  1. hello everyone.

i consider myself a success story, because of how i overall feel.

it's been a full year, today, post op.

    i range between 175 - 180 lbs, currently.

i feel happy with my weight, but i know i need plastics before i'll be happy with my body.

my surgeon wants me to get to 14- - 145 before doing plastics, but thing is, i don't think i'll look good.

i think i'll look like bones...

i'll be discussing plastics in january, when i see him again.

i started out at 300 lbs.

  2. I'm looking into a breast lift and all that jazz after I get to goal weight and everything.

My bra cup hasn't changed, but the band size has && now I've got an awkward bra size.

    It's not a common one.

    Eh. Boobs are strange creatures...

  3. I started my journey weighing 297.8 lbs (10/16/13).

I lost 13.2 lbs during the pre op diet.

Today, after eating / drinking, I got on the scale. I was amazed to see how much I weighed, even though I've ate today.

    198.0!!!!!!

I'm not finished with my journey, but I'm feeling so much better about myself.
My energy levels, health levels, etc are all so much better!!!

I feel so proud of myself, for learning how to take care of myself, thanks to this weight loss tool && all the doctors and nurses that have been on my surgery case.

It's not even been a year, yet I've lost 100 lbs (after losing that 0.2 lbs).

With how rough everything else in my life has been, it was so nice to see that number.

    I cried && I also took a picture.

  4. It's funny. I don't have to take any Vitamins, because I get the nutrition I need from what I eat.

&& I get checked regularly (once a month) to make sure that everything is good.

If you eat right, you won't have to take vitamins, unless you want to. But even as such, too much of particular vitamins, can mess you up.

  5. I'm currently in university right now.

I plan on getting my PhD in Psychology, with specialties in Cognitive Science and Behavorial Neuroscience.

I also want to get atleast my Master's in Sociology.

Currently, my minors are Biology, History, and Philosophy.

I may also go to medical school, to get my lisence to dispense psychological medicine.

As of right now, my dream job would be Forensic Psychology.

However, I also want to have my writing published.

  6. I'm going to be blunt and honest: Your friend sounds ignorant. If I had someone who wrote about me like this, I'd drop them so fast, their head would spin.

Obviously, your friend doesn't want you to improve your physical health, mental health, or life.

You can find a better best friend.

TBH, I can't really say how I truly feel about this, because every other word would be a curse word...

  7. Truth be told, I only miss being able to eat and not feel sick after.

Like, sometimes, I have to lie on my left side, because if I don't I'll get sick.

I'm guessing that sometimes I eat too fast/much, and it's causing discomfort.

I also miss being able to eat huge portions.

However, I wouldn't go back to being almost 300 lbs. I'm almost in Onderland now, and I feel so much better.

  8. Vegans that force their animals to also be vegan piss me off and I want to turn them in for animal cruelty. Animal ARE NOT VEGANS!! Yes, they can eat some fruits and veggies, but their bodies are designed for meat and they need meat.< /p>

Just because you're vegan or vegetarian, it does not mean you don't have weight problems. Sometimes, the problems can be from health issues, such as thyroid problems. With me, they couldn't ever tell what my problem was, because I was eating healthy and all tha jazz. Now, a lot of my family has thyroid issues, and sometimes, you can have it and the tests say that you don't.

My doctor thought that could be the case.

Now, I'm not saying I was perfect on the vegetarian diet. I'd eat really awful foods and in bulk sometimes, such as breads and pastas. As everyone on this site knows, bread IS EVIL!!

After getting the VSG, I've ate a helluva lot better, and I'm trying to always eat better. After I got the surgery, I had to eat meat for awhile, but I ONLY ate chicken, turkey, and tuna from the can. Now, I do not eat ANY meat / fish at all. I have been considering drinking chicken broth for Protein, but it kinda feels like I'm cheating my vegetarian lifestyle.

Why did I ever choose to vegetarian? One summer, while I was staying with my older sister, I told her I was having stomach pains a lot, but that day I wasn't having any. She asked me what I normally ate when I had pains and what I ate that day. She pointed out how every time I mentioned I ate meat, my stomach hurt. My stomach didn't hurt, because on that day, I had not ate any meat products. She told me to try being vegetarian, and see if it helped with my stomach and digestion. In one week, I lost 8 lbs and my stomach / digestion felt SO much better.

    • I can wear a few different sizes, depending on the brand, that I couldn't before. && they're comfortable!
    • Old rings are fitting again!
    • Lost my double chin, thankfully.
    • No longer in *warning* area of being diabetic.
    • Losing inches everywhere.

    Just a few nice things.

  9. My reasons for the VSG:

    • I was on the upper, warning side of becoming diabetic. Last time I had my levels checked, I'm on the lower end of being SAFE! I'm no longer in the warning zone.
    • Knee and back pain has been very constant.
    • Having to keep buying larger and larger clothing. It get so expensive. I just couldn't afford that, anymore.
    • Not liking how I looked at all.
    • I gained enough weight that I developed a double chin. I would cry while looking at the mirror. I've now lost pretty much ALL of my double chin.
    • My HANDS even gained weight. Now, my hands feel thinner than what they used to.
    • Of course, my physical health was important to me. But, thing is, physical isn't the ONLY type of health we have. We also have mental and emotional. I wanted all three to improve, and I firmly believed having the surgery would help all three. && So far, it has helped.

    I'm more:

    • Happy.
    • Healthy.
    • Active.
    • I feel like I'm "blossoming" because I'm now wearing pretty, feminine clothing. Before, I'd pretty much only wear men clothing, because women clothing looked wrong / couldn't fit. I'm now trying to shop at nice clothing stores, and I feel confident about it.

  10. I wasn't expecting the gas pains, the week after surgery, to be so awful. Even when I walked a ton, it still hurt so much. :C

Thankfully, that's forever in the past now.

I also kinda expected the weight to come off a little quicker.

I'm 20, getting more and more active, doing my best to get in my Protein, and I've only lost 54 lbs so far.

my VSG was Oct. 24, 2013.

I kinda expected to see a big difference, but... I don't notice much. Everyone else raves about how I look different, but.. I don't see it.

Maybe I'll see it when I get to the weight I was when I first started to super gain weight, back in 2010.

  11. I've used the Depo shot for over two years now. I don't want children at all. I also don't like having to have a period, and the Depo thins the uterus lining, so I don't have to have a period. The only real drawback, is that it messes with bone density. However, when you come off it, bone density returns to normal.
