    VERY FRUSTRATED

just look at it like you are getting a total overhaul and tune up. You will be all good in no time no worries!!! Minor set back but its good to fix this cardiac problem now before something happens.

    Not bragging but.....

I am four days post op... I think any block would have worn off by now. No?

Help me please! I'm losing my hair

Hi There! Can you tell me where you purchase the biotin that dissolves under your tongue? The ones I currently have are horse pills. Thanks in advance.
  6. Ok so I understand sugar free = less calories but that stuff (aspartame, splenda...whatever) is not good for you. If VSG does not produce 'dumping syndrome' the way Bypass does, is it really imperative to follow a sugar free diet? It is not like we are taking in a ton of calories at this point. I do not have a sweet tooth so these items I am consuming during this post op phase (pudding/popsicles etc.) that are a major staple of our diet will be short lived for me once I graduate to pureed and solid foods. Please advise. As always.. thank you for your feedback.

    Sugar Free Junk

Good to know. Thanks. I am starting to think the stomach spasms are hunger pangs.... don't like them at all.

I am trying to sip as slow as they recommend in the literature but the shakes go down way too easy I hope I am not damaging my sleeve.
  9. you're welcome! I thought the information in this link was much more easy to follow than the handouts I received at my pre op nutrition class.

    Sugar Free Junk

I rarely add sugar to anything... I was mainly referring to the Jello and puddings which have been sitting in the fridge since before surgery. I been getting in my Protein shakes, greek yogurt and some cream Soups. All going down very well minus the gurgling and sensation that I need to belch.

    Not bragging but.....

I got gasX and I been taking it religiously every 6 hours but I haven't had any lower gas just the upper gurgling which is like a trapped belch that won't come out. It is not painful mostly just annoying.

    Not bragging but.....

I know.. I almost felt bad posting this but I am almost worried I was doing so well. I did not feel any restriction with drinking fluids at all and the more I am reading up about it the most I understand that the restriction comes more with solid food. My best friend who had bypass nearly four years ago came over last night and was floored at how great I was doing....she said she it took her a week to feel that well. I really am so grateful because I do not have a ton of help other than my sons dad who hasn't left our side since the night before surgery. I do not like being dependent on anyone so being incapacitated too long was a great concern for me.

    Not bragging but.....

I had the procedure laproscopically. Not sore at all. First two nights it felt uncomfortable to lay on my left side... now I have no problem with positioning.

    Not bragging but.....

I have a 3 yr old son. I am not sore at all. No pain what-so-ever. I honestly do not feel l just had major abdominal surgery. It is so freaky. I have to keep reminding myself and I am not hungry at all.

Help me please! I'm losing my hair

Ok ladies and Gents... Walmart Natrol brand Extra Strength Biotin 10,000 mcg 100 pills for 7.97! BAM! That is a 90 day supply.

Help me please! I'm losing my hair

Ok... Dollar General has a better deal. Its half the price of GNC. Ten dollars for 120 tabs of 3000mcg (that is two bottles). The thing that sucks is you have to take 3 tabs and they are pretty big. I am going to research to see if there are smaller tabs with higher strength. I will provide feedback if I find something better.

do you know what dosage the GNC brand is? I paid 5.00 for 3,000 mcg tabs 60 in a bottle. I think GNC's deal may be better. Let me know. Thanks

    Help -4 days post op

the pressure you are experiencing I am having the same issue as well. I too am post op day three. I think that pressure is what it now feels like for our stomach to be full. I had some cream Soup today and after a few tablespoons I felt it.

they actually sell that same brand 'hair skin nails' at Dollar General. 5 bucks a bottle.

FYI: You must take at least 10,000 mcg of Biotin for it to even be effective. BTW: My MD said it is a problem first year post op... It will grow back.
  21. I have pudding, cream Soups... what else? Not that hungry but maybe if something seemed appealing enough I may have the urge to eat. Right now I am just sipping on my Protein shakes. Thanks. I suppose the next phase is pureed? Not sure about that either.
