    Getting sleveed now

Suko your feelings are valid. I strongly believe we all felt the same way. As for me I felt the very same way you are feeling, scared, anxious, excited, nervous and questioned my what if's as you are. You're going to be just fine, think of all the positives. I'm 1 month 2 weeks out and it was hard the first week, but each week that passed by got easier. Just take everything from hear on hour by hour. Do not think of tomorrow or next day you will stress yourself out. Focus on you and healing while in the hospital. Listen to all instructions given to by doctors and nurses. If you need a buddy, I'm available. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You're strong and will be just fine. Wishing you a healthy and successful recovery, stay positive and have faith. Happy New Year!!
  4. It's best to call your doctor to be safe. It's very common from what others have experience and sounds like gas. I had my WLS on 11/14. I didn't feel much pain while in the hospital, but Ong 2nd night home, I was already all Meds, took warm shower and boom, that's when I felt my first experience of pain, it hurt so bad, right below my rib cage, I thought I might of hurt an incision inside my stomach because pain was do severe I doubted it could be gas. It hurt to drink, inhale or cough. I ended up taking my first tsp of Tylenol w:codiene but didn't help much. As I woke up at 5am, it dawned on me I hadn't passed gas since I left the hospital or had a BM I'm 2 days. I called the doctor first thing and nurse told me to drink milk of magnesium, took about 3 hours and it kicked in, the pain subsided slowly but surely but the gas had left my tummy sore. My son suggested I drink a warm cup of peppermint tea ( he's a master ) and within 5 minutes I let out more gas and my nauseated feeling went away. Peppermint is by far the best pain reliever to hand around. Another WLS friend experienced lots of shoulder pain and went to see doctor and turned out to be pneumonia. It's really important to do the inhaler lung exercises as well. Hope you feel better. Best wishes.

    Calling the doctor!

Hope you're feeling better. It sounds like gas. My WLS was 11/14 and experienced the same pain. It was all gas, and your incision towards left side will be more sensitive since it's the one the they removed what needed to come out. Drink peppermint tea, it's been my gas and nauseated reliever, especially after drinking the milk of M and gets rid if the gas brings comfort right away.

    How much has everyone lost

HW 266 SW 252 11/14/13 CW 244 to 242 keeps fluctuating GW 165 From reading November post, most of us are in a stall, including me. I feel guilty eating my small meals. It makes me feel like that's causing me not to lose weight, even though my daily calories are around 500. I get all my fluids, Proteins and most Vitamins in. Not getting all my waking in due to low back and knee injury.

    Calling all September 24th buddies

Congratulations to all of you on your weight loss success!!!! Reading your post are motivating me at a times I'm wondering if my experience is normal. I had my WLS on 11/14/13, SW 266, includes pre-op CW 242, GW 165. I thought to join in on the September group to learn from your experiences. Everyone on my November group seems be in what most are referring a "stall" and I'm right there with them. I'm getting in all my fluids, Proteins and small meals. My greatest challenge is not walking enough due to low back and right knee injury. I feel guilty when I eat my small meals, as if it's causing me not to lose weight. Few questions Did you experience this as well, this stall within your 4 to 6 weeks post-op? When did you start losing or seeing results again, like when on pre-op liquid diet? What are you using for your scars? Are you shedding lots of hair? What Iron Vitamins taste or works for best you? Thank you in advance for your feedback and experiences!! Mrs Rookie! : )

  10. I'm T2 diabetic for 6 yrs, was on orals x2 daily and hbp as well. When I met surgeon I went in wanting the lapband, he suggest the sleeve due to diabetes. My surgery was 11/14/13 weighing 266, today 239, as soon as I starred my pre-op 2 wks liquids, my bs daily were from 80 to 129. Pcp asked me to stop orals for diabetes, 3wks post-op and still off diabetes meds and hbp. I went to see my pcp on Tuesday to find out if I'm still a diabetic but she asked me to wait until 2 more wks for blood lbs and will know by then then. Currently my bs upon waking up have been from 80 to 128, one morning only was 180 idk why. Overall I'm glad my surgeon suggested the sleeve, I have faith my diabetes will be gone with the WL. Do your research and go with what you feel is best for you and your health. We are all unique so what's changed for some, may not be the case for others. Best to discuss with your doctor. Good luck, which ever one you go with, you will still be successful and healthier in the long run.

