Lap Band
Whether I get the sleeve or band, I would like to tell my banders, "Thank you! from day one for all the support and advice. I made a few friends here and I enjoyed taking with you guys. I've been on the sleeve forum lately, but had to stop by and read what's good with my friends...hehehe. Ok, carry on."

Liquid Diet
Is the liquid diet a must or is it only recommend by the insurance?

I Lived Through This Surgery, My Sister Didn't.
I hope you and your family are doing well. My condolence again. I read your story over and over, so hurt by what has happened. I'm proud of you to have the courage and send your story. My heart goes out once again. May her soul rest in peace, and may your family get answers.

What I Hate!
I hate when people say, "Why surgery? You can lose weight on your own." I hate when people say, "Your taking the easy way out." I hate it when people say, "You were never "Fat" just big bone." B.S. when people see you trying to better yourself, they find ways to keep you down because you being down keep them up. I don't care what people have to say, I'm doing me. There are people already not in my circle anymore, and I haven't even had my surgery yet. Imagine when I do, its really gonna ache them. Oh well, I know now who's for me and not against me. TEAM WLS!!!

Any Sleeves In Florida?
Best surgeon or recommended surgeon to do the sleeve procedure. I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, so anyone knows of good doctors in this area? The furthest I'd travel would be Sarasota/Bradenton area.

I Lived Through This Surgery, My Sister Didn't.
In sorry that happened, my condolence. I'm scared now about doing this surgery. She seem fine, but passed away because of complications. I'm really considering getting a trainer and doing it differently. This is scary. Sorry again for your lost.

Dr. In My Area No Longer Does Lapband. Ugh!
Thanks again. I am starting to just do this without any surgery, because the sleeve staples same to be the problem for real. Your sister situation I'm thinking is the staples doing that. That's the one thing I can't put my thoughts around. Having my inside staple. After a while its sure to give you problems. Now the band is what I want, however, the after maintenance is my problem. Being single with no help may not be good for me. The after care can become expensive. The insurance denied me 4 times, claiming I have no serious issues. My weight can be control with a good diet and exercise S.O.B. Been there done that. I need a darn tool. Back to the hypoglycemia with sleeves and bypass patients. Yes, I've read that and also been told that by doctors. I actually have those episodes sometimes now. If I wait to long to eat, I get shakey, weak, and lightheaded. I usually eat peanut butter then I'm back to normal. I went to the doctor and they said, "I'm not diabetic nor hypertension." However, its my stubbornness that cause this. I am not a Breakfast person. I get up at 7am off to work and eat like 3ish or 7ish at night. Its a bad habit I have. Then when I finally eat, its bad choices. And I eat lots of it. So, that's where I am guilty at. Anyhow, I'm rambling on. Thanks

Yeah, I believe so too. Its less time.consuming for them, so they revert.to the other procedures. I can agree.

Dr. In My Area No Longer Does Lapband. Ugh!
Thanks for your honesty. Yes, I have put all that into consideration. I was worried about the stapling inside, its not what I want. How did your sister do with it? Is she doing well? I like the sleeve because no long term aftercare as much. Being self paid I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford fills. Idk NaNa, I have to think of any WLS super hard. I'm scared and nervous, but I'm still doing research. Thanks!

Pregnant With Sleeve Surgery?
Anyone had issues with the staples detaching after becoming pregnant. A bit worried getting pregnant after having my sleeve done. I wouldn't want the baby and I in danger if the staples become loose and it cause a leakage. Can this happen?

Confused on what surgery to have
I'm in the same boat. There are doctors here (South, Florida) not doing the lap band period anymore.

Band Or Sleeve?
You were more then helpful, some advice is better then none.

Band Or Sleeve?
Thanks! Sorry about the complication with your sister. I agree with you. I've done both research, but what gets me is cutting half of my stomach and being staple from the inside. However, I'll take on your advice and keep doing research. Thanks again.

Band Or Sleeve?
I was thinking of the sleeve, but since its nor reverseable I got a bit scared. The sleeve is more cost effective then the band. However, with the sleeve doing my research I've read more complications. Such as leakage, dumping, and etc. I'm confused. Help? Anyone had problems?
