I was scared also but then I started reading the chances and they are less than 1 and 100 or something like this. My doctor didn't know of anyone who had died from lap band surgery...... It will be fine!!!

It has been exactly a week since surgery.... thought I had more gas in my side today was in tears... it was so bad.. turns out I am passing a kidney stone! When it rains it pours doesn't it!!!:omg:

I told everyone! I only had one person who was not supportive! I figured they are going to know what is up when I am losing 10 lbs a month... only lost 25lbs total on my whole year on WW hahaha!

My problem has been my aunt... I think she is very jealous b/c she is VERY overweight and too scared to do anything about it. She has been telling me since I wanted to do this that it is just lack of will-power... blah blah blah... Now she hasn't talked to me since the surgery.....

Hi All! I was banded last week and am able to eat more and more..... Will I be able to eat as much as used to until I get my fill or will about 1/2 cup be it...???

I did.. it was from the liquid diet and working out the gas.... the explosive part goes away.. but until you are off of the liquids... get use to it LOL

The checklist on FAQ was wonderful! My saving grace has been my blender though! If you don't have one, buy one!!!

I was banded on 10-17 and my belly has been upset. I don't know if it is b/c i am hungry and need something solid or something else.. anyone else have this problem? Also every time i move I feel my port pull.. it is disgusting! My surgion says it is normal but yuck!!! otherwise i am down 19lbs.. yeah!:clap2:

My surgery was at 7:15 on Oct. 17 and I was out by 2:00 that same day!!

I was banded on the 17th and i slept in the recliner for the first night. the second night I moved to the bed and layed on my right side and it moved out so much gas i felt soooo much better..Only last night was I able to comfortably sleep on my left side!

What did you do to get over the nausea?? I have it but I think a lot of it is from all the sweet liquids...

I was just banded on the 17th. I was in a lot of pain yesterday(18th). It was from all the gas in my chest. They got worried b/c they said the gas pain is usually in your sholders not your chest, so they sent me to the ER to get a cat scan to rule out a blood clot in my lungs. They said lungs are fine but tons of gas in my chest. I have worked a lot of it out through the night and I am feeling much better!

Surgery is on Wed. I have to be there at 5:30 and I am starting to get VERY nervous! I think it is the being put under part that bothers me the most! Ugh.. Just wanted to vent!

Ok, on my diet we can have one can of broth based soup with the chicken and noodles in it a day. Do you think I could make my own chicken noodle soup instead of the canned stuff???

My name is Sarah. I live in Bradenton, Florida. I am a teacher for students with severe disabitlities. I currently am teaching an all autistic class and love it. I have 2 St. Bernards who are my pride and joy, although I am concerned how I will handle them once I weight the same or less than them (they weigh 150 and 170 lbs.). I am single as usual (hopefully it will be easier to find a man skinny)!! I am set to be banded on Oct. 17. I can't wait to get it over with.. I am dying on this pre-op liquid diet. :whoo:

I am on day 5 of my liquid diet and I am sooooooooooo hungry. All that I can think about is cheating! I am almost to the point of tears!:omg:

Hi all! I started my liquid diet yesterday and feel like I am starving to death. My head hurts, my stomach is very upset and I am weak. Has anyone else experienced this? Doe it go away?:hungry:

I am very excited but very nervous. I came down with a chest cold this weekend which makes things even worse. I am really scared about the pre-op diet.... :omg:

How long did you have to take off of work.. I am taking a week off and my surgion told me i need 3????? does that sound right.

I think he reasoning is b/c I teach an autistic class and they can be very aggressive at times.. but I simply can't take that much time off of work. I told the nurse that and she told me at least a week and when I go back to let the aides do all of the work... which will be fine.. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing the wrong things.... Surgery is on Wed. going back on Monday.. what do you think?

I have read several threads where people say that even after a few fills they still have no restriction.. how can that be? I am just trying to figure this all out b/f surgery!

Can anyone help me think of questions that I need to ask.. I have my first pre-op meeting Tuesday
