  1. I told my doc that I'd like to return to work after five days. He told me that returning to work and driving are a case by case thing. That there is no required amount of days I'd have to sit out as long as I was not too fatigued to stay on my drinking schedule. His main concern is preventing dehydration. ( Sleeving on Dec 18th)

  2. I was scared when I had mine, but did ok. They even rated me on stuff I didn't expect. Like showing up on time, IQ and my appearance. I then spoke to the lady for about forty five minutes and then took a series of written test for about two hours afterwards. ( Some of it was hard at the end.... I wish I would have studied a little on the vocab part.) I believe if you answer the questions in a manner that alerts the doctor to things like severe depression, suicidal thoughts or you not being able to handle this major event...they may recommend other treatment before they give you a passing score for bariatric surgery. So I would not exactly call it "failing" more than you may just need more time/treatment to prepare for this life change. Also... she wrote down everything I said word for word!!!! I know this because I asked for a copy when it was completed a week later. (A copy that I had to go get in person with a photo ID and sign for)

  3. When I was a normal BMI, I was really young and didn't care about appearance. I was a tomboy who wanted to dress just like my brother. When I finally cared about a more feminine appearance, I was too fat to wear the things I really wanted from regular size stores. I made due with makeup, shoes, and handbags, but it got old after a while. When I was actually fit enough to do anything physical, I was not concerned. Now that I am aware of potential health risk that will eventually catch up with me, I am 323 pounds with low energy! I can wait for the days where I can be able to run in a marathon and then put on something fabulous in the same day!

  4. I can somewhat relate. My husband is not feeling my surgery either. He feels that it is "just something that I want to do" and that it is not needed. (Despite my BMI being at 50.6!). I eventually told him that this is what i'm doing and if he is not going to support me at least don't say anything negative. I am hoping that everything goes well and he jumps on the band wagon next year as his own BMI is in the high 40's.

  5. wasn't referring to my pre op diet. To clarify, I meant .......
