That's funny, my mom just asked me a few minutes ago if I've had any coffee (she spent the night and wants coffee this morning). I bought some decaf before my surgery and haven't had one drop. I could drink it, but I don't have a craving for it. I'll make some this morning and see if I still like it.

I used Dr. Boynton, he was great, but not sure of all of the insurance plans he takes.

Very light headed- is this normal?
SandeeD replied to cinthysline's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm experiencing this as well, until I realized yesterday that I have been taking my bp meds same as before. Called my pcp and he told me to stop all meds. I have an appointment on Thurs. He wants me to self monitor and document my bp readings. Right now it's still pretty low, causing lightheadedness, no energy, etc., but my doc. assured me that when it gets to a "normal" level, I'll feel better. In order for him to see where my bp really is, I need to be off the meds. and let them get out of my system. I feel like dooky on a stick, but I'm sure like everything else, it will get better. -
I'm two weeks out today and went shopping for a few hours and I feel like I could drop any minute now:( I'm so tired and so winded. I know if I don't push myself that I won't get stronger, but I also have to listen to my body, lesson learned. Some good news is that I noticed just some slight changes...(can we say NSVs:) I THINK my lower back doesn't hurt anymore, could this really be??? Also, my posture has shifted a bit, I think it's because of the belly fat loss so far. One more thing, I can now sleep on my side and I love it. These are itsy bitsy NSVs so I can't wait for the major ones.

Advise for those with no supportive help after surgery.

Good advice regarding on not stocking up too much. I hate the popsicles (they make me nauseous) and I'd be happy not to see anymore broth liquids for a good while, also makes me nauseous. -

how long did u stay put of work after being sleeved?
SandeeD replied to marmello's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have a desk job and work from home, so it's a bit more convenient. I took 2 weeks off and I'm glad I did. It took me a week before I could really focus on anything other than how uncomfortable I felt and my eating schedule. I go back to work on Monday, 3/10/14 and I'm confident that I'll be fine and it doesn't hurt that I can wear pajamas, sweats and a t-shirt:) -
Hey guys, I'm just checking in. I had surgery on Tuesday. I was supposed to go home today but I have low potassium so they're keeping me an extra day. I'm sore and so drugged up all I do is sleep. Never thought I wouldn't have the energy to talk. I just want to sleep. I feel so so, but I'm sure it'll get better. Sinus headache very annoying.

Sooooooo....I had my 1 week follow-up appointment and I lost 15 pounds total. I'm feeling better each day:)
-
Hey everyone! Today I feel almost like myself. I can even bend down and pick up things off the floor now! lol I have my 1 week follow-up doctor's visit tomorrow. I'm really not concerned with the scale. I'm sleeved and I know that the weight will come off if I do my part. I've developed the patience of Job:)

Unexpected NSV - I'll take it!
SandeeD replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I always enjoy reading your posts and this one made me smile a little wider (even though I'm 5 days post op:). You deserve every compliment pretty lady:) -
Hey guys, thanks for your kind words. Mom and sis are still here and will be leaving sometime today, so I will be on my own, but it's fine, I'll be ok. Each day gets better. I didn't realize hard it would be to get all of my fluids in, but I'm doing it. I almost had a bm this morning, but it wouldn't come out! lol I drank some Smooth Move tea, so hopefully I'll get some action later today:) I had some egg drop Soup yesterday, but I threw it up, so I may not be able to tolerate egg product right now. I seem to have a constant gnawing headache all the time, but I think it's the side effects of the oxycodone (also having crazy dreams!). That's it for now. I hope everyone is well.

One more thing...I feel like a turkey plumped up with salt water...could barely get my shoes on when leaving the hospital...I feel like the good year blimp.

Hi you guys. I just want say that the next time someone says this is the easy way out just slap them! lol Seriously though, doing this takes hard work and commitment. It's even more challenging when you have other physical conditions that limit your mobility (spinal nerve damage, weak legs and arms). Just talking and even texting is challenging because I don't have full focus back (too much focus on the PAIN! lol) With that said, when I was in the hospital I did my laps around the halls, it was challenging, but I did it. I blew out 5 veins (3 in one arm/hand and 2 in the other arm/hand). I had to stay the extra day to get my levels up, so I just got home last night. Getting in my house was quite a feat (lots of steps) and I thank GOD for my family, especially my dear sister. The love, care and support from family and close friends is so important through every phase of this process, especially right after surgery. No chair is comfortable, but I am able to sit, lay and sleep in my bed thank god. I walk laps through the house until I graduate to the treadmill. Lots of burping, spitting and coughing, so I guess that's good. Ok, I'm all typed out. Thanks for your concern and well wishes. I hope everyone else is progressing well.

Sweetcheeks, how ya doing honey?

My surgery is tomorrow. I know that people mean well and want to give you good vibes for surgery, but can't they choose something else to say other than, "good luck" or "I'm keeping my fingers crossed?" I'm nervous enough and those phrases sound so unsure, like "I hope nothing happens." Hey, maybe it's me, but it's so annoying. Just saying.
-
All is well. Was in quite a bit of pain in recovery, but now everything has settled, got pain meds. dispenser, feeling much better. Smooth sailing so far. Going to be walking the halls soon (before bedtime).

Hey Bpal family, I'm fine. Just sore and tired/sleepy.
