Has anyone heard of B12 Nascobal

I've never taken the nasal spray but I do take B12 everyday. It's a gummy so I think of it as a treat. And I can tell the difference with taking it and not taking it. It gives me lots more energy.

    Can You Really Start Over?

Did they say anything about a hernia? Just curious because before I was even banded I had major acid reflux from a hernia. Now I still have it and it's even worse if I eat anything that aggrivates it. I take Prilosec daily to control it.

    Port site discomfort

My port is the same way. I run around 4 miles a day and my port gets very sensitive if I take a day off. You can clearly see it under my skin. It wasn't so noticeable till I lost some more weight. I'm 4 pounds from goal and I'm hoping it won't stick out even more. I heard something about a "skinny girl" port but I'm sure it would require surgery and to me it's just not worth switching it out.

    Possible slip?

I know it can't be confirmed without a doctors visit but I thought maybe I can get some advice. Thursday I had gotten a nut stuck. I ended up throwing up. Like from my lower stomach. Like an idiot I continued eating that day cause I felt "unstuck" well everything I ate immediately came up. Lower stomach throwing up once again. So from that afternoon on I decided to stay on liquids. Well I even had trouble getting water and my protein shake down. So all day yesterday I just had my coffee and water and a double protein shake. Everything is staying down not feeling "stuck" but now I'm burping everytime I sip anything. I called the surgeon they told me to wait it out until Monday because it could be from my sinus infection and swelling. I have no acid reflux at night but I'm still afraid to try to eat anything soild. I did have a string cheese last night that I chewed really well and it basically slid down. Then some oatmeal but very small amount. I guess basically what I'm asking is has anyone had these symptoms with a slip?

    Possible slip?

Thanks so much for your response. Makes me feel better. My husband thinks I'm overreacting. He said if it slipped he thinks I would feel some pain. But I've read different so I was freaking out lol

    Confused

I'm actually having the same problem the past 2 days. Yesterday I threw up everything I ate. Even my protein shake. I've never had that happen before so of course I was freaking all day and night that I had a slip. I did call the doctor today and they asked if I was stressed and I told them not more than normal but I am getting over a sinus infection. They said to give it a couple more days before coming in and see how I feel. I didn't exercise last night or this morning because my band actually hurt. I've never had a day where I couldn't eat anything. Today I'm getting my protein shake down with no problem so hopefully it was just inflamed and there isn't a slip. It's crazy how finicky our bands are. I hope you start feeling better. My insurance requires me to go every year for a barium swallow so on my 1 year band anniversary in July I'll find out if anything is out of wack. Best of luck to you
  8. So I went for a follow up with my PCP yesterday for routine blood tests and vitamin levels. My doctor is a bit over cautious. Well I haven't seen him in over a year and he was just amazed with me. I was do excited to see everything was great! No vitamin deficiencies, no high blood pressure or sugar or cholesterol! But the very best feeling was walking out of there with paperwork that didn't say morbidly obese or even obese. For once I was happy to have gone to the doctors.

    Confused

I'm the same way. I watch everything I eat. My surgeon would always tell me to stop counting calories. But even tho I've let myself eat things I shouldn't, they are still part of my calories for the day. I eat 3 times a day and sometimes will have a snack at night depending on if I ate before it after my workout. I usually consume around 800 calories a day and then work off a good chunk of them. I have a very hard time getting my calories in everyday. But I can say I'm def in the green and happy where I am.

    Primary care giver

I agree with the treadmill. I work 60 hours a week plus have a mini farm. I don't usually have much time for anything but I finally decided I needed to put myself first. I get up at 445 every morning to run on the treadmill and then either before or after dinner I run on the treadmill before bed. I make it almost like my job that I have to do everyday. And days I miss one workout I feel crappy. Plus it makes me get even more of my water intake in everyday

    Lifestyle Change or Not?

