I would normally agree with that but that isn't an everyday thing. For example today I feel like I am slowly able to eat more food again...I also feel like my stress level has decreased tremendously and so far today I have had... Protein shot Water w/crystal light Hot Tea Chicken broth w/3 wheat thins 2 Miniature chocolates Chicken Broth w/ 8 Wheat Thins and 1/4 c. rice pudding Water and I am still not done. I think my band was swollen from throwing up and it is slowly feeling better. I go to SSF on Oct. 7th (I think that's the day) for another appointment so I plan on scheduling to see my surgeon or Phys. Asst. (who normally does my fills) that day if i am still this restricted. But I feel like I am hydrating better finally and I would like to stick it out as long as possible. I am so so very close to hitting the 200's only 8 more lbs as of yesterday left to go!!! But I know, I know, my health is more important and if it gets worse i will go in sooner...it is just sooo hard to get time off at work especially since we are short staffed and I am working 6 day work weeks when I am only supposed to be working 4 days due to furloughs!!!!

Hello everyone...I haven't been on this thread in a while been hanging out on another thread with some of my local bandster buddies....but I have a question tha tI am hoping someoen here can help me with.....especially someone who has been banded a while... I got a fill about 2 weeks ago. I feel like I have been doing well. I had a few episodes of food getting stuck and coming back up but not everytime. I was on my TOM just a few days after my fill and that made it a little tighter and harder to eat anything but my protein shots and water or decaf tea throughout the day; that is until about 9 at night when I could usually eat something real small. I have been feeling good lost 12lbs in 12 days! Buutttt...... I feel like out the blue (maybe stress) I got super tight yesterday. I can drink my hot tea or my chicken broth pretty much okay.....but cold fluids don't agree with me right now. Yesterday I had.... 1 protein shot 1 -16oz hot tea 10 oz Chicken broth Tried 2 small bites of ground beef at 11 pm last night and 30 minutes later it came back up.....then in the middle of the night while I was sleeping more came up in my mouth but I thought I was dreaming and I guess I tried to swallow it....yuck!!! Well it woke me up and I threw up more...it felt like it had been sitting in my pouch the whole 5 hours!!! I have NEVER had that happen to me before. Then this morning Even my hot tea was gurgling down soooo slooowwwly that it took me 2 hours to drink 8 oz. I finally got my protein shot down and at lunch time I had 10 oz of chicken broth again....that seemed to go down easier than the tea this morning. I guess what I am getting at is I would like some opinions....I am losing soooo well that I don't want to get an unfill again. I am wondering as I lose more weight over the next couple of weeks if it will lossen up some. I am just terrified of getting another unfill of some of the fluid!!!! I've had 3 of them over the last year. And that is why I have been on a plataeu for soooooo long. Sorry this is such a long message but I need advice.

This sucks!

Donna - Thanks....I would love to go on that walk too! do you have all the details? I'm thinking of bringing my daughter with also. BTW not sure if I can make it on Saturday or not....I will know more for sure later tomorrow. My -coworkers and I are covering all the "Furlough Friday's" and weekends. We just lost another staff member that used to work Sat - Wed.....so now no one on weekends at all!!! I am working 3 - 6 day work weeks in October alone. And this will go on until we get more people hired and trained...uurgghh! Hopefully we can get some good people soon! So long story short I am hoping to get off by at least 11 am instead of 3:30 on the 26th so I can come to the meeting and lunch. Hi everyone else....and welcome to all the newbies!!! Glad to see the group is expanding!

Candra - That's okay though....you are on your way down on the scale now! There's no turning back now. (Don't get me wrong it is still possible to gain a few pounds here and there but for the most part we are more in control of it than we were in the past!

Candra - Yes they can get wet but do not wipe them with a rag and do not use soap on them. You can wash around them and then just let the water run on it. Another pound down last night girls!!! I am now 11 lbs down in 11 days!!!! I am so excited I am sooo close to where I was when I gained that last bit of weight with all my band complications! I only have 3.5 more lbs to go to be at my absolute lowest weight since 1994!!!!:tt1: And only 11.4 pounds until I get down in the 200's!!!!! I can't wait!!!

Candra- That is the part that stayed the most sore for me for the longest period of time. I think mine bothered me when I got in and out of the driver's seat of the car until I was about 3 weeks out from surgery! I'm glad you are doing so well so fast! Just remember not to push yourself too much, your body is still trying to heal!

Candra....so glad to see that you made it on here for a few minutes today to say hi and give an update! You take care of yourself! Glad to hear that they took care of the hernia too! At least you won't have to deal with that later on. As far as being too tight....I feel I might be close to being too tight but I am managing to drink (very slowly) 2 - 2.5 bottles of Water a day plus 1-2 'Protein Shots' Then I can usually eat at least once a day something small...ie. today's lunch 1/2 c of Homemade Onion Soup; a little bit came back up when I tried to eat more than the 1/3 c. So for dinner I had some hot tea and then later had a Protein shot. Not hungry...I think it will loosen up a little when I am off of my "TOM" completely this week. Then I should be able to get my Greek yogurt down in the early afternoon and at least one more meal on top of that. I really don't want to take any Fluid out right now since I am finally losing weight again....Down approx 10 lbs in 10 days!!!! We'll see what happens over the next few days but my guess is that I will be just fine! Take care ladies!!!

