There are plenty of other words that start with D that can describe a husband. LOL With mine it was drunk! There are also dead, dumb, damm, darling, drooling, doopey, deadbeat, and the list goes on...

I'm so glad she liked it and so glad you went too. I think the secret is doing it together. Do all you can with her now. In a couple years she will have a dramtic personality change and you will get so dumb and outdated...until she's about 23. Then you will get smart again. All kiddin aside, I think she will love sharing with you. You can meal plan, shop, cook and exercise together. It will be very special to be your partner in this. Give her a big hug from me.

The Lurker got a surgery date!
sfeiner replied to pennyt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad to hear from you Penny. Lurkers are welcome but it's nice to get to know you. -
I love my CPAP too. Before I got it I would get so tired during the day that I would have to nap or I litterly couldn't stay awake. Is there something that is uncomfortable on the mask? Maybe it's too tight. I keep mine as loose as possible to still maintain a seal. Tell your RT whay it's bothering you. There are lots of different mask types and nasal pillows. Keep trying.

Try taking something like pepcid ac or zantac. If that doesn't help you should call your Dr.

OOPPPS I forgot to complain about anything. Here goes. The weather is crappy here and basements are flooding (roads too) Last night our big grill blew over and our flag blew off the pole. Piddly little things compared to all the problems with wind and rain some are having. I feel really bad for those people with no power. I'm complaing for them. Official complaint registered.

We have so many dog lovers on here. I think we need a thread just for doggies and their pictures. Love them! Ok we could include kitties too.

A place for bandsters in their 60's
sfeiner replied to Oregondaisy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Everyone is different but I'll tell you how it was for me. I spent the first night in the hosp. (that was thursday) Got NO sleep! Second day I got a ride to a nearbye hotel (actually I had spent the night before surgery there and had stocked the frig with sf popsickles and slim fast) Went to bed with pain meds. Every couple hours I got up, took some fluids (sip sip) and walked around the room. It's all kind of hazy because pain meds put me in a daze. I slept good. I had a pillow at my back and one at my tummy. Once I sat in the recliner for awhile and fell asleep. I spent 2 nights there and the next day (Sunday) I felt good and rested and didn't need anything for pain so I checked out and drove home. I took a week off work but otherwise did all my normal things at home. I went to Walmart everyday for exercise because I had had back surgery a few months before and still needed something (cart) to hang onto when I walked. So I guess that's 3 days to feel human and 1 week to return to work or lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. -
Allison, Yes she's 1/2 bichon and 1/2 maltese. She's a year old and weighs 8 pounds. My daughter has a 1/2 bichon and 1/2 shi-tzu and he is bigger. A couple days ago I saw a 8 month old bichon and he was adorable. I love dogs of all types but esp maltese and bichons. That's why I got the mix.

I think it's good to talk about other things. That's how we get to know each other. I think we all have issues other than weight to help each other with. What I HATE is when ppl throw insults at others.

Yes Longhorn, you are an inspiration. I'm still keeping you in my prayers.

I think I jumped to conclusions too fast. Sorry.

I hope you heal quickly. Have you got some good pain meds? Make yourself deep breath and cough so you don't get pneumonia. It's common after broken ribs because it hurts to move the sputum out of the lungs and it sits there and turns into cement...I mean pneumonia..So deep breath and cough it out . Take your pain meds, Splint yourself with pillows and give us your best cough.

I think she's back with a different name.

Did you have any restriction in the solid food pre-fill phase?
sfeiner replied to ponytail's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, you don't need a fill. That is a tremendous loss. You have good restriction. Any more and you would be too tight. You don't want that! Eventually you might want more food and stop losing. Then look into getting a fill. -
Hi Julie, I'm from Wi too. Baraboo-near the dells. Where are you from?

It it okay to sleep on your side right after surgery?
sfeiner replied to Cheryl Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept on my sides while I was still in hosp. I don't think I could sleep any other way. -
The purpose of the band is that you shouldn't have to be on any diet. You just eat less of everything. You are susposed to get in 60=80 gms of protien and around 1000-1200 cal per day. I think if you insist on a diet, south beach is good and so is ww. Some people like low card.
-
What she told you is how you will probably want to eat after you get good restriction. Of course you can still have the things you love. Just not as much as before.
-
You look great and so much younger.
-
I would absolutely do it.

Heimlich Maneuver and lapband question
sfeiner replied to angelface's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you mean "would it work?" the answer is yes. The food chokeing you would be up much higher in your throat and the air being forced from your lungs is what pops out the food. -
April 23 will be here before you know it. I'm happy for you. I know how hard it is to wait. I'm constantly having a hard time not eating (but I don't have good restriction) I try to keep drinking water and I walk now that the weather is getting better.

I am looking for a man of any kind with a big Motorhome, money for gas, enough of his wits left to drive it and a hankering to see the US. He must be laid back and have a sense of humor. He must be satisfied with a fat and soon to be saggy old lady with poor memory, no desire to cook for him, no desire to clean said motor home, no desire to please him in much of any way. Oh, and he must be willing to travel to Baraboo, Wi to let my family check him out (6 sisters and a bunch of grown kids) Thats all. You shouldn't have any problem.
