  1. I am also 5'7" ish and 148 right now. I always set incremental goals--under 200, smaller than my husband, etc. I had a goal of a 12 with a dream of single digits. Vanity sizing or whatever it is, I am now shrinking out of my 6's!!!! Color me shocked! Tried on four pairs of size 6 black pants the other day (3 jeans and a pair of palazzo pants) and they were all too big. Didn't have time to go grab the 4's but the next day I grabbed my skinny Minnie 16 yr old's size 5 jr skinny jeans (yeah they ARE the ones that are too big for her and she doesn't wear much) and they FIT! What the heck?
  2. Thank you! Mostly a runner (Ragnar relay this past weekend yay!) but loved the tri and planning another one! Gonna do International distance next
  3. Out of town this weekend (running in a Ragnar relay!) so I will weigh on Monday. I usually gain a pound or two on running weekends, ugh, so we shall see!
  4. I've been playing around since my earlier post...did my triathalon, moved up to 10k's and running Ragnar Relay this weekend. I definitely need the carbs during my long run days. I don't carb load the night before, but I do fuel with good carbs the day of (bananas, oats, flax, etc) and I use the occasional gu or gel or wafer. Heck even pretzels and such fix their way into my running diet. All in moderation and to fuel. Hasn't opened any doors to more carbs for me or anything on the regular days.
  5. Throwing in my two cents, I don't know that giving up and reevaluating goals are the same thing. Health is the priority not a number on the scale. If you are healthy, think about reevaluating!
  6. SW 150 TODAY 148 GOAL 145
  7. Wait...your hospital has valet parking? #jealous! Congrats =)
  8. A lot less than I did! Chapstick and my own pillow. My hospital wouldn't let me use any over the counter stuff, they provided it all---throat drops, stuff to lubricate my mouth, gas treatment. I didn't even use my iPad much and I am an addict. My phone and charger was sufficient. Wore their clothes and slipper/sock thingies. Brought all kinda of stuff--PJs slippers robe yoga clothes toiletries hand sanitizer lotion earplugs eye mask--that I never ever used or they provided!
  9. I was having the same issues when I was "halfway there" like you! My teen daughter did a wake up call and told me I was choosing fat girl clothes in smaller sizes! She took me shopping and had me try on clothes I never would have dreamed of wearing. Totally loved about half of them! Now I make it a point to try on at least one "I never" item each time I shop. Just for grins. Been shopping at places like Ross and Marshall's and TJ Maxx to save on stuff I will shrink out of. Just starting to invest in a few more permanent pieces. Course I shrank out of what I thought would be permanent jeans! Dresses and shirts I keep wearing by using a dress clip in back!
  10. Roasted vegetables, beets, peanut butter, ham, shrimp...didn't detest them before but wouldn't seek them out.
  11. Start 271 These pix are about two months old and about 165 Now 150
  12. Took me about 4 months before they stopped giving me stomach pain, keep trying every couple of weeks! I eat them once or twice a week now.
  13. Early out I used 1% milk because of the extra Protein, I even found Lucerne Protein Plus milk which adds even more. Some people develop a lactose intolerance and can't do that, though. Lactose free milk or lactaid is an option. These days I use Water or coconut water or even almond milk, but none of those come close to the protein in regular or lactose free milk and I totally needed the extra protein early out....soooooo hard to get much in.
  14. Thanks Cowgirl, I think you are most likely right! Just feels kinda anti climactic LOL! But I guess I need to get out of the "finish line" mentality and into the this is just life frame of mind! Maybe set some other goals =)
  15. I was hoping my surgeon would discuss a goal with me at my 9 month follow up this week, but nope. Basically said my body would stop when it was ready and that my weight was in the normal range but not to worry cause I could still drop and still be normal (I am 5'7" and 150). He didn't want to give me any more guidance than that sigh! Guess I'd just like to know when I'm done LOL!
  16. Personally I can't stand the premier Protein, though I know many love it. Too thick and tastes like plastic to me. Just goes to show how personal taste is.
  17. I like the Atkins ones too and at 9 mos out I don't worry about the fat. The syntrax matrix (which is my go to) tastes very similar. Love the vanilla, Choc, mint cookie and peanut butter cookie flavors. Got strawberry once on sale and it was okay too but kinda sweet so I mixed it with Choc and liked that.
  18. Couple dr's in our area do it that way, good friend had hers as outpatient, three hours in recovery then home. Heck, I found the hosp bed so uncomfortable and the interruptions so annoying I wished I were home!
  19. Just finished disneyland 5k and 10k last weekend! Another 10k this weeknd, then Ragnar relay race the weekend of the 20th and then a half marathon in October!!!!! Maybe my second triathalon in November!
  20. Ended up at 150 after my wild weekend LOL, but still met my goal, hooray!
  21. Please add me in! Still working on losing the 2lbs I gained last weekend UGH though even up those lbs I hit my last goal. So.... SW 150 GW 145 (which I think may be my final end goal!!!)
  22. Tall (or grande) nonfat cappucino (decaf or regular). Tall has 60 cal and Protein from the milk. You can add fake sugar if you like.
  23. I'm another one who just can't eat enough to get the protein in without a shake most days and I am 9 months out. I have one a day most days.