So does Richmond release you the same day as surgery now? Or has that always been like that? When I had my surgery done in 2007 in South San Francisco I was there for 2 days. But I am glad I was....it forced me to move more and walk since a nurse came by to walk with me every 3 hours even through the night. I know if I went home right away (since I was home alone) I would have been more apt to stay in my lazyboy chair without walking as much.

So How many Ladies are doing the Run/Walk on 10/10/09 in Lincoln? What do we need to do in order to participate if we want to? I checked out the site but I am not familiar with the process since I have never done one before and I was thinking of dragging my daughter along to try it. By the way are most of the people going walking or running....cause I don't run?

Okay Ladies I'm back....boy you guys can write!!!! I have been trying to catch up on all this reading for 2 days and I still haven't read it all from the last 6 days!!!! Well here is an update on me.... I went to SSF on Friday last week and (the drive was okay, not too bad even with the Bay Bridge closure) The PA gave me a .3 cc fill which brought me to around 7 cc's. I felt okay that night just tighter. I had about 1/4 c mashed potatoes that night with about 1 oz of white fish. I also had about 1/4 of the broth only from my chicken noodle soup and I was actually full. I hadn't felt that way in a long time!! So the next day I was super tight! It took me 3 hours to sip down my 3 oz Protein shot. Then I had one more protein shot that night with 1 cup of water. I am noticing now that I am 5 days out that I still pretty much can't eat in the mornings but if I just baby sip on my water or liquids (protein shot, etc) all day; by late afternoon I can eat something small and the same for dinner. I am not for sure but according to my mom's scale I had already lost 8 lbs as of Monday night!!!! That made me feel sooooo good. Which means I have finally gone PAST my plateau!!!!! If any of you who know me know I have been at this plateau for almost 7 months!!! It feels so good to finally be losing again. I think I might have finally hit my "sweet spot"! Well I am off to get my daughter out of the pool I will be back in a little while.:blushing:

Great...thanks for the info! So I finally decided to break down and go back to see my PA in SSF to get a fill. In May they took out .5 cc for me since I wasn't really eating that great and kept PB'ing and stuff. Besides I was going on a cruise and kinda wanted to enjoy myself not feel sick all the time! Well they wanted to see me like 2 weeks after I got back from the cruise to readjust and I never went in because I had put on a few pounds and was so embarressed. Well when I went to see my PCP last week for my car accident injuries and they weighed me.....I was up 8 lbs from my .5 cc unfil in May :-( I decided that was it, I needed to go in and last night just confirmed it. I usually don't do well with bread but I noticed I was eating more lately without feeling full. So when I went to McDonalds last night and got home with my Quarter pounder I decided to try it with the bun just for kicks since I miss the taste of a "Hamburger" Well wouldn't you know...the WHOLE thing went down just fine...I only threw away a little piece of bun (very small) and I even had 1 chicken nugget of my daughters...ugh!!! My appointment is in SSF on Friday. I also asked to see the nutritionist as well sinc eI haven't seen her since before surgery!

Hi girls!!! Been a long weekend! Candra - I am still feeling very sore and my lower back is worse than it has been in weeks...all thanks to the idiot that made that quick right turn right across me. How are you doing? I too would love to go to sky high and just jump but to be honest not sure if my back would like it so much but I am always willing to try anything! Well I am off to sing with my church choir! We are doing a "Prayer for the Nations" tonight at a park in Rancho Cordova. There are a bunch of churches in the area that are getting together to sing, pray and do a salute to the armed forces. It should be beautiful! I will post more tomorrow when I get to work...don't wanna be late! Take care ladies!

Hi Ladies, just checking in! BTW - I got great news and bad news! Let see which one first???? I'll give you the bad news first.... Last night on my way to pick up my baby girl at church I got in a pretty bad accident. A guy in a big truck (in front of me) drifted into the 'suicide lane' and then drifted back with no blinkers...but all was still okay until... He drifted even farther this time just about all the way in the suice lane and then decided at the last second to make a right hand turn from there 'in front of me' into a drive way. Still had no blinkers on...so I ended up hitting his side rear passenger door and he drug against my car until his rear wheel well and my front driver side fender/frame pretty much locked up on each other. It appears from my opinion and everyone else I am speaking to that it is definitely not my fault (which is what I feel) but still waiting for the final decision from the insurance company...should know more this late afternoon. I wasn't hurt too bad so far but my neck is hurting pretty bad and so is my upper back and right shoulder. It also really agitated my 'already bad' lower back. Going to see my PCP at Ranco Cordova Kaiser in about an hour or so. On a lighter side.... I went in to speak to my boss and explain what had happen last night since I was going to be leaving early to see the doc and he mentioned to me that I my PROMOTION wen through and should be effective last week or sooner!!!!! Thank God; I feel so blessed through all of this that's going on right now! Oh yeah I almost forgot...CONGRATS Christine I am so happy for you. You just make sure to let us all know what it is like being pregnant with the band. I am curious if you have more "tight" days or what. Also Nicole congrats to you and the fam! It seems like a very nice place that you chose....if I could afford something like that I would've done that myself. At least you will know there is always something around to do and you will never feel 'trapped' at home there! Let us know when you guys get your move in date. Wish I was on that side of town so I could walk with you guys sometime

