  1. I understand your frustration but lossing 10lbs is still good!! Focus on the good!! I'm 1yr post op and not where I wanted to be!! I was 198 on the day of surgery so I started off with less to lose but had a reasonable goal of 145 after 1 yr!! I have struggle the last 5 months with little weight loss!! Due to life changes moving and stressors it's been hard to do right!! I have also STILL not reached the "green zone" and I currently at 7cc in a 11cc band. Just got to 7cc today!! The doctor is my new one since the move but he said not to lose hope!! Just keep with it!! I'm also taking meds that increase my appetite which makes my journey even harder!! I have to remind myself daily that I can do this!! That I'm strong!! And after 1 yr I have to remind myself where I was!! I was a sz 16-18 pants at the beginning and now I'm a sz 8 so although the scale isn't where I want the inches are going!! That's another good thing to do!! Measure yourself!! That way you can see the changes there sometimes there is no weight change but the are inches going!! Don't lose hope!! I remind myself still and we must continue reminding ourself a daily forever!! It's a life journey and you just started!! I recently got a tattoo..I'm a tattoo girl...lol but it was my way to help me remember to believe in myself!! And it's on my wrist so when I exercise and eat I see it!! It's my way of remember I can do it!! We all have our things that's mine...find something to help you keep the faith in yourself!! It helps!!! Good luck!! We all support each other!

  2. Just wanted to update my progress today I'm weighing 160 which means I'm now 36lbs down. Recently had a fill on sept 10 my band is now at 6cc in a 11cc band. Feeling pretty good with the restriction no trouble with eating at all!! I hope everyone continues to work hard and stay positive I have been a slow loser but still very content and know it's a process and it's not gonna happen over night!! Good luck everyone I'll keep updating everyone tanks for the support!

  3. I was banded on February 18 2014 weighing 196lbs today I'm at 172lbs my weight loss has been slow and still struggling to see if I'm really in the green zone....don't believe so. I have 5 cc in a 11 cc band. Just got to the 5 cc in June so dr. Is giving it time and I go back in sept. To see if I need a another fill. So overall I say it's hard and will probably be at a slower rate since ur starting bmi was lower. Good luck to you I hope you have success!!!

  4. Well, I have done it!!! Surgery was a success completed it on feb 18th!! I5 days post op, feeling pretty good, just real tight around port area and shoulder pain that doesn't want to go away. But no major complaints!! Now just resting and getting use to what I can eat for the time being. any idea on when the tightness starts to go away>?? Thanks everyone for the support!!

  5. Ok....so I'm struggling! I am so ready for this surgery but I'm in the process of quitting smoking....I thought I could do it cold turkey...boy I was wrong! So for the last three days I've been pulling my hair out with this process...I've had two cigs. And tonight decided its best to do it slowly so I'm going to only smoke two a day.....I guess cutting down first is best. Well is there anyone out there that was a smoker and quit for the lap band?? How long before surgery do u have to quit? I have my first appt with the surgeon on jan 10. Hoping to quit cigs by then....I need support thanks you all!!!

  6. Ok...so my surgery was approved by tricare!!!! OMG!!!! So excited but scared! Now waiting on tricare to inform me if my fills will be covered...can't get the surgery if follow up care is not covered! Praying it is and I have the green light to go ahead with the surgery!! Well....question to all....can someone give me an idea on how much they eat daily? So I can start wrapping everything in my head!! Thanks again for the followers and support!

  7. Hello everyone,

I wanted to start this in hopes to gather support through this process. Since my parents and family are not too supportive! I'm a 31 year old with a BMI of 37. I had my first appointment with my family doctor about getting WLS in sept. I have been researching WLS for about a year now and decided based off research that the lap band seemed to be the best choice for me. Today I had my physc. evaluation and not only did the doctor write that I am cleared for the lap band, but that I would benefit from the surgery both physically and mentally as well! After my appointment I spoke with my family dr. and was told I would get a call tomorrow to find out if the referral would be sent into Tricare (my insurance company). Im so excited and scared. I just have worked to get to this point and don't want to hear bad news!! So if you all will pray I get good news by the end of the week!! Since Tricare only has two days to approve the referral!

Thanks in advance for all the comments and support!!

  8. Hello, I'm in the beginning process of trying to get approval from Tricare prime overseas in Germany. I am currently awaiting Tricare to respond to my question but wanted to see if anyone else who has gone through the process or is going through the process has an answer. I wanted to know how many months of documented visits with your PCM showing no weight loss was needed prior to approval. and if once your PCM send the referral in and Tricare approves referral does that mean your approved for the surgery? Thanks to all that respond!!!!