Weird Feet Dry Cracked Feet Problem

Vaseline on feet at night time covered with socks moisturizes feet and helps keep feet from drying up. Be careful walking on tile or getting into rub, feet are super slipper. RJ's and Gamegirl, Where do you purchase your prim oil and gel from?? Do you drink it or rub it into skin? RJ's is gel and Gamegirl is oil. RJ's did I also see you post in another post about using what??? for the stitches scars? I was trying to look for it, I believe you said the one you are using worked better for you than what others used. What are you using for your scars??
  12. I just confirmed my surgery for 11/15/13 I'm suddenly nervous. I'm type 2 diabetic and wondering if my liquid diet (start 11/1) is going to help my sugar levels stay normal. It's good to hear the truth and what works and what doesn't and ideas to keep pre-op diet going and for pos-op as well I keep wondering if or anyone regrets having the WLS after thinking they were 100% ready. Please share the good, bad and ugly. Thank you for sharing.

    Anyone getting banded in Nov?

I'm sleeved 1 wk 1day post-op I had back pain and MAJOR gas pain from not passing gas or BM. I didn't think or know it was gas, thought it was just pain from surgery and incisions. That gas pain travels anywhere including shoulders My son made me all natural peppermint leaves organic tea, 8oz, within 5 minutes my gas pain went away and helped me pass gas. Try a warm cup of peppermint tea. Hope you feel better.

    Anyone regret WLS and why?

Hello, yes 1wk and 1day. I'm learning something new everyday, it's truly a new lifestyle. I feel that as much as we research and learn about the WLS sleeve, it's doesn't do much justice until you're actually sleeved and living it. I've been drinking 90 to 100oz of fluids daily includes my Proteins and getting in my fluids No more diabetes or hbp meds. Thxgoodness!! My worst expetience this week Tuesday was MAJOR pain I honestly thought I had hurt my internal incisions and prob had to go back to hospital, it was so bad I couldn't breath or sip my drink or lie on my rightsude and it turn out to be gas from not having a bowel movement/gas. Because I was so focused on drinking all fluids and proteins I lost track on passing gas. Passing gas/burping is crucial for us after the surgery. Wednesday morning it dawned on me I hadn't gone or passed gas. As soon as I did, it relief my pain about 70% but I still had pain, called my surgeon and instructed me to drink 15 ML milk of magnesia to have a complete BM, the milk of M worked but then I was super nauseated. Luckily my son offered to make me a 8oz cup of peppermint tea. He's going into all natural organic tea business and knows which tea are good for health benefits. And had told me before but I hadn't tried it, but with so much pain I was desparate and warm tea sounded good. As soon as I drank my tea within 5 minutes my pain went away, passed more had and slept thru entire night. Pain was gone 100% and hasn't come back. Lifesaver!!! Now I can actually feel my stitches healing and sometimes feel itchy, good sign Other issue I've had is feeling shaky upon waking up to point it feels like I'm going to hyperventilate. It subsides when I start sipping on my Protein drink but still continues randomly throughout day. I haven't been getting in my 1 mike walk. Grrrr! I'm not dehydrated or low on proteins, I've been accomplishing all fluids. My blood sugars and blood pressure are all normal too. So today I called doctor and he sent me to go do lab work but won't get results til tmrw or Sunday. I see him on Monday anyways to have my stitches removed. So I'm doing good but could be doing better if I can get rid of this shaky, dizzy, lightheaded feeling. I'm not able to drive, that's how bad I feel. I haven't weighed myself as that doesn't seen so important right now, until I feel 100% healthy and strong. I hope our other fellow November Sleevers are doing well Thank you for asking : ) It's so important for us to share the good, bad and ugly. PS Peppermint tea: ****highly recommend having all natural tea peppermint leaves around to make fresh or purchase prepacked. My son will be selling it soon, so let me know if anyone is interested.