Hello ladies! Well it is another crazy day at work but I have been logged on here all day just reading between calls on how everyone's day is going. I am taking a little break for myself so I thought I would post something... Donna - Good afternoon to you...hope you are having a great day! It feels good to be able to keep intouch with everyone on here and feel the love even when I am busy runnin around like a chick with it's head cut off! BTW - Are you going next weekend to the walk ( I think they said Petaluma- but might be wrong)? Nicole - Good to hear that your breakfast seemed to go down okay. I hope the rest of your day is just as good. I seem to be doing ok with food myself. I haven't pb'd since friday!!! Yeah for me! But I did get something stuck (pretty painful) last night. It was back to the mindless eating for me again. I was cooking and tried picking before it was all complete. That was a mistake! Well anyways I will be praying for you and your family I want to see the best for you and little Audrey. It would be nice to have you clser here in Sac but no matter what you ultimately decide I know I can speak for everyone when I say we will all be here for you! Just hang in there! Candra - I'm not doing too bad about getting back on track. Today seems to be okay...had few things I shouldn't have already but not as bad as I have done before I started coming back to the support group meetings so that is definitely a good sign! Concentrating on more protein but still eating some carbs. Example... B - Protein Shot / 1 (pkg has 2, I only had 1 of them and saved the other) Fiber One Strawberry Pop Tart L - 1 cup salad greens w/ 1/4 c Feta Cheese and 1/4 c canned chicken and 1 oz BBQ Chicharrones (Pork Skins) S - 1 cup of Homemade snack mix (Mix of Cheese Its, Wheat Thins, Chex and mini pretzels BTW - I am trying the Onion Soup....It is in my crockpot as I sit here and type cooking so I can have it after Choir practice...I'm so excited to try it! Question....do you think it has to have the onion soup mix? I didn't have any....but I can run to the store and get some in a few and throw it in there before I go to choir practice if I have to.

Hey Everyone! It's me April from Saturday. It was great to meet everyone new (at least new to me) and see the regulars too! I had a blast reconnecting! Candra - Now I know why you reminded me alot of me...I'm a Taurus/ Gemini. I was born on the cusp of the 2 signs but I definitly lean towards the Taurus side alot. Thanks again for lunch and I really did have a great time with all of you. It was nice to have that support again after all this time. I am hoping to be on the weight loss train again soon!!! Nicole - did you and hubby decide on the place yet? Did they have a 2bd 1 ba for you soon or would you have to wait? Well getting off of work now; I just wanted to hop on and say a quick Hello since I still don't have a PC at home yet. Maybe I will have minute to catch up tomorrow, take care eveyone!

    Anyone From Sacramento?

Ok I scheduled an appointment with my surgeon's assistant on Friday this week. In the am, do you think I should do .5 cc or 1 cc unfill? I am actually looking forward to not having the throwing up I was dealing with the last 5 months. Starting tomorrow I am going to do liquids for 2 days. But at this stage I am going to eat yogurt too instead of just fluids. THis way I ensure I am getting a good amount of protein in and I will feel full longer than just having a shake. Thanks for your advice and I willl do it!

    A thread for Single Bandsters

I just need to know if this is normal for the average bandster who's been in this situation.... I just just got back from my UGI to see if there was an issue with the band (slipped, or something) since I had been having this pressure and slight pain everytime I ate. Not to mention the continuous throwing up (about 1 time a day if I average it out). The results look good, no issues with the band itself. the Dr.said if I continue to have issues to come in to get a slight unfill. Any thoughts? I have had this issue off and on for the last 5 months; very little weight loss (if any), throwing up at least one meal a day, cannot eat anything more than greek yogurt for breakfast (sometimes not even that), the easiest time of day to eat (literally) is after 8 pm. I am trying to be really honest with myself about this band but I am sooooo afraid of getting fluid out and being able to eat too much, but on the other hand I leave for a cruise in 1 week and I am afraid I will not enjoy myself because I might have to get up in the middle of our fancy dinner and make a run for the nearest restroom to throw up. Some people think I will be more relaxed there and should have a better opportunity to eat easier while on the cruise but I just don't know. Please ANY advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
