    First Fill - hungry

What do you mean "moving around with a needle in your stomach? Does the needle stay in your portal? Doesn't the dr. remove it after the fill? Something I have never heard before. Thanks for your answers.
  5. I will be banded on Mon. Jan. 27th at 1 PM. Am getting nervous and apprehensive..I KNOW I will do good. I am so glad I am a "bariatricpal". I would not have known about the shoulder pain or that walking is the only thing that really relieves it and so many other things. I'm so afraid I will catch a cold and my surgery will be postponed. Gosh, I will be so happy when the surgery is over.. True story;;;My 7 yr old grandson (didn't even know that he knew I was going into the hospital) asked his teacher if the school could pray for me on Monday. Bless his heart, his other grandfather just passed away 2 weeks ago, and he had been in the hospital with cancer. He thought the hospital was the reason for his death. I have explained to him ... I will be with him for a long time and that the hospital visit I am taking will allow me to live a much longer and fun filled life with him..

    New to forum, advice please!

I don't know your age, but as a 70 year old, I can tell you, that you extra weight does have health consequences. My back, hips, and knees all need replacements or surgery. I'm one of the lucky ones as my genetics are good and so I don't have blood pressure, cholesterol, or diabetes. So you will save yourself by doing lb now instead of later. I was in the same boat as you, no one thought I needed surgery. I almost missed the opportunity to help myself. Wishing you all the best and I think you are making a wise decision. Let me know how you are doing. I will be banded the 27th of Jan. I am so excited and looking forward to a healthier body and life style.

    New to forum, advice please!

I don't think there is a right or wrong way to go thru lb surgery. I want to share the good news with everyone..I wish someone would have told me about the success they had with this surgery. I hope, by sharing the good news, I am able to help someone else, maybe even save some lives. Well that's just me and no matter which road we choose..we all have hundreds of supporters thru Bariactric Pal. Good luck to all. I am cheering for your success.

Well, I'm 70 and telling everyone..I want as much support as possible and as many prayers for success as possible. I am being banded on Jan. 27..can't wait. I just read "banded I will control the quality and the band will control the quantity.." Isn' that a wonderful thought? I will say a prayer for your success..but, rmember most people are there to support you not hurt you. Wishing us both a happy future.

  22. Hi again, I feel like I have made the cheerleaders squad since I joined bariatric pal! Go Team!! WIN, WIN, WIN...but to win we have to lose. I live in the St. Louis area and am the oldest lap bander...I just turned 70! You are so lucky that you are having surgery so young. I'm sure it will save your hips and knees, etc. I feel younger just thinking about losing weight. My hips and knees and back are also Cheering me on. GO TEAM!

    No pre-op diet?

My doctor put me on a l400 cal. diet for 2 weeks prior to my surgery..doesn't seem like much of a diet compared to what I read others are doing. I wonder if it is because I am a weight watcher?
  24. My lap=band date is January 27, 2014..can't wait. New Year, new life..the best is yet to come.. Would love to know the best Protein drinks that everyone likes.
