Once I started to feel better, it was miraculous! Got better and better hour by hour and haven't looked back since! Good luck to you both. :-) -

My adult kids were also disapproving when I first mentioned it. So I never mentioned it again (for a year!) until a couple of days before surgery! Fait acompli! They are very supportive now. I think what I read as their disapproval was actually their fear - they didn't like to think of their mother being chopped up. -

I'm sorry, I'm too new to have advice. But I do thank you for the alert about popcorn! Don't beat yourself up though. One cup of popcorn isn't going to do long term damage. BTW I am 10 days post op and still on fluids. -

First couple of days I was a bit ill. After that, I have felt fantastic. It is waaay easier than I thought it would be. You will be fine and soon you will be on the losers bench! :-) -

I couldn't swallow a thing for a good 36 hours. Everything I swallowed came back up! 1 day later, I was as good as gold. Still have to remember not to gulp though. Sip, sip, sip! -

Everyone has some last minute worries. But honestly, it's really easy. I am so glad I made the decision to go ahead. I've lost heaps of weight already! -

Starving on my pre-op diet! Does it get easier?

I starved too, and I cheated! Only lost 3 kg, but no one seemed to care! Got sleeved on 15th October. I did feel hungry first few days, but it gets better every day. Woke up this morning with no appetite at all. Yesterday, I barely got in 200 calories, so I'm having a Protein shake (with benefibre) for Breakfast today, and will try to remember to make another protein shake later on. Good luck! -

Yep, that hour by hour improvement is exactly what I experienced. Couldn't believe how quickly I felt better. First night was painful, first day I felt terrible. Told visitors not to come just to watch me vomit! I thought something had gone terribly wrong, but my surgeon wasn't worried - told me it would pass, and lo, it did. Went home the next day fit as a flea! -
