Handling the Holidays with a Baby Sleeve

I thought exactly the same thing. Why wait? No time is perfect! I'm really sorry to hear that your family isn't supportive. I need to not get sick, too; DH's mom had RNY many years ago, then just ate crap all the time, so he remembers her throwing up constantly. He's extremely supportive of me getting the sleeve, but still trying to come to terms with that history/baggage. She passed away about 10 years ago. I would love to have asked her about her experience.

Handling the Holidays with a Baby Sleeve

I'm not celiac but definitely gluten sensitive, and even that's not worth it. Good strategy! Movies are definitely open on Christmas night. I've gone a couple times. Fun! Though it triggers popcorn lust for me, so we'll have to wait and see...

I love the idea of turkey broth with a little sage! It's festive and gives me something to look forward to! And focusing on the entertainment...perfect! Thank you!

Handling the Holidays with a Baby Sleeve

Enjoying my family so resonates with me. I'm sure I'll deal with some head stuff, but when I think about Christmas day, I think about sitting around the dining room table with gorgeous blue skies and a breeze (we live in Florida), and laughing with and loving my family! Thanks so much for saying that! I'll admit it--the volunteer aspect is not one that I had thought of. We used to live in Memphis, and I really enjoyed working with the homeless; this seems like a lovely opportunity to give and serve food to someone who needs it way worse than I do! That seems somehow very balanced.

    November buddies where are you?

I'm November 21. I live in Florida, but I'll be traveling to Mexico. ¡Olé!
  6. Thanks so much for sharing this, Suzanne! I have also chosen Dr. Aceves, and I'm a self-pay. I've been investigating weight loss surgery for almost 20 years, so I knew when I found Dr. Aceves, I felt good about his practice and outcomes. But today, I started to have my doubts. Am I crazy for going to Mexico? No, I'm not, it's an informed decision in which I feel extremely confident. But those doubts can creep in! My surgery date is November 21, and I can't wait!
