You haven't been. You're a good one, Beladonna723. I'd like to hear the story about that forum name. Means pretty woman in Italian and it is also a drug used for GI spasms>>>LOL

Your opinion counts....... but maybe not.
No they were not malicious.. they were misinterpreted. I just want to move on now. We have wasted far too long on this thread. Thanks for the feedback. I totally get where you are coming from and I concur. The part that sent me over the edge is the comment that read "you need coaching'..... Totally uncalled for.

I really am over it now. I can pick my battles wisely and I would never be intentionally malicious.... unless its warranted. Up until now I do not believe I have been. There will be members whom I enjoy their reads and responses and others who's posts make me want to slit my wrists and set myself on fire. Nonetheless... if they are allowed to voice their opinion so should I. I will put my claws away now. Rarrrrrrr.

does anyones insurance cover their bariatric protein powder
or Vitamins? I have a plan that you can use either 250.00 a year on supplements or vitamins but up until now I been using that money toward gym membership. I want to continue using it for my gym membership. I want to know if perhaps anyone gets Rx's for Protein powder.. like a medication and have had it filled and pay a copay. (I know.... its a stretch). That stuff is so expensive. If not I am also looking for tasty affordable options. Right now I pay 40.00 for a 10 day supply that is 120.00 a month. I need to cut that cost a tad. Thanks in advance.

How much did you lose the first 3-4 months? I want to be out of the 200+ Club by summer.

Pre op diet
Well I don't like it! Lol I'm paying a lot of money and enduring a lot of pain to lose weight! I better start losing soon... Talk about discouraging! I'm 10 days post op and I finally saw the scale move today! Must have been pretty overloaded with fluid and swelling. I'm so impatient too.... Everytime I get off the couch I ask my husband "am I skinny yet?"

Thank you very much for that.

normal not to be overly nervous?
My anesthesiologist injected me with numbing meds before he started my IV (I was surprised)...and crazy as it sounds..... they are making needles SOOOOOOOO sharp these days you barely feel it when you are getting stuck.

I was stoked the entire time too! I was smiling all the way into the O.R. Ppl probably thought I was nuts... I even sent my husband home.

I can barely get much food in myself being only one week post op and I do not feel much like eating to be honest. I definitely hope to be able to get in more than 700 calories, eventually.... I personally do not think (for me) that would be healthy in the long run to try and sustain on such few calories. You have had great success and I congratulate you. I can't wait til I get 50 lbs off and be out of the 200plus club.

Fast or Slow... I know without the sleeve I would probably either be heavier or the same come summer. I am so happy to have this tool. Even if it takes me two years to get to my goal, I knew I wouldn't be able to do it without the help of this sleeve. If it were that easy, I would have not spent half my life overweight. Thanks for everyone who posted their progress... I just think it is great motivation. Even those who consider themselves 'slow losers' are still winners in my book.

Worried about blood clots and travel
Wheelchair is a great suggestion!

Your opinion counts....... but maybe not.
This site has been a great inspiration and resource for me. Most members have been a fantastic inspiration to me. I feel as a nurse I also have some useful information to share even though I am freshly post op. I like to post encouraging words and add to something if I feel it is useful. What I don't find useful are comments that criticize a post or comment. If you do not like something a member posts... keep it moving. No one needs comments that are negative. I was told today that I 'need more coaching'.... and I am setting myself up for disaster, disappointment, self-sabotage whatever merely b/c I was inquiring members to post their progress (regarding lbs lost) in the first few months post op. I completely understand everyone progresses differently. I was merely inquiring. I'm a little excited, pardon me. So for those who feel compelled to leave a sermon on how this is a recipe for disaster please move on without imposing your two cents, it is not wanted or warranted. Thanks. P.S. That includes this post.

Time off after Sleeve
I am a nurse manager at a rather busy outpatient clinic. I took 3 weeks off. I could probably go back next week b/c I feel good but I am just so fatigued still from the actually surgery. Our surgeon allows up to 4 weeks. Many ppl on here seem to go back after two weeks if they have a sit down job. Hope this helps. My son and hubby are driving me nuts.... I can't wait to get back.

Congrats! There are a lot of ppl on here who genuinely want to help and offer suggestions that are useful. All the other unwanted useless inaccurate comments I plan to ignore moving forward. I am not going to let the ignorance of some ppl run me off.

Worried about blood clots and travel
Ask if they will give you heparin shots post op. Make sure they do (I am sure they do... it is kind of standard). If you are prone to clots they may even suggest you do lovenox shots after you are discharged. The plane ride is a short one, right? I don't think you will have any problems. Get up a few times and walk around during your trip back.
