  1. I weighed in at 272.0 lbs. I showed a weight gain. I know it's not much, but a gain is just that - a gain. I have showed a weight loss then I show a weight gain. It is very frustrating.
  2. I have told both of my friends about this support group. Neither of them seem interested in it. I don't know what I would do without the support I have received from here. I wish they would join me for walks, but they don't want to go - so I go by myself. I agree, only my friends can decide for themselves what to eat and not eat. I wish I could find a better way to be supportive.
  3. I know 2 friends who recently had lapband. I see them struggle with the food restrictions they have. I hear other people who think they are trying to help, tell them what to eat and not eat. I see them getting annoyed! I am trying to find a way to be supportive. One lady had her surgery 3 weeks ago. I told her I want to be her support by eating what she does. I know it wont hurt me since I haven't had surgery yet, and it might add to my weight loss. She says she is ok with that, if I want to. I don't know what else I can do. Why cant other people butt out?
  4. I weighed in last week on a scale at 271.6 lbs, this week 270.0 lbs. I bet the Surgeon's scale would be different.
  5. I weighed in on the Surgeon's scale then at a different scale that I weigh in weekly on. I weighed myself on both scales on the same day. The Surgeon's scale weighed me 5 lbs less then the other scale. I use the scale that is not at the Dr.'s office more often. The Surgeon scale shows a weigh loss but not as much on the other scale. Which weight should I use? I feel that I need to use my own scale!

  7. Man or Woman, you do deserve someone who will care about you through good times and bad times. I don't think gaining 9 lbs is a reason to quit loving someone. Maybe they have a self-esteem problem. Have you both gone through couple counseling?
  8. The jerk couldn't tell you this face to face. He was a coward to tell you how he felt in an email. he didn't care about how you feel. Not all people are like this! I would email him a Dear John letter and move on to better things. You do deserve it!
  9. Even though I have difficulties with exercise do to the arthritis I have in my legs and back, I do walk. I walk up one flight of stairs almost every day. I have walked 1 mile walks to 5x's walks. I am slow at walking, I do use a cane. I might go at turtle's pace, but I am okay with that.
  10. I was weighing 272 lbs at my first visit to my Surgeon, but I gained to 273 lbs. After today's appointment I am now 265 lbs. I hope I can continue the weight lost. I have 2 more months to go before the paper work will submitted. I could do this without your support!
  11. Up in the top Right corner where your name is - click on that. Click on My Tickers. you can edit your Tickers there.
  12. I did talk the Surgeon's nurse today. She said so long I show I am trying to follow instructions, I should be ok. She was able to see what I weighed at my PCP visit a few days ago. She said she did notice I did lose weight since my last visit with them.
  13. I found out today my Starting weight was more then I thought it was. I corrected my Ticker so it show what I have lost so far.
  14. I got another thing done on the surgeon's TO DO List; I was able to get the statement saying I am MEDICALLY CLEARED for surgery.
  15. I found out I have only 3 more nutrition classes to go to starting next month and I will also see the exercise physiologist. I am hoping by Feb, I will be ready for my journey.
  16. I got my Ticker back!
  17. How do I get my ticker back?
  18. I am wondering what hospital you went to. I am sorry you had such complications. I would hope they would not charge you for both surgeries. After all, the second surgery was due to the surgeon and not you. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
  19. Congratulations! I am glad you had a good experience at the hospital. It is wonderful that you have such good support from your husband. One day - not sure when, I am hoping to be able to say "I been banded".
  20. I did call the Dr's office, and they said they want me to try not to gain weight before surgery. So I am going to work harder to do just that.
  21. I am tired of being Chubby! I know this weight isnt good for me and my knees. Your right, Holidays is no excuse not to follow what the Dr wants me do. I will call my Dr's office and make sure I know what he wants me to do.
  22. By going to the support group, you might get the chance to meet someone else who may want Lap Band Surgery and you can share your story with them.
  23. Weather permitting, I will go to every appt.
