    I'm Having A Minor Melt-Down

I must have worn my clothes really tight - nothing is too big yet (well maybe one pair of trousers...)

My Christmas shopping is done! All done on-line. Brilliant!
  5. Well, I am going to deep fry a turkey at Christmas at my sons request - he lived in California for severl months, which included Thanksgiving. He was promised deep fried turkey, but it didn't happen in the end. As a mother, I can't bear it even if my 33 year old sons are disappointed, so I am going to remedy that by frying a turkey in our back yard. Over here, turkeys are pretty small - should be able to without disaster!

OK Alex, being specific:<br />The app takes me to a list of forums (fora?). Gastric Sleeve Surgery, Lap-Band Surgery etc. No idea which one to click to find the action, but whichever I click, I get yet another list of topics. Now, I know to click "General Gastric Sleeve Surgery", and there are my conversations, but a newbie would have no clue.<br />Can't see "my" threads<br />"Last visit" takes me to random threads in which I have not participated and am not necessarily interested.<br />"Participated" says "no results found".<br />

Well, I hardly go to Facebook any more. Too many changes for my old brain to cope with. And I used an app on my phone called Shape Up Club, and they recently "upgraded" too. The app is unusable and they have lost all of my carefully recorded daily weight status since surgery. Gutted.

GOT - the best series I have ever read. Loved Wheel of Time, but the ending was just Bleh.

I've read about 14 David Baldacci in a row, but I think I've had enough now. I love my Kindle - can download books any time! I've bought one for my DIL for Christmas too. Keep the recommendations coming! Don't know if I'll want to read "young adult" fiction though.

    Encouragement!

Yep - my kids (grown ups) and those of my friends that know. I have only lost 10% of my excess weight, but they all reckon they can see it.

At risk of sounding enabling, don't beat yourself up Laura. That was then, this is now. One piece of bread with peanut butter is not material in the scheme of things. Just don't have another one!

I didn't think microscopic staples weigh that much, but you could be right. Maybe they are holding water? If my surgeon was really that advanced, he would have stapled my mouth shut.

I haven't lost weight for a week guys. I think it's because of all this food you keep sending me over the interweb...

haha! I was in Hawaii in July. I was served sweet potato that was too sweet to eat! I'm sure everything served had sugar in it. We had one (very expensive) dinner that was so sweet it was inedible. Yes, we roast pumpkin here and eat it with salt and pepper. I have made pumpkin pie (30 years ago, in England) and it was OK. Not special - just OK. I far prefer roast pumpkin and roast sweet potatoes with lots of gravy! But yes, the bacon and ham in the Southern Hemisphere is crapED. And sausages. No idea how they get it so wrong! On another tack, I was at a Rotary Club quiz night tonight. We agreed we should have a Thanksgiving day dinner NEXT year. Too short notice for this year. Think we will roast the turkey though, not fry it. scared of burning the house down!
  24. I wish we had Thanksgiving here! I feel like I am missing out! Maybe I'll invite friends for a Thanksgiving dinner... Is it too late to thaw a turkey?
