  3. I didn't have a required amount to loose but I was required to be on a 6 month physician supervise diet to meet my insurance requirements. I knew the more I lost pre-op, that much less to lose post-op! I lost 43 pounds prior to surgery.

    Anticipation shopping... :)

I have been big all my adult life so I had no clothes to shop from in my closet. I have had to buy everything new, even panties!! I laughed and told a friend the only thing that still fits are my socks! So yes, I've shopped ahead. All during the summer I shopped the clearance winter racks. I got some really great deals. I've lost 145 pounds overall and I love shopping!
  5. Officially down 100 pounds from my surgery weight!!! I totally can't believe how much weight I've lost! It blows my mind that my brand new Miss Me jeans in a size 32 were a little loose Friday night!! Great problem to have! HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 176.6 PL: 101.4 from SW Total PL: 145.4 My original goal was 170-175. I'm thinking I should change it to 160-165 but I'll be even more happy if my body just keeps going!
  6. Back on track this week-down 2.4 pounds! HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 178.4 PL: 99.6 from SW Total PL: 143.6
  7. I typically get about 800-1000 calories a day. I'm just a little over 8 months post op. I walk, do step aerobics, and light weights 3-4 times a week. I generally walk 3.5 miles each time. I've lost weight every single week since surgery (although two times it was very little .2 pounds) and not had a stall yet.
  8. A bit disappointed, only lost .2 lbs this week HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 180.8 PL: 97.2 from SW Total PL: 141.2

    too many calories?

I am just a little over 8 months out and I am under 1000. I exercise quite a bit too (walk 3.5 miles 2-3 times a week). Everyone is certainly different but 1500 seems extremely high to me. Consult your NUT or doc.

How Long Were You Out Of Work?

I have a desk job and was out 8 days. Was in the hospital 3 of those days (surgery Monday morning & released Wed afternoon). I could have very easily returned to work Monday but it was Christmas Eve so I returned to the office Wednesday. I had VSG and no problems.

  12. Lost 2.6 this week. I "competed" in my first 5k yesterday & came in 3rd place for my age division. Walked a personal best of 48:11. Awesome week!! HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 183.2 PL: 94.6 from SW Total PL: 138.8

    Give it to me straight.

Again, everyone is different.....but for me recovery was no problem. I had never had ANY kind of surgery. None! So, I was expecting the worse. I had my VGS about 9 am on a Monday morning and used the pain pump the last time about midnight that night. I left the hospital on Wednesday afternoon about 2pm and went to Academy Sports and walked around for about 45 mins Christmas shopping! I came home and did a Load of laundry and then rested. I was off all week and part of the next week (because it was the Christmas holiday) but I could have definitely gone back to work that Monday. I have a desk job so that makes a difference I'm sure. Overall, very uneventful and no issues at all. I'm almost 8 months out and down 90 pounds!
  15. Finally home from vacation...boo Not much to report but I did maintain over vacation so I'm excited about that. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 188 PL: 90 from SW Total PL: 134 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  16. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 189.4 PL: 88.6 from SW Total PL: 132.6 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost) Lost 1.2 this week, I'll take it! We leave for vacation Saturday (7/26) and I wanted to be in the 180's so I'm thrilled with this week's results!

    What is the best fitbit?

I have the Fitbit One and love it! It syncs with my IPhone and with MyFitness Pal. I instantly know how many calories I've burned vs how many I've eaten. The One measures steps, flights of stairs, sleep, and calories burned. I bought it from Amazon for $89 which was $10 cheeper than they have it in the stores around here (Arkansas). I have recommended the One to friends and family.
  18. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 190.6 PL: 87.4 from SW Total PL: 131.4 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  19. HW 322 (March 2013) SW: 278 (VSG 12-16-13) CW: 192.2 PL: 85.8 from SW Total PL: 129.8 Goal weight is about 170 (which would be a total of 152 pounds lost)
  20. I was in a tight 24W when I started this whole process at 322 pounds. Now, I'm 194 pounds and am comfortable in a 14. I'm 5'6"

    Anyone in Arkansas?

Yes, I got a water bottle I think the day I went for my pre-op paperwork? I can't remember for sure. They gave me a small photo album as a "gift" the day I discharged. Dr Gibbs was fine. Very business-like, not much chit-chat. He talked to me about 15 minutes in his office for the initial consult and probably 10 minutes both days in the hospital. I saw him for probably 10 minutes at my post-op office visit. I had no complications so I was in & out! Lol!!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi all! Had my 6 month anniversary last week. Things are going amazing!! I've lost a total of 126.2 pounds & 82.2 since surgery on 12-16. I've gone from a tight 24W to a 14 or XL in the ladies section! I've never recall being able to shop in the regular section! This surgery has been awesome. I can eat pretty much anything I want, have more energy for exercise, and am learning to be more social and put myself out there. Well wishes to everyone! HW 322 SW 278 CW 195.8

    Arm lift / brachioplasty

I have a plastic's consult July 10th for my arms. As others have said, this is the first area I want to have worked on! I have not stabilized in my weight loss but wanted to go ahead and get information & find out the total cost so I can go ahead and start saving. Hopefully I can have surgery around Christmas or in the early spring.