    Help With Symptoms.

I'm glad to hear your mystery is resolved, good to know so you can address it. Well my doctor asked me to go to the lab for some blood work, so I did. Hopefully I hear back from them this wknd. I was so weak to drive myself, I had to ask my mom to drive me, today I couldn't get my walking done. Hopefully tmrw is a better day. Thank you for sharing and hope you don't get the shakes anymore. Take good care.

    Help With Symptoms.

When was your WLS? Have you had the shakes before or until after?? I'd like to learn what the doctor's tell you is causing it? Have they done lab work to check your everything's low on a Vitamin? Where you a diabetic or hypoglecmic before? I just had my WLS sleeve 1wk ago, I called my surgery doctors office this morning to ask or get suggestions to help me. I've been waking up feeling shaky and light headed. I shouldn't be dehydrated because I'm drinking all my Proteins, drinking 100z of fluids daily, blood sugar are good too. I'm not sure if I'm still hypoglecmic or not or diabetic type 2 anymore but plan to see my pcp next week. This shaky things feels horrible, I'm able to cope with it because I'm home recovering but worry about what if this horrible shakes comes on while driving. Hope you feel better and get results soon, pls keep us posted, it's so important to share our journey. Feel better.
  20. Today 1 week post-op. I've been waking up feeling super shaky, my blood sugars are normal, not taking any pain meds. Once I drink my Protein drink I feel ok, but take about 1 hr to shake it off. Did anybody go through this? Are you still felling shaky? How long did it take for it to stop? What did you do to help it?
  21. I suffer from anxiety, but I don't think I'm stressing. This is a shaky feeling, like when blood sugars are low, but mines are normal. It feels, like your going to faint. I've been drinking 100oz fluids daily before I go to bed. I'm trying to up my calorie intake too. But unclear why I feel this way. I'm going to call my doctor tmrw morning if I wake up shaky again. Thx u for replying, much appreciated : )

    November buddies where are you?

Thx u soonerorlater, I really needed to hear positive feedback. Today marks 1wk post-op and the pain the night before was simply hell. Yesterday I focus on passes gas ( sorry tmi) it helped, but walking is just not cutting it. I'm sooooo lucky my son is process of opening up his organic all natural tea business. After drinking milk of magnesia I felt so nauseated, he made me an 8oz cup of peppermint leaves tea. OMG!!!! It helped right away, took away nausea and the gas pain and helped pass more gas. I slept through the whole night. ****Peppermint tea is now priority to drink day! I've been waking up feeling super shaky, do you or anyone else during your 2 weeks of post-op?? Does it stop?? I'm drinking plenty of fluids, bs at normal. It freaks me out.

    Anyone getting banded in Nov?

I ended up getting the sleeve last Thursday 11/14, but the nurse did talk to both groups LB/Sleeves about the gas pain, it can radiate from low abdominal to upper rib cage, neck, shoulder and yes back pain. It's all gas. I had my 1st last night, I thought it was my internal staples and was in so much pain, under my right rib cage, it hurt to inhale. I walked around for a while and didn't help, I tools my Tylenol w/codienecand it helped a bit. I realized this morning, I didn't pass any gas yesterday nor had a BM since Sunday, I got caught up in making sure I had all my fluids and Protein I forgot to try to pass gas. I finally did both toads but still in some pain, so nurse told me to drink 15ML of Milk of Magnesia today. If you haven't passed gas or had a BM, it will cause gas to go where it can. Hope you feel better. PS sorry TMI but important to share about passing gas, it's hurt more than recovery in hospital.
