  1. Start exercising, however small it might be, NOW! The more that comes off pre-op that's just that much less you have to lose post-op!
  2. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 195.8 PL: 82.2 from SW Total PL: 126.2 Goal total pounds I want to lose: 152 so I have about 26 more pounds to go (goal weight is 170) My goal weight has never really been "set". Originally I thought about 175 but now I'm thinking 170. I guess I will keep going until my body levels out!!

    Fitbit

I have had my Fitbit One for about 2-3 months now & really like it. I have it synced with MyFitness Pal so it records my calories on that page. The One tracks your sleep & the little wrist band is very comfortable at night. I am thrilled that I got it!

    Protein shakes

I mix crushed ice, 1 banana, 3/4 cup 2% milk, 1 scoop Syntrax Nectar Vanilla Bean Torte protein powder, a handful of frozen strawberries. Mix in the blender. The powder has 23 grams of protein in the scoop.
  5. I am 6 months post op today and I feel fantastic! There isn't anything (so far) that I can't eat. I get the same "full" feeling as I use to but just with MUCH smaller quantity. Today I ate lunch at Chili's and ordered the same meal that I use to, the Triple Dipper appetizer. In the past, I could have eaten the whole thing at one sitting. Today I ate one half southwest egg roll, one boneless buffalo wing (basically the size of a chicken nugget) and half a chicken strip. I took the rest home & can make 2 more meals out of it. I work out 4-5 times a week but I certainly don't feel handicapped by my sleeve. I ate half a cupcake for my niece's birthday, I go out & socialize with my friends, I've enjoyed an adult fruity beverage. I can't say, for me, life after the sleeve is much different.... Other than I've lost 123 pounds!!

  7. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec 16, 2013) CW 204.4 Only lost 1.2 pounds this week but a loss is a loss. I'll take it. I'm so close to Onederland but guess my body wants me to wait a few more weeks to get there.

    Fruit...

I eat fruit all the time. My nutritionist just suggested this week eating fruit for my afternoon snack. I've had bananas, strawberries, cantaloupe, honey dew, watermelon, and apples.

    Nectar protein drink

I have the Nectar Fuzzy Navel and of all the protein powders I've tried, this is really the only one I can drink post-op. It has 23 grams of protein for one scoop. I mix mine with half juice & half water.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi all, just checking back in. I hit my first major goal yesterday, 100 pounds lost!! I started my journey last April so it took me one year to lose the 100 pounds. I've lost about 58 since surgery on 12-16-13. Went on a major shopping spree this weekend & almost cried in the dressing room when I was able to actually wear "normal" clothes (16) from a "normal" store!!!
  19. Sorry, I was out of town this weekend. On a positive note I officially hit the 100 pound mark today!! HW 322 (3/2013) SW 278 (12/16/2013) CW 221.2
  20. HW 322 (March 2013) SW 278 (Dec. 16, 2013) CW 223.2 So close the 100 pounds mark! Ugh! It seems like it's been very hard to get there. Only lost .6 last week so I'm pleased with the 2.2 this week. Oh well, maybe I'll hit the first goal next week.

    Random Thoughts Thread

I'm actually starting to get arm pits! I told my nurse coach this and she laughed! That was a new one on her! I said I've always had fat arms and now there is some definition. Lol!!
  23. Curios to hear responses because I have the same issue. I try to drink them & gag. I'm three months out and have a very hard time getting in the recommended protein.
  24. Very disappointed this week...only lost .6 What a bummer, but I guess a loss is a loss HW 322 (3/2013) SW 278 (1216/2013) CW 225.4
  25. I wish I had realized how quickly I would go through clothes sizes. I've been overweight my entire adult life & worn the same size for years. Therefore, I have A LOT of clothes. Now, I'm dropping sizes about every three to four weeks so it's been very difficult to keep up. I'm having to buy a few things here and there just to make it through the work week. I know, great problem to have!! I just wish I would have started sooner so I would be a little more prepared.
