greek yogurt with protien powder mixed in....am I eating right? So confusing!!

Your eating right! I was not told I could have bread the gastric bypass but if they have the sleeve they prolly can have it! I tried Greek yogurt today and threw it in the garbage it was yucky to me ! I am gonna go look at the website theworldaccordingto egg face to get some ideas I food!

  7. I am on the soft food phase but my stomach is wanting to act up on me now! I found that pan seared flounder set very well on my stomach everything else feels heavy! I have only tried corn tortillas but no crackers or bread! My booklet of instructions say breads will not sit well at this point! I think when your pouch is older maybe but then again everyone is different!
