  1. Hey guys... Im from New York. And I have my vsg with Dr. Ren of Nyu Dec 13, 2013..since that time I have really only lost about 50lbs. And slowly but surely you can see the weight creeping back on. I am always hungry... And even sometime when I'm not hungry I still want to eat. At this point I have been to the surgeon and she told me I am the only person whom she has ever operated on that hasn't lost much. Which hurt my feelings... ALOT! So since then I haven't gone. I know most of you will say u need to still go to your appointments but I can't face more embarrassment. My brother had a sleeve June 28,2014 and is more than 100 lbs out. I don't know what to do.. Where to turn... And I feel as if I'm loosing to food once more!! I would love to hear any advice that you guys may have for me. Thank you! Have a great day!!

  2. Thank you!!! Have you tried eating any fast food post op? If so what kind

Yup I ttied burger king which used to be my favorite but it just doesnt agree with me....nd I tried mc donalds n pizza...not as bad as burger king..but I said I was gonna chill out with it.... im tryna loose my weight by july which is my 19th bday... have u tried any fast food yet?

  3. So would you say you can eat normally, as much as you did before?

Nooo there is restriction I can just eat more....thats normal...I follow a lot of vsgrs on youtube nd their portion size is bigger to...I just feel like the activity level should increase as well with all tht food tht helps u loose....check out this girl on youtube her name is Beautyfortheobese.....she is def an inspiration to me...she is from london has an accent

  4. Thanks. I think my cravings are so strong because I don't experience that full limitation yet with the liquid diet. I feel I have a basically unlimited tolerance for liquids. I can drink as much as I want but I feel hungry. Hopefully once I get to purée stage I'll feel "full"

Lemme say this tho...that after the soft food stage you will be able to tolerate alot more...I feel like I have close to noo restriction....so get readyy for that...I can eat alottt

  5. So I had my surgery this past Wednesday so I'm 5 days post op. I am experiencing that "why did I do this" feeling and I've been feeling hungry the past two days which have me fixated on food & all the junk I'm craving right now (ie. French fries and a burger) .. Have any of you experienced a feeling of hunger a few days after post op like I an right now... I'm in complete torture... I can't wait for the purée stage so I can at least have some squash and mashed potatoes (to curb my starch craving)

Trust me itll get better I used to have that feeling an sometimes still do...im 2 mnths post op and things are changing....so give it time hun

  6. The BEST thing you can do is call your dr and get an appointment, don't avoid them, they are there for you. You should also get an appointment with your nutrishionist ASAP. In the mean time, aim for a min. of 60 - 80 grams of Protein a day, 64 oz of water/fluid and 300 minutes of exercise a week. That is what my dr recommended anyway. Whatever you do, don't give up. I went 7 weeks without losing a pound, got discouraged and now I can't seem to get back on track. STICK WITH THE PROGRAM! Your body will eventually give in and quit conserving itself. Message me if you want to for support.

I will definitely message u with any questions

  7. THANK U GUYS ALOT.....someone was telling me about a yogert diet....I think imma try it...you just eat yogert and drink Water but imma add some fish in there.....so you right I didnt mention what I have been eating but pretty much anything....I feel less restricted... so I feel like I been able to take more in...but also food and restriction is crazy around my period...I can eat any and everything....and when my period comes I dnt want to eat food anymore...when its done I go right back with tht habbit...I just have to learn how to fight the urge.... anybody have any tips on what I should do?? Around that time???

  8. Hey guys my name is Abigail. I was sleeved on dec 14... since then I only really lost like a little over 10lbs... I went into surgery at 237 n im at like 221...nd I been at 221 for a while now...im ashamed idk what im doing wrong...I haven't seen my surgeon since urgery because im ashamed.....I kno she us gona scold me...can someone who is 2 mnths post op tell me what their eating...how much activity their getting in...protien and Water a day etc...I need the help....my bday is july 22 and my surgeon told me tht by 6 months I should hve lost 65% of my weight...by the way im going I doubt I will...I need to get dwn to atleast 140 before I can have a tummy tuckk...so someone please help me...thank u guys!!! I love yall for the support!!

