  1. Love love love it! Lord we have the same taste ahahahah my friends call me designer addict :) great job!

THANKS! I am obsessed with that room. There is even a bar in one of those cabinets... got the martini glasses and the shaker in it. Waiting til I can fit clothes and enjoy a cocktail then I will never leave that room.

I used to be a label whore. Collected a lot of goods over the years.

  2. Hi Melissa:

Are you taking gasX and/or an anti-spasmotic such as Bentyl? GasX helps and the Bentyl was prescribed for me along with Prevacid.

If you dislike shakes how about trying to make your own with Greek Yogurt? A cup of it has over 20g Protein. Remember that your body cannot absorb more than 30g at a time so even if you took a 60g Protein pill only half would get absorbed.

I also been eating cottage cheese. I buy the whipped kind... tastes the best to me... don't like the chunkier ones.

I am sick of everything (with regards to food) right now and I feel your pain.

You are freshly post op and those spasms of pain in your belly get better. I only get them now when I either eat something I shouldn't i.e.. carbs or I am reaching fullness.

I really do not feel hungry but I feel I should be eating... force of habit I guess.

  3. Nothing wrong with a little negotiation! Afterall.... you are sacrificing your privacy/confidentiality. I would present it like "I would love to do this because it is for a good cause... I am honored to have been chosen and I do not want to make this about me But...... " Can't hurt. Maybe they can wave hospital stay. I am sure you will have to still pay surgeon and anesthesiologists.

  5. OMG... that is amazing and such great inspiration!!!! You look amazing.... CONGRATS! I am two weeks post op and praying to loose 50 before my bday in July!! Your success makes that goal seem very tangible! Hard to believe you have had such a radical transformation in such a short time. GoD love it!

What are you doing besides running? Do you have any tips or anything to share? Would love to know.

Again.... Great Job...Your determination definitely paid off> You look fantastic.

  6. I have posted this suggestion in several threads. I cannot stress enough how AWESOME Organic Hemp Protein Hi-Fiber powder is. Everyone keeps suggesting drugs. This is all natural. One of THE best plant Proteins out there. Put it in your shakes. Three tablespoons is all you need. I put it in my first shake of the day. Been regular ever since and it is not painful cramping like what Milk of Mag or Mag Citrate, Dulcolax or any of those other drugs cause. I bought it at Wegmans Grocery store in health food section. Check out the website www.Nutiva.com

    Good luck.

  7. the surgery itself is relatively a short procedure... about an hour. My surgeon does not insert foley. HOWEVER.... I required one after b/c a side effect of anesthesia is urinary retention. I had it and I knew I was retaining and I asked to be catheterized. They removed it the next day. I had urinary hesitancy for several days after but it finally resolved.... I hope.

  8. I absolutely love Hemp Protein powder (I get the hi-Fiber kind). I have to start experimenting more with recipes that call for more plant based Proteins. I feel the best when I eat clean and stay away from as many processed, packaged things. That is why I am leaning more toward making my own shakes instead of the store bought.

Please share recipes as you find them. I love discovering cleaner more veggified foods! I'm going to experiment with making some nut cheeses.

Okay so I know two awesome health and wellness guru's personally in my city. One was a friend and I say WAY because I asked her to help me post op with how to eat and she was very against me having this surgery to the point she was insulting. I haven't spoke to her since BUT I still go to her website and there is soooooooooo much great information on there including recipes. I think she may have a hemp cheese sauce recipe b/c she is always talking about things she makes on FB with cheesy sauce out of hemp. Her website is TatianaAmico.com. Let me know what you thing. I also LOVE her 'my favorite things' tab. I want a food dehydrator to make kale chips, sweet potato chips, and dried fruit chews (later on of course too soon for that). There is another woman named Robbie Raugh (pronounced 'RAW') She is a fitness instructor and health guru. She is always on "Good Morning America" here in the a.m. (T.V show). She is in her 50s and you wouldn't believe this woman's body. Both of these women went to the same college of nutrition (I forget name...Its in California). I have learned a lot from the both of them. Definitely check them out.
