  3. yaya you are doing great! You really have the exercise thing down. That's what I need to hear to motivate me! I could use some Breakfast ideas too. Just because it's breakfast, doesn't mean you have to eat breakfast foods! Switch it up and eat something you would eat for dinner. Maybe some turkey sausage crumbled into a scrambled egg? Maybe a quiche that you fix ahead of time and portion out to eat during the week? Cottage cheese with fruit? Turkey and cheese rollups is another thought. Thanks for checking in!

  4. Hi ladies!! I was banded 11/18 and so far I have lost 21lbs since pre-op. After surgery I did two weeks of full liquids, two weeks of mushy and now I'm eating solids. My incisions are doing well, except for one that it's taking longer to heal.

    So far so good, no throwing up or stock episodes. I did expirience mild chest pain( like esopahgus spasm) I called the Dr. and I was told that I was problably eating and drinking too fast. I practiced eating slow and the pain went away.

    From time to time I also feel pain in my left shoulder not sure if band related or just muscle pain.

    I have been trying to do at least do some cardio 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes and I have 4pounders weight and I try to do them at least twice a week. I haven't had any fills yet, I think my surgeon wants to see first if I really needed. So far I eat a cup worth of food every 5 hours 3x a day and I'm allowed a snack but I haven't had the need to go for it. My TOM is around the corner and I start feeling hungry a little sooner maybe 4 to 4 1/2 hours after my lst meal. So I don't think is that bad.

    My next follow up is on 1/14. Let see what they will do. To be honest I hope I can continue doing this without the fills but if I need it I'll be getting them.

    Ps. I do need Breakfast Ideas. I been having eggs & oatmeals. It's getting a little boring!

  5. Just had my first aftercare appointment and didn't need an adjustment, yet. She said that is normal with people who had a hiatal hernia repair. I'll probably need one by next month. Otherwise, I am down 21 pounds and doing well and can now transition to solid foods. Yay!

    Congratulations!!! 21 pounds in less then a month, that's awesome!


  6. I called my surgeon's office and I spoke with the PA. She pretty much stated that it could be that i'm eating or drinking too fast and maybe big gulps at the time and that can irritated the esophagus and caused spasms. She suggested that 15 minutes before I eat to drink something warm to smooth things and if the discomfort continues to call back to make an appointment.

    I know that I can work on slowing down when I drink . So I'm going to try her suggestions and I hope it works.


  7. I had my surgery on the 18th of last month and today I started feeling a tightness in my chest ( esophagus) is like I need to burp but it will not come out and when it does it hurts. I read that some people get esophagus spasms when they are too tight but in my case, my band is empty. I'm also calling the Dr. tomorrow to find out what is this pain all about.

  9. I was banded on the 21st and Im back to work today. Like you said still a little sore but I have a desk job too.

    The only thing Im having trouble with is that Im soooo sick of Soup and i am really not hungry. I am really trying to make myself eat but nothing tastes good.

    I find myself looking at the clock and calculating whether or not is time to eat again. As far as the food, I'm having 4 shakes and one soup. I actually look forward for my soup since it's the only savory dish that I'm allow to eat. The other day I had the low fat chicken noodle soup from Panera bread, I blended it and it was delish!!
