  1. My surgeon gave me a prescription for 40mg of omeprazole a delayed release capsule, which helped with the gas bc I was depending on gas-x entirely too much! What a difference. I had my surgery on 12/17/13. SW 267 CW 226 Thanks very much for the info on this, Journey2BNThin...I think I'll ask about this. I've been doing the Gas-X thing just about every other day.
  2. I just placed an order with abouttime today...got one of each flavor in the individual packets, to see which one I like best. From there I'll probably go ahead and order the bigger quantities...do you get anything for referrals, SuperFab? If so, let me know so you can get credit for me!
  3. I'm finding now that the gas pain is really coming from the amount of food in eating. I'm guessing that's a sign. I'm on stage 3 now, eating mushies... And even though I'm eating the recommended amount from the nutritionist, sometimes it's still too much. As soon as I feel a little gas, I stop eating... This seems to be helping! And as far as our proximity, we should all find out whet we live and hand out one day... We could all go out to dinner and order from the kids menu!!!
  4. Are you using Gas -X for gas? I find it works very well, and very quickly. By the way, I live in Sayreville as well!!
  5. Through research, I see that the Optimum Nutrition brand that GNC sells has no Sucralose... And they also have a few different flavors. Has anyone tried those?
  6. I think I might try the About Time that you mentioned... Thanks!!!
  7. Hello All! I was just wondering if anyone else has had this same issue... When I was pre-op, i could not handle Splenda...always gave me the 'runs'!! For both pre-op and post-op, I've been enjoying the Isopure Protein liquids from GNC, but noticed especially post-op that I had terrible diarrhea. I checked the label, and found that they are made with Sucralose, which is indeed Splenda! Now I'm noticing that almost all Protein shakes, Protein Bars, and liquid and chewable Vitamins contain Sucralose...having a hard time finding non-Sucralose products...anyone else having this issue?? I'd certainly appreciate your input!!
  8. Hello Joe...Welcome!! This is truly a great community...I've felt quite welcome here from the very start, and you'll find a great deal of very friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive people here! My surgery date is very close to yours...I was sleeved on 1/27. So how are you adjusting to everything? Hope all is well!! Once again, welcome...hope to hear from you again! BryBro63
  9. Where are you from, mimimom?
  10. I definitely have the itching...and the liquid bandages are now starting to peel away...was given strict instructions to not peel them and let them fall off naturally...doing my best to try to resist the temptation!!
  11. So far so good...doing well!! Back at work, but I wish I had worked from home today...apparently NYC got this storm a lot worse than we did in MIddlesex County! How've you been?
  12. Stuck at work!!! I was sleeved on 1/27, but I'm still on full liquids...can't wait to get to pureed foods...my biggest thrill is getting strained soup for dinner! I was also told to walk, but stay away from the treadmill, since you have the urge to overdo it...I can't wait to get back to the gym again!!
  13. Any other Jersey folks out there???
  14. I'm one week post-op, and have lost 12lbs... Right now I'm 'graduating' to full liquids...Had my first protein shake, and loving it!!! It's the little things in life!!! LOL!!!
  15. Hey Jewelj!! How are you making out with the liquids?
  16. Congrats to you all!!! Hope all goes well!!
  17. Wow Tate, you sound exactly like me! Sleeved on the 27th also, and although still a little sore, starting to get bored. Going for a walk later, heading back to work on Tuesday. Are you off pain meds yet?
  18. Sounds exactly like what I was on when I was pre-op...After the first few days, you really get used to it... Look forward to that evening meal, and it definitely helps you get used to post-op. I found it easiest just to do shakes for breakfast and lunch, and the small meal at dinner. Just be careful not to have too few calories each day.
  19. Congrats to you mrsrny3!!! Great job so far...keep up the great work!!!
  20. Home from the hospital...In a little bit of pain, but nothing unbearable. Did have some nausea, and a little vomit, but this will pass. Doing a lot of burping, but luckily no shoulder pain. Now I'm so looking forward to being a loser, and joining all my other loser friends!!!
  21. Got sleeved!! Made out very well!!! Pain is not very bad so far, and things seemed to go very smoothly! It seems I passed the first leak test, and will have final tests later this morning, before they let me go home (if all goes well!). Now if only I could get some sleep!! My roommate seems to be in a great deal of pain! Please don't think I'm being insensitive, but it's gotten to the point where the staff is starting to ignore him (NOT a bariatric patient).
  22. Hello CupofJojo, Is your preop diet liquids only or some other type of restriction? It seems each surgeon has different ways of prepping their patients for surgery. Mine was only for 2 weeks, but wasn't all liquids or anything...just a limited list of food I could eat.
  23. I was sleeved today...or i'll now say yesterday...at 10am. The surgery went great!!! The pain is and always was pretty manageable, my throat is just a tad bit raw, I had one small episode of vomiting, and the staff at the hospital has made me very comfortable. But here in Jersey, the time is now 2:54am...why am I still awake? Because my roommate has decided to wait until 12:30 am to complain non - stop about everything, and now says the pain in his leg is totally unbearable. I understand that pain is pain...I really do...But even after medications were given and everything, I think he's just cursing and swearing and speaking at the top of his lungs just to hear himself speak...No rest for the weary tonight.
  24. Thanks much, HardWork13!! Where in Jersey are you??
  25. Congrats to you both!! You guys should put up tickers for your countdown!! I just got the call from the hospital, verifying everything and my time to show up is 8AM on Monday...it's getting real now!!! !!!
