  1. Thank you all for the great advice. I really appreciate it.
  2. Don't beat yourself about it. Its only natural that you ate what you love. Just try to get into the habit of thinking before you eat. I know its easier said than done, but you can. When you see something which you like and want to eat just think for a moment , usually the moment will pass off and you wont think about it. I just say "does my body needs this" and my brain says no. And yes when the tongue buds win, just get back on track. And when eat junk it makes us miserable anyway, so that might act as another repellant to over eat. Hope this helps.
  3. My intention was not to spread mis information. When operating on the stomach its important that none of the abdominal structures get disturbed and hence separators are used, but as I said its not something specific for this surgery, it is for all abdominal procedures. I don't understand why you felt that I wrote it as if you don't know the name hence it doesn't exist, neither have I cast any doubts about your pre op protocol. Also you don't know me so don't assume what I know and what I don't.
  4. Thank you all for your replies.
  5. Cough as much as you like, nothing will come out
  6. Thank God for Linda McCartney and her vegetarian sausages, they have 23 gms of Protein, They are co-starred with spinach paneer.
  7. Thank you, I am recently sleeved and that makes me anxious about slipping. What you have said does make sense. Cheers!
  8. Dear sleevers, I thought of starting this new thread and please let me know if its already somewhere here on the forum. I got sleeved in Sept this year and though things have been fantastic the festival season is bringing its own challenges. Workplace is now filled with chocolates, cookies and mince pies. There are are at least 3-4 parties each of us has to attend till the 25 th and that adds more pressure. As most of us have struggled with saying no to food all our life i wondered if we could make this thread as a bank of information with techniques we can use to distract ourselves from food, deal with the stress, and keep on top of our sleeve. I would really appreciate any positive suggestions to be on the right track , especially from the veterans. Thanks.
  9. Hi, Sometimes after the surgery talking can cause one feeling out of breath. That does improve when you start protein shakes. But if it persists speak to your doctor about it.
  10. I don't think there is a tool or any such thing. Pre-op diets are to shrink the liver if enlarged which is easy to find with liver function tests. If they are normal you don't need a pre op diet.
  11. Hi, I was not put on a pre-sleeve diet , had no issues post op.
  12. Oh thats great, I have not seen many people from the UK. I am in Derbyshire, got sleeved in Sept, this year.

  14. Hi, its similar to tofu, but I am sure you can easily get it any supermarket. We get it here in the UK in the cheese section.
  15. yes, you are right, just used oil spray and came out well. Tomorrow will post soya curry with brown rice. I now know how to take a pic and post so mighty excited.
  16. Vegetarians main Protein source, Paneer or cottage cheese with sautéed bell peppers.
  17. You look amazing. I hope I achieve what you have in one years time. Congratulations again.
  18. Its a very good question. I just feel full very suddenly in spite of my slow speed. As long as you are ok to consume fluids after half an hour to an hour initially, there is nothing to worry about.
  19. Hi Mike, I had my sleeve done in mid sept this year. I am a doctor and work as a consultant and that is really stressful and high pressured job. Initially I noticed loss of stamina in first few weeks post surgery, but now I have so much of energy plus I have taken more roles because i don't feel lethargic.I would recommend this procedure because apart from health benefits it will help you to move ahead in your professional life. Hope this helps.
  20. hi hot sleeved on the 15/9, was 87.5 now 74.3 in kgs.
  21. Thank you for your kind advice.