  9. Stalls do happen at three weeks..... just look at all the people on here who struggled with this after being told it

shouldn't happen. I think its very presumptuous to be told this. Everyone is diff and responds slightly diff to the same

surgery. Being told its not suppose to be is another disappointment in a already hard journey. Yes it can happen.

And did for me and I cried and felt like a failure AGAIN. I thru pain had to give my body the love and time it needed

to heal and adjust. Thank God I did and you will do well also.

    Thnxxxxxxx

  10. I give you a lot of credit for taking control at such a young age. As many times as I wish this surgery was an option for me at your age, I dont' know that I would have been able to make the drastic changes I needed to. I have faith that you can get a handle on it and not have to endure decades of dealing with obesity like so many of us had to. Give yourself credit for moving forward, and embrace the changes you need to make this truly a new beginning for yourself.

I always hated tracking by writing it down, I use MyFitnessPal on my phone and computer. Easy/on the go tracking and lots of folks on here use it too.

I actually tried it...but still no luck I know alot of people use it but I just cant get into the habbit of after every meal I gata sit and track its annoying...so thats y its so hard...but I think thats the trick I should try it again..

  11. I am having the same issue. I am 2-1/2 weeks post op and the first week I lost 16 lbs and since then I haven't lost anything. I am very discouraged and aggrevated cause this is when you are supposed to lose the most. I have not been able to get all my Protein shakes in because they make me nauseous and right now that is all I am supposed to be on.

Yea I totally understand...alot is making me nauseous now to...I cant advise you anything bcus we both struggling...only thing I can say is keep your mind at the finish line thats what helps me sometime

  12. OK first thing is you should contact your DR and your Nutritionist. If you are following the "plan" and excersising as well you should be losing. Stalls dont normally happen til 2-3 months in and then another around the 6 month point. They do happen and that is what i was advised by several people.. Stalls last 2-4 weeks so that part is normal but it doesnt make sense that u are stalling this early.. What are you eating? How much are you excercising. Water Water WATER also..

Id love to give you more advise but something could possibly be wrong also and that is why im saying you should contact your weight loss center..

I mean some woman was on here yesterday and posted something about eating 4oz of mashed potatoes. Cant be more wrong. I hope your doing majority Protein... I wish you the best and wanted to chime in ,,

    Chris

Lol 4oz of mashed patatoes....you know something that used to be me....like around week 3 I wanted everything..but a typical day for me is wake up do a mile on the tredmill in which I burn like 150cal... then I try doing a lil sit up etc all while having my sweat suite on....after like a hr I eat...I have like egg white.then probably eat again mid day... then again at night...it varies what I eat tho after Breakfast...you know something u guys are right I was just eating bear junk food..one time I ate cake...black cake....then another I had popeyes.....then another time I had Jamaican food that made my stomach hurt so bad I almost thru it up...but this was like a week or two ago when I was seeing aunt flow....I realize around that time I crave everything I want to eat everything and ny tummy lets me which is crazy..I know a girl she got the surgery done with ne same day same hospital same surgeon...she eats shrimp cake popeyes on a reg and anything u can think of and still looses so I thought the same might happen to me...but I see now imma have to work for that pound!!!more than other people.. so now that I told u how I currently eat I would love to hear how I can change my diet..and ill def go see my nut and surgeon...feb 14

  13. I think you hit it on the head, and already know what is going on. Aside from it being your time of the month, which always causes me to gain, you were eating junk.

Simply put, I think you're confusing your body. It is burning the junk, not fat. I Re-focus, start this morning, track everything and get your Water and Protein in. If you are doing all you need to, the weight will start to drop, but you need to do your part. It's hard to change old patterns, we have a lifetime of excuses why we sabotage ourselves, but the only time things change is when we change them. Having the surgery was only a small part of what we need to do.

You got this! Start fresh and follow your plan, if there is junk in your home, get rid of it.

Use this honeymoon phase to optimize your loss. It will slow down quick enough on its own over time, so this is the time for you to really do what you need to.

