Hungry! (Pre-Op Diet)
SoPeachy28 replied to Stacy_wls's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm having a hard time on my pre op diet as well. Im on an ALL LIQUID DIET!!!!!! I had 3 chicken nuggets on the first day and 2-3 pineapple chunks on day two. Today's day three and I had a spoon full of collard greens. But I vowed that days 4 to 14 where going to be straight liquids. This is to prep me and my body for after surgery. I have to stick to it!!!!! -

Hi Cabstewart, I'm also a 12/16 sleever! This is is the third day of my Preop and I had a hard time the first day. I felt a little dizzy and I did have something besides liquid. I too am very nervous. I was reading a post about two sisters that had surgery and one sister didn't make it a year, that is what I am truly afraid of. I've never been "under the knife" so my nerves are going haywire! I'm not having surgery to look good, I'm having it because of my co- morbidities and trying to have a better more energy filled life with my two young children. Every time we play I'm tired easily and out of breath and I feel like I'm cheating them of these moments with me because I'm overweight. I don't want to be that mom to them, and I Amos ready to live a healthier lifestyle. Looking good is just the plus of the surgery. But trust me I'm nervous, very nervous. I may need a Xanax before surgery, lol! -
I Lived Through This Surgery, My Sister Didn't.
SoPeachy28 replied to LyndseyD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My prayers and condolences got out to you and your family and her husband and her three kids! This surgery does have risks! That's one of my biggest worries with the surgery. I have two kids of my own and I need and want to be there for everything with them. I can't imagine her children's heartache along with her husband and family. She was beautiful and always will be. Keep her story traveling to send the msg that people have to do their research with surgeons, hospitals, the procedure and everything else! I'm truly sorry for your loss! -
Lol, I didn't dwell on it too long! But my day 2 & 3 were much better! That is the whole reason for the Preop diet to shrink the liver. So when they go in for surgery the liver is flexible and has lesser chance of getting damaged during surgery.

I'm sure in due time as things get better you will get over those feelings! You'll look back and laugh like "OMG!!! Are you serious??" Don't push your intentions to the side for Plastic surgery, just think how much cuter you'll be when they remove the excess skin! Ooowwww, LOL! -

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Ok how was the class? I have some of the chocolate Unjury at home. I'm going to use that instead. I'm super excited and nervous too! How is your pre op diet going?? The class was good. Basically two parts, the nutritionist and then the office manager. They both touched on the same things. We had 4 in our group and there were 2 sleevers, 1 bypasser and 1 bander so they had to cover info for all 3 surgeries. We got handouts. I didn't purchase the "kit" with the Protein stuff and Vitamins and shaker bottle. They went over the stages, vitamins, exercise. Then when that was done, one at a time we went to speak with Dr. Johnson one more time before surgery! My preop is going pretty well. My days 1-4 were very easy. Today I had more of an issue (however, any second now it will be that time of the month so I think that is playing a role) but I have not cheated at all. My diet consists of 3 shakes, 2 unsweetened applesauces and a cup of chicken broth. Along with Water. Looking forward to going through this with you! I'm looking forward to receiving all this information. Especially sitting down and talking with Dr. Johnson again. Now this Preop diet is a different story!!! I do great at work, but by the time I leave I'm super hungry and I feel a bit like my blood sugar is low(I'm also Pre-diabetic). So I have cheated my first 2 days nothing big or heavy though. The first day I had a slice of grilled chicken breast and the second day I had a few pieces if pineapple when I was making my shake(even though I'm not too sure that eating pineapple that's going in my Protein shake is exactly cheating). Today is day 3 and I've already had my light yogurt. My diet consist of a shake for lunch and one for dinner, SF chocolate pudding for my first snack, a light yogurt for Breakfast, SF applesauce for my second snack. I switch my Snacks and do a SF Popsicle or Jello. Throughout the day I drink water and 1 small Gatorade. I'm praying that that today is better I'm going to add a cup of chicken broth. You seem very content on your Preop diet! -

It's good to see all of what you guys went over. Especially since we use the same office, so I'll be ready when I go in next Wednesday. I'm also nervous about pain as well and nausea as well! I hate being nauseous, I'll definitely be getting the anti-nausea medication. I also don't have a high tolerance for pain so I will need something to keep the pain to a minimum. I'll need to make sure that I mention that to him as well. Thanks for sharing this info with us. I love this forum! It's so informative and helpful. I love hearing about everyone's different experiences. It really helps a lot. -

Congrats in being newly sleeved!!!!!! You are on your way! I'm happy that everything went well and your doing good! I'm scheduled for 12/16 and I'm crazy nervous!!!!! -
Well that was better than my 3 Chick-Fil-A nuggets, lol!
-
Man you ain't never lied, lol!!!!! I like the Unjury protein powders they actually taste good!
-
You did better than I did!!!! Today was my first day and I'm scheduled for 12/16. I did great while at work before lunch, but after lunch I didn't get to get anything in every 2 hrs bcuz we were so busy. So when I got home I was starving. I made a Bariatric Advantage shake but that was sooooo nasty. I ended up eating 3 chicken nuggets. Now I feel like I'm going to be punished for it. But tomorrow is a new day and I will be sticking to my liquid diet.
-
Hey I'm scheduled for 12/16 too! :-)

That's awesome! I'm just nervous about being put to sleep. This will be my first time having any major surgery. Honestly I can't wait! I've heard about the crazy trapped gas stories too! I'm praying for nothing but success! I'm glad you are coming along greatly! I'm starting my 2 week diet today and I heard that's just loads of fun!! Lol
