  1. I too second guess my decision to get the revision. My GERD is gone however I have such a hard time eating. My pouch is super small and everything I eat upsets it. I was finally at a place with my sleeve where I could comfortably eat and now I'm back to the beginning only this time I can't keep anything down. I feel like I'm slowly starving because my nutrition is so bad right now. My energy levels have crashed. I go in next week for my blood work and then see the doctor. On the brighter side I'm almost at goal which is very good. Now if I can only get everything else to line up.

  2. So today I tried to eat very mushy tuna. Apparently I ate to fast or to much and had it get stuck. OMG it was so painful! I was bent over trying to walk it off it took for ever. Had what I think is called the foamies. Yuk! Lessened learned.

  3. I had my sleeve in October 2013 at the time I hade GERD but it really was not discussed as a negative to having the sleeve. My EGD showed a hernia that my surgeon said would be fixed at time of surgery. However during the surgery he could not find it. At first everything was fine but after a few months the reflux was unbelievable I was taking 40 mg in the morning and at night of Omeprazole, tums off and on all day at this point I was having a hard time sleeping because of the pain. Another EDG showed the hernia was bigger and the acid was effecting my throat it was getting harder and harder to eat. Three weeks ago I had a RNY with a hernia repair. I liked the idea

Of the sleeve because you didn't have to be rearranged however If I had been more informed about the sleeve and the fact that it can make it worse I would have reconsidered the RNY in the first place. It would have saved me a lot is hassle and not to mention money. Please keep it in mind and talk it over with you surgeon. Some people have no problems others do.

  4. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I was on 80 mg of Omeprazole a day and tums several times a day. I had to be very careful when I ate, nothing spicy not even a little spice. I started having issues a few months after my sleeve as soon as the doctor tried to get me off Omeprazole after about 6 months he doubled the dose at 14 months I had the revision. So far I have had no reflux.

  5. Being dizzy could be dehydration so make sure you get plenty of Fluid. My doctor said getting fluid should be the only thing to worry about the first week he said not to really worry about the Protein. I second the Premier Protein from costco premixed. I also use ungury chicken broth in place of Water in my Soups, really saved me when I can't tolerate the sweet protein. If you do use ungury make sure you blend it exactly like the package says then heat it up its the only way it works. You can always just sip on the broth as well.

  6. Well I have both the sleeve and now one week out from bypass. My experience with the sleeve was fine in every way except for the reflux was unbearable which is why I revised to the RNY. If you don't have reflux then the sleeve has lots of benefits, however if you do have reflux I would recommend the RNY hands down.