I will try my best tracking was never ny friend but I need to get it together cuz the fact that im not loosing...im not doing something right..just now have to put my finger on it and cut it out completely...thank you for your advice tho

  14. I know the feeling about having that temporary regret and wishing that I had tried harder before the surgery but I also know that that is temporary. What I'm concentrating on right now is making sure I don't go thru this in vain and doing the right thing NOW to lose the weight and that includes completely leaving junk food alone...for now at least. When you're at a stage where you can only eat a few ounces a day, JUNK food shouldn't be a factor in that equation. Protein and Water....and watch the carbs and sugars because they can surely sabotage your weight loss, even with the surgery. I started keeping a food journal just so I could better watch my intake of carbs (with juices & all) but it will really come in handy once I'm more than 2 weeks post-op and able to eat more. I've never like fish but I'm actually looking forward to a tilapia dinner.

Also, whenever I think about eating junk or NOT eating the way I'm suppose to, I think about this girl that I know that sabotaged her whole weight loss after the sleeve by constantly eating Gummy worms. She found out that she could eat them without pain, etc., and she ate them all the time because she had always had a sweet tooth. She lost a total of 45 pounds and then gained all it back PLUS more all within ONE YEAR! I REFUSE TO LET THAT HAPPEN TO ME! I didn't even know it was possible but it was.

Seruously??gumy worms made her gain it all back?... thats crazyy I refuse to get back to 252 my surgeon tells me that it is possible..in really trying by working out everyday but this really is hard.. tracking was really never my thing so its really hard to track what im eating cuz I hate putting in everything that I eat...recently I got this bad back pain its so excruciating I dont think imma work out until it feels better...thank you ao mucg for that word...and just like u said that you said u think about the girl nd the gummy worms and that she is your motivation for eating right...ill let that be mine to...I have to have some sort if discipline....also do u have and ingredient for tilapia?

  17. Well at just a little over a month out as well and I definitely feel your pain...I have no tolerance for milk or anything of the sort.... one day I had some milk and that night I was in so much pain I thought I was gonna die. It woke me up several times that I went to my surgeon the nxt day because I thought I might have had a leak...I was scared to eat anything but it was a false alarm...also I am not loosing anything...I cut out carbs and all the tgings I slowly added to my diet after lik 3 weeks post op and im stuck at 220.....well atleast thats what my scale says.. at the doc in 228...so something isnt right if im 228 that will mean I only lost 9lbs since surgery day...and thats a major problem...im so stressed sometimes...its so hard to deal...I probably really should have thoughg long and hard about this ill never be the same again... it bothers me sometime... im hoping for my 19th bday I hit the 100 mark..I started at 252 so if I could b 152 ill b so feggin happy!!

  18. Girl im 6 weeks and is hungry all the time...im beginning to think its sappose to b that way I heard we are allowed to snack throughout the day but small portions....so I cant promise you that it will get better just try to eat good choices bcuz ull end up like me I havent lost much and im geting depressed im working my ass off but cant seem to leave 220!!

  19. Cocoa butter works for me. Staying hydrated. You probably should talk to your surgeon about working out and when they will clear you. Two weeks seem a little soon to me. You're still healing. Also, patience is key to skin. When I first started I had a TON of skin but it just took a month or so to bounce back. Not completely but it's MUCH better than it was at one point.

Thank you...my one month appintment is next week...so hopefully they would let me.. work out ill try some coco butter and Vitamin e.. cuz I heard that works to

  20. Had my 2 week appointment yesterday. He cleared me to excercise, lift, swim..etc..also can use lotion ands soaps and like on stomach now. I purchase something called Bio oil to put on stretch marks and scars..my sister recommended after 3 huge babies..I'm also worried about my skin as my stretch marks seem to me multiplying on my stomach daily...around my bikini area and thighs as well..I started excercising and do cardio and weight circuits to build muscle..other than that I'm gonna purchase a really good moiisturizer that supports elasticity ..and has Shea and Vitamin e in it..I don't know its much else we can do.

2 weeks cleared for lifting??? Imma start tommorrow..whats the max?
