Everything went well.. Cried the whole first night was in a ton of pain but it's starting to get better little by little.. My incision sights are bleeding a little.. Is that normal?

Thank you so much everyone you made me feel a lot better! I'm still nervous but I'm definitely going to go through with it! I know I have the will power and determination to "beat the bulge" especially with the help of the lap band, and you guys!!! I'll see you all on the other side!!!
And again thank you so much for your words of encouragement this site was the best thing I could have stumbled on to!

I am getting banded tmrw at 4pm and I am having some serious doubts! What if something goes wrong or I develop and blood clot and have a stroke? Why if something goes wrong with the band? Or I get this and don't lose weight? There are a million things going through my head right now and all I wanna do is cry!! Someone please talk me down from my hysteria!!!

Today is 14 days before my surgery and my liquid diet starts today. I'm scared that I'm always going to be hungry and weak from not eating. I also have to work my normal shifts at my two jobs. I don't know what to expect.. How did you guys do with your liquid diet?

I recently got approved and surgery is scheduled on November 4th in Chicago! I'd love to talk to and meet others who are getting or have been recently banded. I'm 23 and living in the Chicagoland area. I'd really love to talk to all of you and track our progress together!Hey I'm 23 also and live in New York. I'm getting banded Nov. 7th! I start my all liquid diet this coming Thursday.. Not looking forward to it, however I can not wait till my surgery date! I was a little scared last week about complications and such but this site made me feel so much better!

LoL on the video!! The most difficult days for me were the first three days' date=' after that it was a breeze. Some people dont experience hunger during the two weeks, lets hope youre one of Them. I have no doubt you'll stay committed, I mean, you said you've lost before WITHOUT a tool like the band.... Imagine what you'll accomplish with it! Believe in yourself. And visit is daily <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']How much time do you suggest I take off work/school? I'm a nursing student and I work as a medical assistant in a doctors office and I'm a manager at cvs so I'm always on my feet and active? I'm struggling with judging how much time I should take.. What do you think?
-
You can do this. Just as I tell everyone' date=' there is likely cold feet right before a major commitment, it will be like you are marrying your band! A whole new life! Sure there are ups and downs, and there could be complications, but I felt like I was burried alive when I was at my highest weight and that wasn't living. Living my life that way was a complication. Good luck, you deserve this![/quote']Thank you I think I needed to hear that.. I feel the same way.. I can't understand how being so big can make you feel so invisible.. Like you aren't worth as much as other people, or they just see through you.. I'm so ready for this to be the new me..

I am so thankful I found this site! Thanks everyone I'm a little less nervous! I just hope these 20 days go by fast! Especially the 2 weeks of liquid diet!
Ohhhh on a side note: I'm a nursing student so I decided to pull a video of a lab band surgery and watch it from start to finish...... Yaaaaaa I don't recommend that at all!!!

I'm not saying you won't be hungry during the preop phase' date=' but honestly I wasn't. I had to do some convincing to keep hubby from becoming a closet eater. He was hesitant to eat in front of me. But I truly wasn't bothered by it. You will do fine. As for complications, they can happen to anybody, but odds are pretty slim. Just keep your focus on the prize ahead. It is just a tool not a solution, but it has been very helpful to me and lots others.[/quote']I'm determined now to stick to the diet and exercise but will I still be motivated in 6 months? I'm afraid to become one of those people who loses the weight and gains it all back! (That is my past weight loss experience! -100lb to +100lb) I just wish my surgery was tomorrow because for the next 20 days I will just be in my head with doubt.. My goal is to lose 110lb (and keep it off)

Lauren' date=' you are NOT alone. Only really HARDCORE people don't have second thoughts, specially if you've been reading horror stories. Yes, the exist, but for every horror story there are numerous more success stories. It's good that you are educating yourself, that way you can make an informed decision. Let THAT help you make your mind up..... Never fear! Fear paralyzes you and keeps us from greatness.[/quote']Thank you so much, that helped a lot. I am a worrier by nature and even now I'm thinking of possible problems I could encounter even tho I know I'll be fine .. I just have to keep telling myself that!

My surgery date is Nov. 7th! I was very excited until I started reading horror stories online. I'm now afraid of complications or not losing weight. I start my liquid diet this coming Thursday and I'm also worried about being weak and irritable during those two weeks!! Can anyone offer words of support and or your success stories! So I know I'm not alone!
Thanks!

I'm feeling noticeably better today! Day 3 post op and gas pain still a slight issue but nothing too bad. Also incision pain going away quickly. Besides the incision where my port is the rest are perfect! After all my worrying nothing went wrong during surgery! I'm just listening to every instruction the doctor is giving me post op! I'm tolerating liquids fine, but my stomach makes some weird noises when I try and drink, anyone else have that?
Thanks for all the support everyone I'm so so so glad I went through with this!
