Thought I’d check in with my Dec 2017 sleevers!! I had my surgery on 12/4/2017. Currently down 110 pounds since surgery. Sometimes I can’t even believe it. Best thing I ever did for myself 🥰💗🙌🏼. I honestly had the best experience and would recommend WLS to anyone that needs it.

I posted almost the exact same thing a week before my surgery- 12/4. I was 100% determined and convinced through the 5 month process that this was right for me AND then I freaked out 7 days before. Luckily, I came to my senses bc I realized it was the best thing I could ever do for myself. I'm almost 8 weeks post op and down 40 pounds and it's an unbelievable feeling.
I'd imagine your recovery will go well especially since you are so young. I'm 34 and I was walking around the hospital floor the same night I had the surgery. You will definitely have pain bc duh.. it's surgery but like some else said-- take the drugs lol. I was feeling fine the next day and even left the hospital early.
At home, I did have the left shoulder gas pain which is a pain in the a**, but it only lasted a few days for me. They recommended liquid gas-x to me. Other than that just minor physical inconveniences and being tired from healing.
The hard part for me has been figuring out how much and what to eat and making sure I get my Protein and Water intake -- but I manage and I'm learning. Best part is no hunger!!!! And of course losing the weight.
Good Luck!!! 💕💕

Hi! I'm 8 weeks post-op and wondering if strawberries are ok to eat/add to smoothies? ! I only had to see a nutritionist pre-op and I vaguely remember her saying something negative about strawberries.... I think something about the seeds.
I was at my surgeon's office this week and he pretty much said all healthy options are open now, but I forgot to ask!!!
Any info would be helpful.
thanks!

It's likely "more potent" bc of your weightloss.

I love Clusie! She keeps it real... is super informative and hilarious.
Her story about why she chose VSG helped me make my decision. 💕

Milk of magnesia! Can't repeat this enough. I was never constipated before surgery and this is what helped me through it.

Thank you @kaysc! I talked to my surgeon on Tuesday and was able to go the same day. Thank god. Feeling so much better. 👍🏼

Omg! Lol. I meant to write NOT wanting to eat. I'll fix my post. I've been really great with Water and Protein Shakes and don't really care for much else.

I'm struggling with not wanting to eat. Is that normal?

Hi all! I'm suffering from sciatica. I had back pain before my surgery on 12/4 and I had an adjustment right before it. Unfortunately about a week after, I twisted the wrong way and my back has been killing me since. I thought it would get better but it hasn't. 😭. I called my surgeon today and he is out until Jan 2. I want to visit the chiropractor but I fear it's too early.... anyone have any experience with this?

I had one piece 3 weeks post op with egg whites and I was fine.

Hi ladies! I'm so sorry some of you are struggling 😭. My doctor prescribed me nausea, vomiting and pain meds, as well as Pepcid... all were god sent. I'm almost two weeks in now and feel pretty normal.... just tired. I have a hard time sleeping bc of the incisions . My doctor signed me off to eat some soft foods already but I'm a little afraid 😳.
Ive lost 17 pounds since 12/4 (surgery date).
for those that are struggling with liquid intake-- this little measuring cup has been a game changer for me

i drink 3 oz at a time and use this as a cup. I also set a timer on my iPhone for every 15 minutes. I track everything on a free app called waterlogged. Hope this helps!!!

Oh and I'm already down 12 pounds! Huge win 💕💕

@Roadrunner 1 recovery is going good! Finally starting to feel normal. I was really tired and nauseous last week but I got thru it 😀.
Finally had some real "food" -- yogurt and some cream of chicken.... nice change compared to all Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes. 😉

I had surgery Monday and had a very similar experience. Only difference is that I couldn't drink any liquids, including ice until the day after surgery.
The only thing im struggling with is all the sweetness of the liquids. I switch between broth, G2, Jello, Water and Protein Shakes.

Surgery buddies! I just had mine yesterday. How are you doing? I'm having major gas pains in my left side but nausea is gone and I'm up walking tons. How is your journey?

@jocelynann I just had my surgery Monday. I didn't anticipate the gas pains but wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat. It's the only thing making me feel uncomfortable so far.

I had my surgery Monday! One night in the hospital and I'm home :). So happy with my decision. Feeling sore and tired but in good spirits.

Lol @JessNYC at the A/S/L thing. I thought the same when I wrote this post. I'm officially sleeved now. Still can't believe I did it!
I'm one of the lucky ones that didn't have to do a liquid diet. I was surprised but super grateful not to have to do it.
