  1. I am sorry that u have such an ignorant person in your life. I am about 4 months out from having gastric bypass. I have lost over 70 lbs from when I started. I was unable to play with my son but now can and LOVE IT. I was in perfect health other than having a BMI of 50 and knees hurting all the time. I would have to say this is to make u better and if she cant be there fir u she never was a real true friend to start with.

  2. I am sorry that u have had such a hard time. I understand where u r coming from. I am about 7 weeks out and on soft foods. I had to have one dilation already but have to go bck for second one in a week or so. When they moved me to purred foods I was upchucking everything that went down plus dehydration set in. Feel so much better now and things do get better.

  3. I couldn't keep any food down. Throwing up after every meal. I ended up in the ICU because I was throwing up blood too. After 4 days and 2 different hospitals my surgeon arranged for me to have a scope. My pouch was closed and she couldn't even get the camera through so I had a dilation. If you can feel food get stuck in your chest or throwing up constantly it usually means that there is a stricture. It was a very easy procedure.

I am not able to get foods done but am able to get liquids down but that is about it. Are u able to get things down once u had the procedure dine

  4. 8 weeks out and down 57 pounds. I have another endoscopy on the 26th to strech my pouch again because I have another stricture. I am so blown away by the progress that I have made,

I guess that is what I am about to have done. I am supposwd to be eating soft foods but not able to do that.

How did u know if u had the stricture

  5. Erin

I understand exactly what u are talking about. I have been having horrible pains and really dont go that much and when I do it about kills me. I have a

Question for some does anyone have an issue keeping things down on a regular basis durning thw purred diet. I get to move to soft solids this week and am worriwd because I have times where nothing wants to settle in my pouch. Is thos normal or not

  6. Hello! I'm new to the group and I wanted to introduce myself. I had my RNY in Syracuse, NY on February 10, 2014. Monday will be one month! I am down 21 lb! From 299 the morning of surgery to 278. I'm just interested to meet others who are February surgeries.

Hey that was my surgery date also. Glad to have u on this side. U r doing great. I am done about 15lbs give or take

  7. OK eveyone, I just wanted to drop in and say hello. It has been a little bit since I posted. I had my RNY on 2/10. Everything went great except it started snowing the day that I was released to come home. I was doing a lot of walking in the hospital to help keep the pain away. I feel great and love the fact that I had this done because I am able to do a little more than what I was b4 I started the process.

I am on purred foods but really not finding anything that works really well for me. I can get all my fluids in the problem that I am having is getting the 60 grams of Protein in but I am about 40-50 grams. If anyone has any ideas please pass them my way. Sometimes I think that I wish I could have a fat burger with all fixings and some FF (LOL) but I have been doing good by staying on the plan. I really do not feel hungry to often and if I start having that feeling, I drink more Water and it goes away so I think it is more head hunger than stomach hunger.

When I started the process back in October of 2013 I weighed 289.6, day of the surgery I weighed 266.9 and when I went for my 2 week check up I was done to 257.8 so I am on that road to a heathier life with my family. I have joined the YMCA for my family and we are all working to have a better lifestyle.

Hope that everyone is doing great and welcome to all the Feb. people to the losers side.

  8. I wish that I could do something other than these Soups it might be alright. I aam drinking lots of Protein drinks. I know that I will be able to have soft mushy foods in about 4 days.

    Hi,

Patti, really thinking of you on your surgery day. Looking forward to hearing from afterwards.

So glad everything is ok with you zoe and ncbabygurl I know what you mean about soups and liquids. I am fine with that at the moment, possibly because I know that I can have more but my body won't cope with it yet. Expanding my range of soups and trying to reassure myself that I don't have a problem with seafood and other things (at the moment anyway) is great!

    Take care

  11. Got my surgery time. It's 9:00 and I have to arrive at 7am day after tomorrow. I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon since it's 3-1/2 hours away and driving into a forecast of 7 inches of snow to come but it's all good. I just can't wait. I got all my financial affairs in order and I'm raring to go!

You be careful on your trip. I hope that everything goes great. My surgery is on the 10.
