Hi. I am on Metformin for my PCOS and metabolic syndrome. I'd really like to get off that and my very low dose of Levothyroxine after surgery. I am a type 2 diabetic, I'm no longer on insulin or metformin, it happened the next day.

I am doing my pre-op diet. Problem is the Protein powders are making me nauseous. I have been experimenting with a couple different ones. They all seem so sweet and that is what is making me sick. Does anyone else have this issue? How did you manage it? Thanks!

The Premier Protein shakes, chocolate in particular taste pretty good, hey come in 2 sizes, 12oz. and 6 I think is the smaller, but both have 30g protein, just open and drink. Sams carries the small in a 12 pack for about $19

Thank you everyone for answering my question about food tasting bad. I really appreciate it. I'm just surprised that no one in my Dr's office knew the answer to this. Until you all, there was no mention of ketosis by anyone. I need to get some ketostix now and see where I am. Thanks again!

When if ever will food start to taste normal again? I'm nearing my 3rd week post op, and some days food tastes bad enough that I don't want to eat at all. HELP!
