    Desperate for restriction!!

All I can say is hang in there girl and don't get too discouraged (much easier said than done). Keep going to WW and the gym. You are smack dab in the middle of "Bandster Hell" and believe me I know how awful it is. I would see if in the future you can schedule your fills a bit closer together. Personally when I go for a fill before I leave the office I make my next appointment regardless of if I know I will need it or not that way in the 4 weeks or so I will know I can get in. Hang in there, you're doing great!

Big A$$ and airplane seat woes

So sitting in my desk chair and taking a measuring tape and running it from behind me a bit at the back of the chair and all the way around to the other side it's about the same as the length of Alaska's seat belts and that wasnt even pulling it snug so I will use that as a judge for my flight and think it will be okay. Worse case im only on the flight 40 minutes then i switch flights after an hour layover so I will know for that one which is a longer one. I am going to check out the spanx tomorrow and i guess here's hoping a couple more lbs gone by the end of the month will help out!

Big A$$ and airplane seat woes

This is why I post stuff like this on here because you ladies are fantastic! I NEVER would have thought of the Spanx idea but that totally makes sense, I will be investing in some of those before the flight that's for sure. I have to go swimsuit shopping so I will check out to see if I can get spanx too. I went to our local (lame) plus store and they had all the "tankini" style swimwear which is fine cuz that's what I wanted except...they had NO bottoms...clearly not going to work.. lol.

Big A$$ and airplane seat woes

Thanks for the suggestion about using a sewing measuring tape to double check seatbelt length, I wouldn't have thought of that but think I will do that tonight when I get home from work! I am sure I will have a great trip despite all this! Thank you

Big A$$ and airplane seat woes

thanks girlie. It's funny that it never even crossed my mind before - even when I was at my heaviest but for some reason I am very apparent of it right now. i fully intend to make out with the wall (or aisle) for the entire trip lol, we will be inseperable.

Driving from US to Canada passport???

Well to be honest, I'm not 100% sure but I know for driving Canada to US you are "supposed to have" a passport but i don't think the law has taken effect 100% yet. Are you not able to apply for a fasttracked passport to be safe? Okay this is straight from CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) website.... http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/security-securite/admiss-eng.html

    It's breaking me

This is part of an exceprt I posted on my blog but thought that I would make a post here as well, perhaps for added guidance, insite, I don't know .. something? haha. I knew that this was not supposed to be easy but I never thought it would be this hard. I am about one straw left to being full blown discouraged and completely given up. In the past 6 weeks I have done nothing but gain 4-5 lbs. I want so badly (or do I? I don't even know) to get back on track but each step backwards, each lb gained or no lbs lost breaks me just a little bit more and makes it even that much more discouraging. My willpower to keep strong at this is just about gone. I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I would fail so badly at this. Oh yah, gained another lb this week....
  10. I have to say that good on you, but this reminds me of a Klondike Bar commercial.. the one where the guy and his wife are sitting at a table outdoors facing each other and a woman is walking by towards the man (the back of the mans wife) and he keeps looking at his wife and talking to her, then it breaks to the "a beautiful woman walks by and this man didn't even lift his eyes of his wife" or something like that "he deserves a Klondike Bar" -always thought that was cute. Hahah that's funny - that made me lol at work. I have to say that I have never really noticed adverse reactions from people or have never had the honks and mean comments made from people in cars. But to that extent maybe because Ive been heavy my entire life I do not know the opposite or what kind of service I am supposed to get.. Will be fun to find out!
  11. Sorry I didn't get a chance to read the article but speaking from someone on the west coast (British Columbia) I had to pay for my surgery as it is not covered by government medical and for extended medical companies (through employers, etc.) most of them have the clause that won't cover WLS. For our medical coverage we do pay to the government (BC Medical Services Plan) a monthly premium but it is based on your income - to give you an example my yearly gross is $45,000 and my monthly payments would be approximately less than $20 for a single person but my employer actually pays that premium for me. Whenever we go to the doctor, the hospital, walk in clinic - there is no charge to us. If you got hit by a bus tomorrow the only thing you would be charged for is an ambulance fee which I believe is around $50-75 (not sure never been in one lol). The one thing with our medical system is that waits for surgeries, procedures etc can be PAINFULLY long. Obviously if it's a life saving procedure that is different but say you have had back pain or something and they want to send you for a CatScan or MRI you can be waitlisted sometimes upwards of 6months to even get that done. Lapband is not covered here as I mentioned but Gastric Bypass is - however, due to limited dr's performing it as well as how much they allot per year for it I believe the wait list if you qualify to have it paid for by BC MSP is approx 6 years right now.

    OMG! I got felt up!

That is fantastic and amazing and kinda weird all at the same time! Great NSV though! Feeling someone's arm muscles is one thing but pecs... AND thighs?! Yeeeks that's a definite feel up for sure.

    How much for your Consultation?

I was self pay and it cost $400.00 for the consultation
  15. Do not freak out about being able to eat anything and everything at 5 weeks. Until you have had your first fill (and depending on your fill amount and band size it could be your 3rd fill - or more) and have restriction it's up to you and your will power to make the most of the situation, sucks I know but once you get that fill and get towards a good restriction level you will be rocking It took me at least 3 fills to even notice a difference. And operagal, it's good that you realize you have "the last meal attitude" and know you have to do something about it as I had a VERY bad case of that and trust me, as I am sure you know, it doesn't do you any favours... Good luck everyone

    It's breaking me

Thanks Heather (and everyone else) for the support, I was having a pretty bad few days when I posted that and have been feeling better recently. I know it's a step by step process but somedays it just makes me want to cry, scream throw a tantrum, you know hehe. I had my last fill on Thurs June 12 and go for my next one on July 10 hopefully that one I will be able to get a bit more of an agressive fill. I am probably at about 6.6 or 6.8 or around that in an I'm not sure how big but I am guessing 10cc MIDband (I am not sure how much because my doc has never given me a straight answer on that total cc amount). I do need more restriction that is for sure. After this next appointment July 10 I am going to book the next one a lot sooner. I have to take 4hrs off work to drive out and back so I don't want to go too frequently if I can avoid.
  17. So glad to hear that you are doing better and your new doctor is giving you the help and respect you deserve. I was very appalled to hear of your treatment, that is just horrid!

    It's breaking me

Thanks girlie, I actually just had a fill on Thursday... so far doesn't seem to be any more restriction than the 2 before it at this point. Raiding the house to throw out food wouldn't be difficult since well... the house is pretty empty, need to grocery shop lol.

    Ready and willing!

Love love love the recipes, wonder if I can buy ground chicken? The idea of grinding my own makes me wanna ralph (I hate touching raw meat). I am not a "cooker" but these recipes sound tasty and just may be a good way to get me started on better meals. I think I am going to start meal planning like you do, I think I need it. I hate cooking so I try to avoid it and that is when things go downhill so maybe if I force myself to follow my meal plan that will help.

    Does anyone ever wonder?

Never seen the commerical personally - do they have before and after photos? Are they "photoshopped" - is it an actress? interesting thought indeed....
