It has to have a min of 20 grams protein , max of 7 carbs/sugars, and max of 5 grams of fat per scoop. -
Prettythick- I am excited to see your posts as we both live in Houston and are the same starting weight. I don't have a date yet but am thrilled to see how good your loss is going. What shake did you use pre op?

I think I have come to a point in my life where I am ready to be out of bondage to food. Anyone else out there who was a bad dieter but has been successful with this new tool?

omg I love a basket of chips with red and green sauce then some cheese enchiladas and a taco! HOWEVER, I love my children more and think it is time to really think what all this is about. Sweetrose, not to go all Jesus on you but I too have been having a ton of doubts lately and have been really thinking about it and this is my conclusion. My weight has held me back my whole life- no enchilada crawls in my bed and tells me it loves me. When I have a doubt, I think, that is the devil, wanting me to stay where I have always been, a little afraid, a little hesitant, a little held back and I don't think that is the life I was created for. As I deal with my fat/ weight issues, I will be stronger for myself and my family, I will be teaching my children restraint and moderation, I will be able to put my energy somewhere else other than figuring out how I can get a third enchilada without seeming like a freak. I will be free. Not to say losing weight will change everything, my life really is pretty good now, but it will help me move on to more. Stand fast. -

I have the scope set up for 11-04 and from there I will know if I get banded- if no hernia- no band. It sure would be nice to have a bag of money show up on my doorstep -
I have United Healthcare Health Select- useless. You have to be at 40 bmi for 5 yrs, your dedutible is $5K and a lot of other nonsense. I talked to tr today and they said they will test me for a hiatial hernia. If I have that which is likely since my pcp was going to check me for it, they said they can do that surgery and do the lap band- the insurance company will pay for the hiatial hernia surgery and I will pay the rest- basically the same $5K for all with the one year follow ups/fills. HOWEVER, are they sure about this? What do I need from my insurance company to know the surgery will be covered?

Hi, I go tomorrow, Thursday and am interested to see what they have to say. I am similar to you Rose with about 80lbs to loose. But my insurance will not cover it- I had a phone consultation today and since I may have a hernia, I may be able to get it done for about the same price as if my insurance covered it- we will see.
