    dessert options?

I plopped about 1/2 tablespoon of cream cheese in the microwave to get soft, then mixed it with about 1/2 of a SF chocolate pudding cup - it tasted like chocolate cheesecake and was just enough
  2. If I don't get my portion distortion under control soon, my dog is going to weigh more than I do.

LOL I fed my dog the rest of my chicken today I was thinking the same thing, but at least it's protein animals eat low carb too.

I'm 3 months out & still have trouble with the amount I initially put on my plate. My eyes are still bigger than my stomach. Never finish it.

Exactly! I always put the right amount there, and think, "there's no way that's enough!" As for my furball, I justify it by telling myself at least I'm not bringing her cheeseburgers every day anymore, lol.

Lying about what type of surgery..

Whatever you choose to do, I WOULDN'T go with the gall bladder excuse - not if you still have yours, anyway. If you wind up needing it out later, you'll have to come up with another story. I'd stick with an "I'm having a procedure" and, if pressed, that it's really something you're not comfortable talking about.

    Post-op breakfast ideas

@@BLERDgirl, how soon did you start eating grits? I love grits with tuna.

Favorite gift you got and gave

Best thing I got this year was a handmade clay dish from my niece's kindergarten class - it was so cute! Most fun thing I gave was a microscope to my nephew, he was super excited about it. That was fun to watch . The best gift I think I might get myself now that Christmas is over is a fitbit flex...just trying to justify spending the money on it.
  6. First day on real (but soft) food yesterday, and my stall broke - dropped 2 pounds. WOOO!

    :::TMI::: Ladies chime in

1 month post op yesterday, and entirely skipped my period this month. Absolutely the opposite of what I was expecting!

3 week stall turning to 4 week stall

Thank you so much for all the support! I'm betting I gained some today just from salt, even though my eating wasn't awful I did have ham today. Not going to stress over it, just drink more Water tomorrow to flush it out! Hope everyone had a great day!
  9. Love my sleeve! Feeling great physically, but stressing about getting my final Economics paper in tonight. Just forgot and stuffed something in my face out of habit (that I REALLY shouldn't have eaten). She kicked it right back out. Reminder: issued.

  10. Finally got around to checking out My Fitness Pal - I've been tracking manually up until now. My intake today is pretty representative of what I normally eat. I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow, and I was wondering if this looks normal for this point? Too much, too little? Calories: 578 (actually 623 once I add in the Calcium chews) Carbs: 51 Fat: 13 Protein: 63 Sodium: 1806 Sugar: 23 And I need to get another 8 oz of Fluid yet to make 64 today, but I've got a cup of tea in the microwave now. I think I can make it . I couldn't get my first follow up appointment with the nutritionist until 1/20, so I'm just trying to follow the papers we got until I can get in there.

    Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?

I'm just walking for now, but getting anxious to get back into the gym. Still not sure when I'll be allowed to do that, though!

    Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?

I had applesauce this afternoon - I just started adding fruit back in, so that might account for the carbs. I didn't feel so great afterwards even though it was sugar free, so that might be something I don't do again for a while.

    Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?

Thanks! I'm still trying to break the "spoonful of sugar" habit in my morning tea, so I'm waiting for that to bite me. I can drink it all day long without any, but the first one just won't go down any other way. I love that MFP message, by the way. Not something I ever expected to see in life.
  14. Christmas day is my last day on purees, of course - if I'd just been a day earlier! . But I've never been one to go overboard and gain a lot on the holiday (I went overboard all year long, lol). I'll probably stick to my new normal Breakfast and lunch, then have a little of the traditional stuff for dinner (puree some turkey, have a spoonful of mashed potatoes, maybe a deviled egg and call it a day). Then Friday, back to my regularly scheduled programming!

    My collarbone is beautiful...

Does everyone have those?! That's so cool. I remember reading something someone wrote, and I don't remember who or where, but they felt a bone for the first time and thought it was a tumor. It's a whole road of new experiences, right? Congrats!

    Post Op Update

Gosh, it sounds like you're a lot more with it than I was at 4 days! Welcome to the other side, I'm so glad you're home and doing better
  17. I wonder if it's too late to sign up for this...
  18. roundisashape

    I want to...

I want to be able to quit fretting about weight limits on everything. Kind of tired of going to people's houses and doing the discreet furniture wiggle to see if there's a chance I'm going to get dumped on my behind!
  19. It probably depends on the doctor, but I didn't get either - they didn't even make us do a "clean out" prior to surgery! (editing to add that, after a few days on Dilaudid, I wish they had...)

    Hand Pedaling for Sedentary Folks

I think that's great! Any activity you can do helps. I just ordered one for my brother for Christmas as he's recovering from a heart attack and it's too cold for him to get out to do much exercise right now, they're fantastic. Congrats on your success

    Cream of Wheat nightmare! Help!

Ugh - glad it's starting to pass down. Feel better soon!
  22. nsv? Can't stuff my phone in my bra anymore, it gets lost in there

Hilarious. I had to go buy new one's last weekend. The last thing I wanted to do was go to the mall. But I am actually glad they are smaller. I've always been big chested. I am so over it.

Yeah, I'm almost there! I just wish my belly would go down so I wouldn't look like a circle, lol.

  23. I hope my neighbor accidentally drops her stereo out of the upstairs window. She's vibrating my whole house and I'm trying to finish a final exam for a class I already can't stand.

  24. I'd stick with an "it's not something I'm comfortable talking about" rather than making something up - then if the thing you made up really needs to happen in the future, you don't have to make up a third thing. It gets hard to keep track . Best of luck to you!

    3 Week Stall

There are some people on here who have explained it really eloquently - I can't do that, lol. Basically a good majority of people experience a stall sometime around the 3rd week and how long it might last varies widely. Mine started a couple of days prior to week 3 and I'll be 4 weeks on Tuesday, still sitting at the same weight. Some people even gain a couple of pounds. If it hits you, just keep following the plan - once your body catches up with itself, it'll start coming off again!