I researched the lap band extensively before having it done. I have been overweight my entire life. I choose to change my "lifestyle" completely when deciding on the lap band. The thing I realized is people that each unhealthy will not learn how to properly maintained their nutrition. They will most likely continue eating crap foods and eventually just put on the weight again. That's why it's important to follow a nutritious meal plan. I lost 38 pounds in a month in a half before my surgery from following a high protein, lower calorie diet. I stuck with the same meal plans after my surgery. I have trained myself to feel bad when I have something that I shouldn't. But it keeps me on track. I choose to eat things with nutritional value because it has allowed my skin to shrink with my weight loss and I have a healthy glow. Between proper diet and exercise I was able to not worry about having to have skin removed. I've had people that I didn't know before say I can't imagine you ever being heavy. And that makes me feel great. My feeling are why have a surgery to improve your life if your going to die from a heart attack anyways from eating fast food or having a stick of butter with your potatos.
  12. I run on the treadmill twice a day. Ends up being a little more than an hour per day. I've noticed that the scale doesn't move as easy now but I physically can see the inches that I have loss running. Water retention is a bitch when your use to scale watching

    Leg Cramps

If I don't get my "normal" water intake in everyday I do get leg cramps. I think now my body depends on my high water consumption everyday and I get a hungover feeling when u don't reach it. It's almost like being dehydrated. I would try drinking more water and see if it helps.

    vitamin called vitex

I would be curious to know if it works also. I went thru 2 years of agressive ivf treatments and still have no kids. Eventually I would like to try again (not using ivf, that's when I put on most of my weight) but I'm still not regular after loosing over 100 pounds. Let us know how it worked out. Best of luck to you
  15. Thanks everyone for your well wishes! Physically I feel much better today, even tho my throat still hurts. I did complete my workout last night and this morning so hopefully I'm on my way to recovery
  16. I usually exercise twice a day. I skipped this morning because I've been feeling crappy (sinus infection) the past couple days. I had some trouble today with things staying down. But I thought I got in enough calories to work out. So I did my regular workout. Well now I can't get dinner down and my band hurts. Wondering if I should do liquids for a couple days and no exercise? I'm afraid if I don't exercise that my band will tighten up and I not be use to my workout routine.
  17. Thanks. I think I'm going to try liquids for a couple days. When I first started working out it took about 2 weeks untill my band stopped hurting and being inflamed. I think it's from the pulling when running. It would swell and be tighter. I just don't want to go thru that again if I stop for a couple days

I feel like i'm lying to people!

Thanks everyone for your responses...I'm going to try to have a better outlook regarding the band. I think because of the negativity I had received beforehand made me have a different outlook on how I felt about it.

I feel like i'm lying to people!

Great way to handle it ...you seem to have already been extremely successful with your new lifestyle change and I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I know this adventure is just as much mental as it is physical. It just takes some getting use to ????

I feel like i'm lying to people!

Lol your too funny....I feel like she knows shes wrong because even when everyone says how good I look she just keeps quiet and never says anything. I know it's a struggle.

I feel like i'm lying to people!

I agree. Before my surgery I lost 38 pounds from just watching what I eat and working out. So when people ask me my meal plans and things like that I just tell them what I did when I started out. That way it can help them with their lifestyle change but keep my surgery a secret.

I feel like i'm lying to people!

Thanks everyone. You guys always make me feel better. Before my surgery I had gotten into a heated argument with my best friends mother in law. She's a nurse and basically said I was lazy and just making excuses for not loosing weight. Little did she know I had went thru 2 years of aggressive invetro and the hormones made me gain 50 pounds along with already being overweight and having thyroid problems. I was a recipe for disaster. It just made me start thinking how people will really react to weight loss surgery.

I feel like i'm lying to people!

I think that's why I don't tell everyone. I feel like they would judge me saying it was the easy way out. I don't think people understand the commitment it takes. I just sometimes feel guilty. Then people always ask me to help them. So I just tell them what I do without saying the band part.
