  1. I a few weeks ago I had an upper GI and found out that my band had slipped... Because I was feeling better after they took a small amount of Fluid out, they decided that they will wait and see. Last night was BAD- almost had to go into the ER, but I went to bed instead. I received a call this morning from the wls center and I have to go in tomorrow to be accessed. I am sure they are going to take out the remaining fluid from my band (I know this because of my last appointment). I know it's for the best, in the long run. I haven't even hit the "green zone" and now I have to start all over. Please, anyone that has gone through this, tell me it will be ok. Tell me you are doing better after this happened to you. I am so upset and depressed, I don't know what to do anymore!!!

  2. I am 10 days post op and I am so sick of being on the this liquid diet. I see my nutritionist on Thursday and it cant come soon enough. As of yesterday, I have been allowed to have cottage cheese. I knew that this would be a challenge, but I assumed that I would have some kind of restriction until my first fill. I feel fine and I have my full appetite back. I started this journey last February and I am not able to start my first fill until January. From what I read, some ppl need multiple fills, which will put me past the year mark before the band will 'doing its job'. I have learned a lot of during this process, but I am really struggling that this was the right decision for me. Has anyone felt like this? Thanks for listening.

  3. Out of my many 'Thanks' that I have, I am very blessed to have a wonderful banding buddy. Thank you and to everyone on this site!!!

I know every year I'm thankful but this year is different. And I'd just like to shout from the rooftops for a moment. I am thankful for:

To the Lord for a new chance at a better life. Banded 6 days ago.
The new side my husband showed me in taking care of me.
The support of my dearest friends.
The surgeon who is the nicest doctor ever and answers questions and, wants email updates.
The two online support groups I've become a part of here on one on Facebook you guys are wonderful.
EmJay my band buddy, banded the same day we're in this together.
And so much more I'd be here days if I listed all.

  4. Tomorrow is the big day for you! How are you feeling? Mine is Friday and I had a complete melt down today. I am so scared the dr is going to open me up and say-- yup you cheated, come back later. I will keep you in my prayers. Keep us posted!!

Thanks. :) I have six days to go. So ready to do this.

My son loves Thanksgiving, it is his favorite day of the year. He looks forward to it and the big spread I always put on. He was gutted when I first told him that the big feast wasn't happening this year. But he was cool about it in a couple of minutes. He gets why. And his grandmother is going to do a smaller Thanksgiving dinner for him and his dad so that they don't miss out and I can take the day off for a change. :D

To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to spending the day on my own. My broth and a good book, maybe a good movie or two... :) Does that sound awful?

  5. I finally started my pre-op diet today and reality is starting to set in!!! I live in Wisconsin and we are blessed with some doozys of winter weather! With that in mind, does anyone have any recommendations for a good, womens walking boot? I need to eliminate the 'excuses' out of my life, so I would like to have a good boot to wear after it snows. I have done a general internet search, but I would like to hear your thoughts! Thank you in advance. :D

  6. I am so excited, only 3 more weeks until my surgery day!! I have been on this journey for some time now and now that it is so close, I would like help making a pre-op checklist. I guess I am looking for things that were important, or things you wished you would of done before surgery. With the Holidays coming up, I would like to be prepared. Thank you in advance!!

  7. I have my surgery Nov 22nd, but I have to start my 4 week pre op diet tomorrow and I'm so very nervous, 4 weeks with no food will be very tough. Especially when you are the cook of the house.

That is my surgery date too!!! I am glad I am not the only one who is doing this so close to Thanksgiving!! I will be praying for you!!! I go next Tuesday for my info with my nuritionist. I only have to be on a 2 week 'diet'. I am also the cook of the house--- but we are 'modifing' (my favorite word) that---

  8. Freedom4emjay.....my surgery is Nov 4th. Freaking out big time. I never have trouble sleeping and lately I have. The surgery almost haunts me at night lol!!

This is my 9th surgery......so not like I haven't done surgery before. I don't know what my problem is. I have worked hard to get here no backing out now but may have anxiety and no sleep until I get there lol!!

Are you saying this is your 9th weight loss surgery or 9th surgery all together???

  9. I am looking for a November 'banding buddy' or buddies. My surgery is Nov.22. I would of liked to do it sooner (dont we all) but my surgon is on vacation. I am not nervious about the surgery. I am scared of losing my best friend-food. I have already come up with a plan for Thanksgiving, and how I am going to avoid going to my family's house. Besides ,my husband, everyone thinks I am having heital hernia surgery. I feel really guilty not telling them what I am doing, but I learned my lesson at the beginning of my journey, when I mentioned I was looking into weigh loss surgery. That is why I am coming here. I do need support. I am noticing that I am doubting my decission. Does anyone feel or have felt this way?
