  1. Hi Everyone

I am 2 weeks 2 days post op. I can not believe how briliantly it has gone. I am eating and have been eating since day 3 smoked haddocked cooked in milk and blitzed down with sweet potatoe and a handful of baby spinach bliized served in to two different small piles or asaparagus and a touch of garlic and milk blitzed. Greek yogurt with fresh mango or berries blitzed in.

is this normal to be eating food like this so soon. I have lost just over 1 stone and feel fantastic. I am just listening to my body and have had no discomfort at all.

Does anyone know if you are allowed champagne after a plication (i am going to a wedding)?

Hope everyone else is as good as me.

    God Bless

    Caroline

Hi cazza glad your doing well. In the states we are put on a very strict diet to ensure the stomach doesn't loosen up to fast. I also wasn't able to eat my first solid till this past Sunday. Before that I tried and felt horrific. Also was told that anything carbonated or bubbly in a drink can make one feel sick to. Try it before the wedding so you don't feel sick during.

  2. Hi! The therapist appt is more like a evaluation. I don't believe it hinders your qualification but it is mandatory at least in the states. Up until the surgery it's nerve recking with the excitement and fear and the first week of surgery is the hardest. After the first week is over everything falls in place slowly. I agree with the comment above that you do feel weak. The lack of food made me tired but as I shed the weight I also started gaining the energy back.

Other then that I don't have any regrets and you'll also be fine. Please feel free to ask any questions

  3. Hey everyone I'm so excited I got my surgery date just a few minutes ago' date=' I'm excited and scared at the same time. I've always had weight problems and though everyone have always told me I'm fine just the way I am, or this fits me I know deep down inside I'm not happy and this is not me. I weigh 235 and honestly u can't really tell I weigh that much but the scale says other wise, and I'm not comfortable at all . I wanna be happy with myself so that I can move forward. My surgery date is set for September 4th[/quote']

Congratulations on your up coming surgery! You'll be just fine. What are you having done?

  4. Hello' date=' I have a question. I was recently plicated 2 weeks ago - 7/11/2013 with Dr. Chock at NWWLS in Everett, WA. I have lost about 26 lbs since my starting weight (1 week before surgery). So that's great...however...I have major gas/burping problems. At first I thought the gas pain was from the CO2 they pump in during surgery. Now, every time I take a sip of Water or try to eat a bite of yogurt, my throat makes weird noise, my tummy gurgles, I burp a lot, terrible gas!! What is up with this?? Is it normal to still have it really bad 2 weeks out? They didn't warn me about this at all and it prevents me from eating or drinking anything more than 2 sips or bites without major gas.[/quote']

Hi! This is exactly my issue and I had my surgery July 8, 2013. I would even get chest pains after every sip. The pain has gone away but I took the issue up with the doctor and a plication nutrition specialist and both said its normal and it's bc the pouch is still right and this is your body's way of saying the pouch is full. My symptoms are starting to get better and I'm sure yours will too. Good luck!!

  5. Sorry it's taking me so long to respond I got a new phone . I was bad I didn't puree anything I just chewed it up a really super good. I did a lot of Peanut Butter and I would eat toast but I would chew it really good. Now I'm on week five and I just eat ... chew chew chew... I kinda had a hard time with refried Beans or any kind of Beans. But now I'm good. I'm still testing different foods to make sure I can tolerate them. I hope this was helpful I feel like a terrible example. I was 156 lbs this morning!!! Wooohooo.... :)

Congratulations!!!!!!!! 156 would be a dream come true for me! Way to go ! Can I ask you what you started your weight with. Also thanks for the advice. I had my first egg this morning with spinach and cheese. Ate two bites chewed and chewed and that was it for me. So my left shoulder starts to hurt every time I eat. I called a specialist on it and they said its normal. It's my body sign your full. Strange right???

Going to have some yogurt for lunch and some Soup for dinner. These days I'm so busy and tired I don't have the time or energy

To eat and haven't had a Protein shake in so many days too. Once again a big congrats!!!!!!

  6. I feel good!! How about you? They have me doing every stage for two weeks each so next week I start the purée food! I'm excited just to chew lol. Do you feel your self getting hungry often? I'm getting hungry more often but all I really want to do is chug a water bottle down so bad.

Also what did you eat at the second stage? The doctor said anything that comes out of a blender basically.

  7. lol you'll be fine and I think your positive energy and excitement for losing the weight will make it even more easier.

You won't be having a cup of anything anytime soon. They will provide a plate with Protein and clear soon and give you tiny cups to measure everything you eat. It's in the MLs. Also the first week for some isn't the easiest but its also true what everyone here says. It does get better and then you'll have that tea :))!

How long do you get to stay there after your surgery?

  8. Hey Everyone

Ok reality hit! I had to have my Mums rings cut off today in readyness for my surgery on tuesday. It made me feel sad as i have never taken them off in 15yrs and frightened as it dawned on me it really is going to happen very soon! I am having the plication in prague i have pre ops monday 22nd then the actual op tuesday.

I am going through the phase of not being able to get off to sleep as its on my mind. Then as soon as i wake up POW!!!!!

Any advice would be so gratefully recieved.

    love caroline

Congrats on your upcoming surgery! Keep thinking positive and get ready for a new you :)

  9. Thank you thank you for praying for me! The last time I had any chest pain was yesterday morning. I even cooked two meals today for my family and held my baby!!! I don't own a weight machine so I don't know what I've lost. Will tell you guys Thursday !!

  10. I'm doing very well!! Not losing as fast as I would like but I have a good restriction and my tummy is really good. I have been pain free for a while. I had a low BMI to start with so ' date='so far in almost 3&a half weeks I've lost 11 pounds. I ride horses a lot I run and jump, everythings good!![/quote']

I'm really happy for you! The weight loss will come for sure. I'm a low bmi too. I hope to feel that good in few weeks too. You've been so helpful and attentive to all my questions I forgot to ask you how you were. Just wanted to say thank you!!!

I called my doctor today and he said he's made the pouch small. I was under the assumption he was going to make it 1000 calories worth but I was wrong and the tight pouch is causing the pain. He said strictly no next stage yet till my pouch naturally expands itself in few days.

Please keep me in your prayers too.

  11. Interesting' date=' I didn't have any bandages and I didn't have any stitches :/ I was able to shower with the day. I got a packet of broth out of a Top Ramen package. That helped me not feel hungry. You can also have popsicles that helps too![/quote']

That's a good idea. I have these coconut pops made from skim milk and low fat yogurt. I'll have that next week. I had a Protein shake after my broth today and felt better. Did you get a chance to ready my other post about the post-op diet? Would love some input

  12. Hi my drs post op diet is different from the one the hospital gave me. The Drs diet wants 2 weeks of liquids and 2 weeks of purees food and 2 weeks of soft foods while the hospital wants one week of each. I weighted 195 starting surgery and I don't know who to follow. I think I'll stave following the drs orders.

  13. Yes keep walking that def helps.

As far as my incisions' date=' they had little tape bandages and I showered with them and they eventually fell of on their own. I didn't rub them or put soap on them I just let the Water run over them

Your doing great and will feel better soon, hang in there :-)[/quote']

How do you feel now? It's been a week for you too right?
