  1. I was banded 6-11-2014. So far i've lost 38 lbs. I haven't been seen or had a fill since August. I had to start paying out of pocket. I would of at least liked follow up appointments to see my progress and just make sure everything is good with the band. I fell off my exercise routine and i keep up with my diet here and there. Its no ones fault but my own. If i knew the extent of the how high maintenance the band was, i think i would of opted for the sleeve.

I recently received a 6,000 dollar bill for my lap band. apparently my insurance didn't cover it when i was told it was. The clinic i was going to closed without notice. I went months calling the office until i got a hold of someone and they informed me the clic was closed. My insurance recently changed due to my job.. hopefully kaiser could help me out.

  2. So for the past couple of months i've been trying to get another fill. My insurance wont cover it so i was suppose to get some papers sent to apply for hardship. Those papers never came. I've been calling and calling the person in charge of my case and she doesn't answer. I've emailed her, left her voice mails and nothing. I tried calling the clinic where i get my adjustments and the number isn't working, Should i just look for a different place closer to me to take over?

  3. At first i told a few at work because we would go to lunches too. My boss had her opinion about me having the surgery but that's all it is, an opinion. I came out to my friends and fam on fb on my 2 month post op and i don't regret it nor am i ashamed of having my surgery. People have been private messaging me about my band and trying to get info because they themselves are considering the band. There are those few negative people but its your life your body not theirs.

  4. oh gosh that must be tough and I'm over here complaining about a week lol. Last month wasnt so bad but this month i've felt drained this time around. Zumba is so fun you should give it a try. I found something that i enjoyed and I'm sticking to it. The gym bores me and in zumba my hour flies by! Thank you are doing awesome as well. That's y i love this forum. I know there are people here who understand what I'm going through and could give me some advice.

  5. This week has been tough. I'm not sure if its because it's the time of the month. Any ladies have a hard time during this time? I haven't made the best food choices, but they were not horrible. I only went to zumba twice this week. I hope to be back to normal next week. I have another follow up appointment on the 16th. I hope i lost something. I feel like i got adjusted to the first fill too quickly. Idk i just feel off =/

  6. I find it hard to eat healthy on this puree stage and i'm SICK of Protein drinks. I have had some fine shredded chicken and turkey i just hope i don't cause anything to slip by eating shredded chicken. I've been tolerating it just fine though. I'm supposed to start soft foods on Wednesday. I do feel some restriction. I eat about 1/2c to a 1c of food in an hr and my first fill is scheduled for July 19.

  7. Did anyone have oatmeal or cream of wheat during this stage?

No. Oatmeal and Cream of Wheat are mushies. They are for the next stage. Hang in there. Once you progress to mushies, you may have them. :)

In my post op diet sheet, watered cream of wheat is included as the thick liquid stage. I'll have to double check
